These are by no means listings of every disaster book ever made, these are simply the books we have in our own personal library at home. If you have something you'd like to recommend or add to our list, feel free to drop us a line!

Here's a tip for those of you who collect antique disaster books, such as the ones that came out the same years as the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Be careful about what you buy, because we've noticed that the same basic books have been packaged in a number of different looking covers. Always check who the author was to make sure you're not buying something you've already got. And when buying or bidding in an auction for these books, don't be suckered in by the people preying on the recent fanaticism over the "Titanic" movie. We've seen sellers asking $50, $75, or $100 and up for these antique books, which is ridiculous. Just 3 years ago, we paid $15 for the same book. There are some sellers asking reasonable prices for the same books, so it pays to shop around. Don't worry, there are tons of copies of these books floating around. We find it hilarious when the sellers on the auction sites list a copy of a "rare" book and we see 10 other people selling the same book at the same time.
