The Waltons:
The Unofficial Home Page

Back in November of 1996, I produced this web site about the television series, The Waltons. I had found so little about the show on the Internet and it was, and still is one of my favorite shows. I had watched the show when I was growing up and I now find that I still enjoy the adventures, the togetherness and the family spirit which they showed with my own family. There was no sex, and very little violence in the show. It is just warm family drama we can all watch comfortably together.

The show has lasted too, with The Waltons celebrating its 25th anniversary in 1997. It is still being enjoyed by people in the USA, Britain, Belgium, Israel and, of course, Australia where I and many others, were reliving the episodes thanks to Foxtel. If it is screening in your country, please let me know and I'll add it to the list. Many people are continuing to collect Waltons Memorabilia, with some pieces being very much in demand, and there is even a Waltons Mountain Museum, which has been developed in Schuyler, the home of the Hamner family, the real Waltons.

You can find out more about the series and its actors by visiting the links below. If you are a true fan of The Waltons, you will already know that it is very hard to find out much about the series and the actors either from the Internet, or from books. Fortunately for us all though, there have been many other sites developed about the show, and there's even a Waltons Webring now. Each one is unique and they are all fun to visit. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy your visit to my Waltons site, coming to you from an Australian perspective.

The Waltons Mailing List

The Waltons Mailing List has been up and running now, since Easter '97. It was sent to coincide with the airing of the most recent Waltons special, A Walton Easter. The mailing list is sent in digest form, usually just once each week and the membership is growing daily. It's a really friendly group with people of all ages involved so come and join us. We discuss all sorts of Waltons matters and it's a great way to keep up to date with all the latest gossip about our favorite family.

If you are interested, please email me and I will add you to the list. When you send your email, please put "Walton List" in the subject space. Joining a mailing list is a great way to meet new internet friends and to learn a lot more about this show and the actors from it. As it is run by me, not by a listserv, please be patient and don't expect an immediate reply. If you don't hear from me for a few days though, it is worthwhile to send your message again, just in case I haven't received your email, or for some reason, I didn't get your email address quite right.

If you begin to have problems receiving your digest, and it does happen from time to time through no fault of my own, you can still access it via the internet, at the Waltons Digest Member's Site. Go to The Waltons Digest Member's Site then click on the link for Digests 2002 or 2003.

Latest Waltons News

The Waltons is currently being shown on Foxtel here in Australia. Have a look at it on weekdays, Channel 6 (Classis Fox) at 9a.m.
I'm told by a Foxtel viewer that currently Foxtel only have the first three seasons of The Waltons, which they are replaying. If you are enjoying the show then why not give Foxtel a call and let them know you're watching and would love them to get all nine seasons. If lots of viewers call them, then we might get some action. You can contact them on 131999.

Waltons DVDs Now Available

Finally Warner Bros have brought out the first season of The Waltons on DVD. It's a good idea to shop around for it as the prices can vary enormously. I managed to get a good price at Best Buy. For those of you who can't find it, or want to get it over the Internet, I buy a lot of items from www.amazon.com and I always find them very good. The Homecoming and Spenser's Mountain are also available on DVD. If we continue to buy them then hopefully more seasons will come.

My thanks go to both my sons, Tim and James, who have both helped me to get the site onto the Internet.
