There were six students graduating in Jim Bob's class: four
boys and two girls. They were the Class of 1944. As Jim Bob
was dressing for his graduation, Rose gave him cufflinks with
a "W" on them.
Jim Bob said during the graduation ceremony that the class of 1944 wanted to do something special. Something that would be their gift to the community and the school. That day, before the ceremony, the whole class went down to Rockfish. The boys signed up for the army, and the girls offered them moral support. He added that the girls also promised to write to them each week.
