Squadron History : The 41st Squadron was formed at its first online meeting on 31st January 1997, attended by Wildfire, Silencer, Monsoon, and Icewind. It is a Singapore-based S:AAB squadron, and was the first and only one in Asia for some time.

Squadron Name : The name of the 41st Squadron, "The Wild Furies", symbolises the wild forces of nature. The image that this name calls up is one of swiftness, unpredictability, and deadliness. Members of the squadron should preferably take up callsigns reflecting this theme.

Squadron Patch : The squadron patch of the 41st bears a resemblance to that of the Angry Angels. The four rings represent a tornado, which encloses a streak of lightning - both are a reflection on the squadron number and name. The green wings represent a hammerhead, which bears the "tornado" and the "lightning bolt", and hence by inference the 41st, to war.

Rank Structure : The 41st has an independent ranking system from most other squadrons in the Earth Forces. It was agreed at the formation of the squadron that there will not be any high officer ranks within the squadron. The reasons for this are many. Firstly, it was felt that it might be better not to have too much of a difference between officers and non-officers - we are all S:AAB fans afterall, and everyone should feel equal; secondly, we were only 4 of us at that time and did not think that we would have as many as 24 members, so having all those high ranks is somewhat silly; and thirdly, the WILDCARDS themselves only had one Captain and 4 1st Lieutenants, and it felt odd to outrank THEM. :)

Therefore, members are 2nd Lieutenants once they join the 41st, and are promoted to 1st Lieutenants or Captains according to their participation in squadron activities and contribution to the S:AAB fandom.

Member Status : As a measure of recognition of individual involvement in the S:AAB fandom, members of the 41st are placed on one of four possible status. Newcomers are listed automatically as "Active/Non-Combat"; "Active/Combat" status are awarded to those who have participated in squadron, and even airwing and international S:AAB activities on a regular basis; members who have not been heard from for some time are put on "Non-Active/MIA" status, or "Non-Active/Retired" if they so request.

Mission Logs : Since its formation, the 41st has held a few squadron activities. Members have met together to view S:AAB episodes, watch movies, and even just to chat over dinner. Most notable of these past Operations include an episode-watching session and interview with a Straits Times reporter (supposedly for an article on the 1997 National Day supplement which unfortunately never did appear); helping the 88th Firebirds set up their squadron; and initiating the formation of the 7th Asian Airwing.
