Latin Phrases Story

"Where do you want to go tonight?" the man asked his beautiful wife. They had decided on a dinner out but where to go was still up in the air.

"I don't know. That clam place in Ireland is always a treat."

"Then Ireland it is!" He pronounced happily with a childish grin. "Now, just let me call the pilot. I got to get him out of bed."

His wife laughed and watched as he walked to the phone. "Honey?"

"Yeah, Brenda?"

"I love you," she said ab imo pectore.

"I love you too," returned Jax.

Brenda announced she had to change for their trip and walked slowly up to the bedroom. She turned around at the top of the stairs to watch her husband try to persuade the lazy pilot to "be at the hangar in ten minutes, or else." She smiled to herself and thought of times before when she hadn't been as happy. Before Jax and walked into her life. She hoped ad kalendas graecas to return to that life again.

Ab aeterno, Brenda felt that she had always been with Sonny. She thought he was who she wanted to be with but when she met Jax it didn't feel right to her anymore. De facto being with him did. At first, they were just alter egos. Best friends. That's what she needed, someone to love her and trust her bone fide. She had found it all in her man, Jax.

The day Jax proposed to her was one of the best in her life! He had given her an ultimatum: two weeks to say yes or no. If she said no, he would walk out of her life forever. Alea iacta est. She had to make up her mind but it wasn't hard. The thought of living the rest of her life without him made her shudder!

Two weeks after the proposal, Jax had wed her on his yacht. Some of Jax's rather eccentric friends were there for the occasion but she didn't care. They were interesting. After the ceremony they sat on the yacht's deck playing poker when an argument started between Jax and his whimsical friend, Thao. It was about an island named Kronos that Jax claimed Thao won from him unrightfully. Thao took this accusation cum grano salis. Before the argument went a verbis a verbera, the two men decided to play poker for it. Jax was-

"Brenda?" Jax asked questioningly from outside the bedroom door, "Are you almost ready? We have to meet the pilot in fifteen minutes or he's leaving without us."

Brenda was startled back to reality. She hadn't even dressed yet; the little tour down memory lane had held her up!

"Um, I'll be right down," she said hastily. "What to wear," she thought as she threw open the doors to her fashion filled closet.

Ten minutes later Brenda slithered down the pent house's stair case. "I'm ready, honey," she told Jax. They walked to the door but before she could walk through it, Jax swept her off her feet and carried her outside to the waiting limo.
