Monday - April 9th - Jax and Brenda

~ Can I Trust You With My Heart ~

"You know you're right, I'll be sure to send a Thank-you note in the morning" he replied with a grin. As he backed out of Brenda's bedroom, he pulled the door shut behind him.

Jax closed his eyes and leaned back against the door frame. He wiped away the perspiration that beaded along his brow and above his lips. (Breathe in...... breathe out...... breathe in......) As the mantra took hold, he was finally able to release the air from his lungs. Jax rested his hands just above his knees as the spasms in his chest began to dwindle. The stress of holding off Brenda's sensual onslaught had taken it's toll. (THUMP-THUMP, THUMP-Thump, Thump-thump) His heart had somehow found it's way between his ears! . (Breathe in...... breathe out.....) As his heart returned to it's proper location, his mind again filled with visions of the woman on the other side of this wall.

What was he thinking of! He had every intention of taking her home, thanking her, and leaving. He'd been telling her for weeks that he didn't want to be anything more that friends. Then he'd kissed her as if possessed. Who was he kidding, he *was* possessed, make that obsessed. He had let down his guard during their heart-to-heart and her eyes had reeled him in. He had let the moment take control of his emotions. Brenda's eyes so reminded him of those long Alaskan nights.

There the stars shown by the thousands in pitch black skies. A man could not help but feel in awe of the spectacle before him. In all his life he had never seen anything that compared with that sight, until Brenda. From the first moment their eyes met as he turned from his pinball machine, he had been drawn into the Deep.....Dark.....Depths of those eyes. They were enchanting and mysterious, yet full of light and playfulness, with a touch of sadness and hope. The combination was addictive. As he unconsciously bit on his lower lip, his hand reached for the doorknob back to nirvana.

"This is insane, I'm only her next best choice. FELICIA, Tess had taken her! How could he have been so irresponsible in letting that slip his mind? He needed to contact the PCPD to find out if Garcia had made any progress in finding her."

With that thought, he ran down the stairs and out into the cold sobering night. As he caught his breath, he looked up and saw the dark skies shimmering in a myriad of lights. "Give me strength", Jax prayed as he fought the need to turn and look up at Brenda's window. His mind raced as he got back into his car. Its' wheels spun as it peeled away.

From her bedroom window, Brenda looked down. Her fingers caressing lips still tingling from their mutual passion. She faintly smiled as his tires kicked up the loose gravel as he departed. She hugged his jacket more closely around her body as she turned back towards her bed. Pulling her hands more deeply into its' sleeves, she was enveloped with the scents of Jax noting that he had worn her favorite cologne. "Well nothing worth having is easy" she pondered as sleep overtook her body. She drifted off to dreams of Jax and what could have been if he had only turned the doorknob and re-entered her room......
