*Letting Go* Chapter 25

by Shani

Brenda finished dressing as Jax continued his phone conversation with Adrian, his friend in London. Jax hung up the phone and looked at Brenda. "He can't reach Julia either." He went to the closet and grabbed a shirt to put on. "We'll find her." he said
Brenda nodded her head. When Jax said he'd do something, it was done. She had to trust that they would find her, safe and sound. Brenda pulled out a bag and started throwing some clothes inside as she waited for Jax to finish dressing.
Jax grabbed his motorcycle keys off the nightstand and picked up the bag. "Let's go."
Brenda was closing the door to the bedroom when she heard the ringing phone. She ran back in and picked it up. "Julia?"
"Let me speak to my brother."
Brenda sighed and tossed Jax the phone.
"I'm already on a plane to London. You stay where you are."
"What?"
"Stay where you are. It's not safe for you to come here and you know it. Did you forget that Sonny wants you dead."
"You're assuming I care."
"Listen. I'll be in London before your plane even takes off. I told you I was watching Sonny. He may have slipped your cop friend, but he didn't slip me. I've had people in London watching him and he's no where near Julia yet. So tell Brenda not to worry and I'll go for her sister....I wouldn't let anything happen to Julia."
Jax knew Jerry was telling the truth. Julia was one of the few people Jerry actually *liked*. "You have 48 hours or else we're coming." he said and hung up the phone. "Jerry's on his way to London. He says that Sonny hasn't gone near Julia yet. And Jerry's going to find her for us."
"Why would he do that for me?"
"He likes Julia. Besides, it's not safe for us to go flying around anywhere until Sonny is settled and I can make sure he won't be bothering us again."
Brenda walked over to the bed and sat down. "Are you sure?"
"Jerry will get there first. If we don't hear from her in a couple of days we'll go. But my brother's pretty good at finding people...especially pretty ones."
Brenda managed a smile. "Okay." she leaned back on the bed. "Jax?"
Jax sat down on the bed next to her and leaned back. "Yes?" he answered as he and her looked up at the ceiling.
"How does Jerry know Julia."
"They used to date."
"Really?"
"Yeah. They dated for a week. That's a record for Jerry. I almost thought he'd get engaged again."
"Again?"
"He was engaged once. He called my parents and told them he had gotten engaged to some girl. That was the first time my mom sent me looking for him. And it was the only time I didn't find him. It seems he could tell my parents were uspet and decided to come home on his own. But I didn't find that out until later."
"What happened...did you get distracted?"
"Yes. That was when I found Miranda."
Brenda turned and looked at him.
"What?" he said as he looked at her.
"Continue."
Jax reached out and stroked her hair. "What's there to say. We met, fell in love and got married. It really isn't all that interesting. Now my families reaction...THAT was interesting."
Brenda grinned. "They didn't like her?"
"That's an understatment. I don't know why though. They never told me. I remember walking in with Miranda and introducing her as my wife and Jerry's face dropped. I assumed I had topped him. Jerry was only engaged you see and I was married. That's probably what ticked him off the most."
"What ever happened to Jerry's fiance."
"I don't know. I was told that they had broken up and that's why Jerry had come back home."
"You miss her don't you."
"Sometimes. But I don't think I really knew her. So maybe I miss the person I thought I knew. Why all of a sudden an interest in Miranda."
"I've always been interested. I just didn't want to hear it because it frightened me. But I'm not scared anymore. Besides, I like hearing about you and your family....you know we should call them."
"Do you know how much I love you?"
"Do you know I realize you're changing the subject. Jax, you can't be mad at them forever. Just let it go."
Jax looked back up at the ceiling. "I should. I know."
Brenda moved over and placed her head on his shoulder. "I love you too." she said as Jax smiled.

Alexis came downstairs and looked at Stefan and Nikolas. "I think it's time we tell Jax about Mishka."
"What about her."
"That Jerry took her from you and they were engaged. I think that would end his relationship with Jerry once and for all."
"What good is that?" Nikolas asked. "All we want is to find out what he knows about the medallion."
Stefan answered for Alexis. "Mr. Jacks has a problem in that the people he loves he can't fully trust. Yet he continues to trust them over and over until one day he stops. Hence what happened to him and Mishka. The best way for us to get him to tell us what he knows is to get him while he's down. And the best way to bring him down is to destroy his relationship with his brother. And with Ms. Barrett."
Alexis looked at Stefan. "That will be harder. He seems to trust her completely."
"Except when it comes to Mr. Corinthos."
