STARTING OVER Ch. 36

Jax and Kayleigh moved silently around the front of the building where the girls where being held, Jerry and Larissa had taken the rear. They could tell that the building was secure although the guards were staying well out of sight. They crept up on a pair of guards and quickly put them out of commission. Jax signaled to Kayleigh and they moved them behind some crates. They wouldn’t be going anywhere. Within a half hour Kayleigh, Jax, Jerry and Larissa had taken care of everyone but the four guards that were in the room with Princess’s Beatrice and Eugenie. Everything was going better then they had imagined. The girls were being held in the corner of a large open room, snuggled up together sleeping on a cot. Their kidnappers were sitting at a table about 100yards away from them, giving Kayleigh, Jax, Jerry and Larissa a clear shot of them without endangering the girls. Jax gave the signal and they began the countdown. 5 4 3 2 ..they hit their targets within milliseconds of one another. The men dropped like flies. They ran into the room, Jax, Jerry and Larissa secured the kidnapers while Kayleigh went straight to the girls to make sure they were ok, thankfully they were still sleeping. Hopefully they would remain so until their father arrived to take them home. Jax walked as far away from the sleeping girls to make a call.
He walked over to Kayleigh and tapped her on the shoulder.

"The authorities are on their way as is Andrew. We’ve got to clear out of here." He whispered.

"You guys go ahead, I want to wait here with the girls until their father arrives."

"Sweetheart you know you can’t do that. They will be coming in silent so we won’t have any warning. We have to leave now."

Kayleigh nodded. She knew Jax was right. They walked out of the room leaving the girls the way they had found them. Sleeping, unaware of what had just transpired.

"I have to hand it to you Kayleigh, that was a brilliant idea using tranquilizers. Those bastards are going to have fun trying to get out of this one." Jax said once they had left the building.

"Well you know that was the best way to assure that the girls wouldn’t be harmed. And I want them to pay for what they did. I don’t see how they can get out of this. Where the hell are Jerry and Larissa?"

"I don’t know, now that you mention it." Jax tensed up.

Kayleigh stopped walking and listened. She bent over and swiftly removed the gun that was in an ankle holster. Jax followed suit taking his gun that was tucked into his jeans in the small of his back. He signaled to Kayleigh to go to the right and check the perimeter of the building, while he took off around the left. Kayleigh made her way as quickly as she could without making any noise. She stopped to listen. She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths, willing herself to concentrate and get into the mindset that was now needed. Something was wrong, and she didn’t like it. She stopped at the corner of the back of the building. Something told her extreme care was needed. She pressed her body up against the building and slowly looked around the corner. There stood Jerry and Larissa, held at gunpoint by 4 men. She pulled her head back around out of sight.

"Shit, shit, shit, shit!" She muttered to herself. "What the hell went wrong!" She crept along the building wall and peeked around the front to make sure all was clear. She ran along the front and met up with Jax.

"They’ve got Jerry and Larissa." Jax said.

"I know, could you see any faces?" Kayleigh asked.

"No. But Jerry saw me."

"Jax we have to get the girls out of here. We can’t wait for the authorities. There could be more men on the way. I saw four, but who knows how many more there are. Dammit!"

Jax started to reply but stopped before he said anything. He looked at Kayleigh. They were once again in sync. They had both heard the footsteps heading toward the front of the building.

"Ok luv, let’s go move the girls. We can at least get them hid somewhere else in the building."

Kayleigh nodded. They hurried into the building to move the girls into a safer location. They decided on a large air duct in the front of the warehouse.

"Jax how the hell are we going to get them to do as we ask without them being scared? It’s not like we can let them see our faces. "

Jax looked at Kayleigh." You’re right." They had removed their black face masks after they had taken out all of the kidnappers, but had pulled them back over their faces when they went in search of Jerry and Larissa.

"Damn this just keeps getting better doesn’t it." Jax whispered sarcastically. "If they see our faces we’re screwed. If they are scared and scream we’re screwed. They haven’t seen us in a while, but I know they would recognize us. And boy wouldn’t that be fun explaining to them that they couldn’t tell anyone that daddy’s friends saved them."

Kayleigh closed her eyes and tilted her head to listen. She couldn’t hear anyone moving around.

"You just get that grate open, I’ll think of something. She hurried over to the girls. She kneeled on the floor next to the bed where they were sleeping.

"Beatrice, Eugenie, come on lollypops you have to wake up." Kayleigh held her breath as the two girls opened their eyes. She put her finger to her lips, indicating that she wanted them to be quiet. They nodded. She couldn’t help but notice that they were holding hands tightly. "That’s good lollypops." Kayleigh whispered soothingly. "We are going to play a little game ok?"

The girls nodded again in response.

"I promise I am not going to hurt you ok. I’m here to make sure you get back to your mummy and daddy. But before we can do that we are going to have to play hide and seek ok?"

The girls eyes widened slightly almost in recognition. Just as Kayleigh had hoped. Enough recognition so that they would relax a little but not enough that they would figure out who she was. Lollypops were the girls favorite candy and hide and seek their favorite game. And it was something that was not publicly known.

"Now lollypops, you have to promise not to make a sound, and you can’t move until your daddy comes for you. That is very important ok. Not a sound. It’s going to be dark where you are going to hide but you will be safe, I promise. Can you be very quiet?"

Neither girl said anything, they nodded.

"Good. Now let’s get you hidden."

Kayleigh got the girls off the bed and grabbed the blankets. She took each girl by the hand and quickly led them to the vent. Jax walked back in just as Kayleigh reached the vent. The girls instinctively hid behind Kayleigh when Jax came in.

"They are on the side of the building. It looks like they are waiting for orders before they make their next move. Plus their guests are making it quite difficult for them." Jax whispered.

"Good. Lollypops it’s ok. This is my friend. He is here to help me get you back to mummy and daddy. Now quickly, we have to get you hid. Now remember you promised you would be very quiet." Kayleigh whispered.

The girls nodded again. Kayleigh put the blankets into the air duct, not only would it make it more comfortable for them but it would also muffle and movement they made. She bundled the girls as far into the duct as she could.

"Now remember not a sound. I promise daddy will be here very soon." Kayleigh put a hand reassuringly on first Beatrice then, Eugenie’s cheek.

She backed out of the duct and together her and Jax swiftly replace the screws that held the grate on the front of the duct. Kayleigh pressed her masked face to the grate. "Please don’t make a sound ok lollypops. It’s really important that you are very very quiet. Daddy will be here soon."

Kayleigh stood up and looked at Jax. She hated leaving the girls but it was safer to do so then to stay with them. She glanced at her watch. She couldn’t believe only 7 minutes had elapsed. It seemed like and eternity. She made her way outside with Jax. They crept along the building and looked around the corner. Still only 4 men holding guns on Jerry and Larissa. Jerry was arguing with them.

"Look I told you we were casing the next warehouse over for a job. I don’t know what in bloody hell you are talking about we didn’t see anyone until you grabbed us."

"Shut up!" One of their captors hissed. He grabbed Larissa and put his gun to her head. "Now let’s see if you decide to tell me the truth."

"God Jerry don’t lose it keep your cool." Jax whispered.

"I told you bloody bastards, I don’t know what you are talking about. We were on our way to check out that warehouse." Jerry jerked his head in the direction of the next building. "Now let her go so we can do what we came to do."

The man holding the gun to Larissa’s head laughed. "You’re good, I’ll give you that." He turned to Larissa. "Since your friend here seems to have so little concern for your life, I’ll ask you. What are you doing here and who are you working for?"

Larissa straightened her shoulders. "He told you what we were doing." She said calmly.

One of the other men stepped closer to the man holding Larissa. "Look Liam, let em go. We don’t need the excess baggage and I think they are telling the truth."

"Shut the hell up Connor! I’ll decide what we do."

Jax motioned for Kayleigh. "The leader seems to be getting itchy. We’ve got to do something fast. The authorities are going to be here soon."

Kayleigh looked around the corner of the building again, just as Larissa looked in her direction. They made eye contact and Larissa looked away.

"Larissa just saw me. So they know something is going to happen. What do you suggest? Do we use the tranquilizers again or what?"

"Tranq’s. How many do you have left?" Jax asked as he was checking his ammunition. "I’ve got three loaded and two in my pocket."

"I’ve got four loaded and three in my pocket. Jax we have to move fast."

"Ok you take the guy holding Larissa and the one to his left. I’ll take the other two." Jax peeked back around the corner. "It’s now or never. Let’s go."

They stepped around the corner at the same time. "Is this a private party or can anyone come?" Jax asked cheerily as he raised his gun. He and Kayleigh fired simultaneously. The four men dropped one after the other.

"It took you long enough," Jerry said as he walked over a systematically kicked the man that was only seconds before holding a gun to Larissa’s head. "Bloody bastard." He added scathingly as he kicked him again. "Let’s get the hell out of here before we’ve got questions asked that we don’t want to answer." He took Larissa’s hand. "Are you ok luv?" He asked warmly.

"I’m fine Jerry. Let’s go."

"We’ve got some clubbing to do." Kayleigh said softly. "Let’s book."

The four took off, keeping to the shadows. They made it back to the car just as the authorities were arriving. Jax drove down the road between the warehouses with the lights off until they wouldn’t be spotted by the authorities surrounding the building where the girls were. They made it back to the safe house quite speedily considering they didn’t want to attract any attention. They pulled into the driveway and were hurried out of the car by another agent who was going to "dispose" of it, in case anyone had spotted it at the warehouses.

"Just got word that the packages are safe." Was all the agent said as he sped away.

They hurried into the house to change. Kayleigh and Larissa had to go clubbing so that they would be seen if any of Colin’s goons got suspicious.

"It’s up to you whether or not you happen to be at any of the clubs Jax. It’s important for Larissa and I to be seen, but you and Jerry are inconsequential as far as that goes." Kayleigh teased.

"Why thank you luv. Makes me feel so loved. I think just for that we are going to show up and I am going to use every cheesy pick up line on you that I can think of."

Kayleigh raised her eyebrows. "Sorry can’t guarantee that it’s going to work. You see I happen to be completely devoted to a blond, blue eyed Australian god. I am not to fond of fellas with dark hair and brown eyes." Kayleigh flipped her hair and turned away from Jax. "Now if you excuse me I have to go find Tiff."

"Hey wait just a darn minute!" Jax said as he strode over to Kayleigh. He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her to him. Without saying another word he planted a kiss on her lips that was full of desire. Just as she was getting into it he pulled away. Smiling sweetly he looked at her. "Go on get going."

Kayleigh scrunched her eyebrows at Jax and went upstairs. 20 minutes later she walked into the kitchen, her outfit stopping Jax in mid sentence.

"Hello! What’s this? You never told me Tiff was a streetwalker." Jerry joked.

"Kiss my ass Jerry." Kayleigh teased. "She isn’t but she flaunts what she’s got." Kayleigh added as she tried to pull her skirt a little lower to cover her rear end. "For the life of me I can’t understand how women actually are comfortable walking around with their clothes like this."

She was wearing a black micro miniskirt, a tight black see-through top that exposed a black lacy bra and a pair of black stiletto heels that she referred to as "screw me shoes".

Jax walked over to Kayleigh. "Sweetheart. I can guarantee that I will be at the club tonight. There is no way I am going to let you out of my sight! You are going to have men standing in line to get a chance at you."

Kayleigh rolled her eyes. "I hardly think so baby. Your just a tad biased."

"Well I am not going to take any chances." Jax teased. He and Kayleigh both turned to look at Jerry. He had whistled and was now standing there gazing at Larissa.

"What are you two trying for?" Jerry asked only half joking. "You do realize that you are both going to get a lot of attention." He was just a tad shocked at Larissa’s appearance.

She also had on a black micro mini and black stiletto heels, but instead of a see-through top she was wearing a silver crop top that exposed more of her midriff then Jerry cared for strangers to see.

"Well DUH Jer. That IS the whole idea." Kayleigh teased. "And here we thought you two would like our appearance so much tonight that you’d want us to start dressing like this when we got home." Kayleigh said so seriously that it took Jax a few seconds to realize she was kidding. Jerry on the other hand was a little slower on the uptake.

"Yeah right sis. Not bloody likely. There is a distinctive line between being sexy and looking downright slutty. And my dears you have definitely crossed that line." Jerry replied as he looked at Larissa.

She shook her head. "Jerry she was joking. I wouldn’t be caught dead in clothes like this back home. You should know that!" Larissa said amusedly.

"Jerry when are you gonna learn?" Kayleigh laughed. "Well baby we better go. We’ll see you at the club then? Kayleigh leaned over and gave Jax a kiss, picked up her purse, fished out the keys and headed for the door. "Come on Riss let’s go."

"Right behind you Tiff." Larissa gave Jerry a quick kiss and followed Kayleigh out the door.

"I tell ya bro. If they didn’t know how to take care of themselves I wouldn’t like this one bit." Jerry said as he lit a cigarette.

"Well you know they can so don’t let it get to you. You in the mood for dancing? I have a feeling we are going to be doing quite a bit of that along with drinking. Kayleigh had a devilish sparkle in her eye when she walked out that door."

"Good lord. Well it’s a good thing the Jacks brothers are so damn charming. Let’s hope we can persuade Tiff and Riss, to take leave of the clubs noisy atmosphere and get the hell out of dodge as soon as possible."

"Jer don’t you mean Alex and George?" Jax laughed.

"Hey speaking of George, why the hell did Kayleigh tag me with that?"

"No idea bro, that’s something you will have to ask her." Jax laughed even harder.

They locked up the safe house and headed out. They decided to check out a few other clubs before they met up with Kayleigh and Larissa.

*************************************************************************************

Kayleigh and Larissa climbed into the window of the ladies room of the club. They then made their way from the ladies room to the bar had a quick drink and then made their exit. Making sure to "chat" with people as if they had been there for hours, on their way out. They then walked a block and a half over to Club Zero. Once they gained entrance, through the front door this time, they perched themselves at the bar and ordered drinks. They hadn’t been there 15 minutes when the first pick up lines were tried on them. Kayleigh and Larissa both shot the guys down with equal precision.

"OK I gotta dance Riss! I love this song. Let’s go." Kayleigh didn’t wait for a reply she grabbed Larissa by the hand and pulled her onto the dance floor.

They continued to dance through the next 5 or 6 songs. Stopping only when the DJ played a slow groove. As soon as they got back to the bar and ordered fresh drinks, Kayleigh felt warm breath on her neck that sent chills down her spine. She didn’t turn around she just smiled.

"Your search is over beautiful, the man of your dreams has arrived." Jax whispered.

"Oye! And what makes you so sure about that? Alex wasn’t it?" Kayleigh turned and faced him. She was still taken aback by Jax’s appearance. She really missed the golden hair and beautiful blue eyes. He wasn’t a bad looker with the dark hair and brown eyes, but she couldn’t wait to get her Jax back.

"Instinct Tiff, pure instinct." Jax teased.

"Well if that’s the case, I better see what kind of moves you have. The man of my dreams has got to know how to dance." Kayleigh said sarcastically as she stood up to lead Jax to the dance floor. Leaving Jerry/George at the bar laughing.

"Don’t get to full of yourself there George." Larissa teased. "Come on let’s go show then how it’s done."

Jerry put his hands out, palms facing Larissa. As if to say. "NO WAY."

"Like that’s gonna stop me?" Larissa laughed as she grabbed Jerry by the arm and dragged him to the dance floor.

Kayleigh and Jax were really getting into the music and having a grand time. That was until they looked over at Larissa and Jerry. They both stopped dancing and stood looking at Jerry astonished. He was jerking his body in every direction, looking as if he was experiencing horrendous muscle spasms.

"Oh my GOD." Kayleigh exclaimed to Jax. "What in the world is he doing? Is he having some sort of convulsions?"

Jax was starting to get embarrassed. "I have no idea what in the hell he is doing but PLEASE let me put him out of his misery." Jax choked out. Trying not to burst into laughter.

Larissa and Jerry kept right on dancing. They were having to much fun to notice or even care what anyone thought.

Kayleigh shook her head. "Leave him alone baby. Obviously it doesn’t bother Larissa. And it is painfully obvious that it doesn’t bother your brother in the least."

"GOD help us all then. There is proof positive that love is definitely blind. You want to go sit down or keep dancing?"

"Hmmmm. Since I have no idea when or if I will ever be able to get you to a club that plays this kind of music again, I think we’ll keep on dancing."

Jax raised his eyebrow. "Why am I not surprised?"

Kayleigh responded with a wink and a smile. As they were dancing Jax spotted Colin walk into the club with a few other men that must have been his flunkies.

"Ten o’clock we have company." Jax leaned over and whispered to Kayleigh.

"Perfect. Now all we have to do is hang around for a bit and then head out. You feel like picking me up?"

Jax gave her a glorious smile. "More then you can imagine."

"Rissa." Kayleigh said loudly to get Larissa’s attention, once she did she nodded her head slightly in the direction of Colin. Larissa turned and looked and smiled to Kayleigh letting her know she saw him.

Exhausted and thirsty Kayleigh, Jax, Jerry and Larissa headed off the dance floor and found a table. Jax and Jerry went to get them more drinks, leaving Colin the opportunity to come over and talk with Kayleigh if he wanted. He wasted no time in doing so.

"Hey Tiff. I didn’t expect to see you around tonight."

"Hey Colin. Riss and I decided to make the most of our last night in London and have some fun."

"Well you managed to pick the hottest club in town. What’s with them?" Colin jerked his head towards Jax and Jerry. "Thought you said that he wasn’t your type."

Kayleigh laughed. "You are aware that it is a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. Besides it’s not like I am ever going to see him after tonight. So what’s a little fun?"

"You really haven’t changed. If you’re looking for THAT kind of entertainment, I can certainly provide it for you."

Kayleigh burst into laughter. "Please! That would be like doin’ it with my own brother."

"You don’t know what your missing. Rissa what about you?"

"Like no way Colin. Sorry but you definitely aren’t my type."

Jax and Jerry walked back over to the table and took their seats next to Kayleigh and Larissa. Jax put his arm around Kayleigh and leaned over and with his free hand brushed his fingers across her right breast. Kayleigh laughed.

"Alex, don’t get ahead of yourself! You might end up blowing it if you aren’t careful."

Colin looked at Jax disgustedly, and then turned to Kayleigh. "Cheers Tiff. Take care of yourself."

"Cheers Colin. Next time I’m in London I’ll look you up."

"You do that Tiff." Colin said over his shoulder as he walked away.

"Well I think we can wrap up this little charade and get the hell out of here." Kayleigh said.

"Yeah I think you’re right luv. Looks like he satisfied his curiosity. Let’s go. I’ll call the pilot and make arrangements to fly out of here as soon as possible."

"Sounds good to me." Jerry and Larissa both added.

They had another round of drinks and then left the club. When they got to the car, Kayleigh pulled out her keys and unlocked the door. She opened the door, threw her purse on the seat.

"Alex come ere’."

"Yeah?" Jax said as he walked over to Kayleigh.

She reached up and grabbed his hair at the nape of his neck and pulled him to her. She kissed him and then pulled her lips away slightly. "We are being watched. Looks like two maybe three men. There’s one across the street in the doorway, two shops down. One down on the corner and the guy that just walked out of the club might be involved, I’m not sure though." She pulled Jax into another kiss.

Jerry was sitting on the hood of their car, Larissa standing directly in front of him. He had his arms wrapped around her waist and they were talking and laughing.

Jax hugged Kayleigh to him. "I see em. You recognize any of them?"

"Yeah, they are Colin’s flunkies. So do I go back into the club and tell him to call them off or do we take them out?"

Jerry hopped off the car and he and Larissa walked over to Kayleigh and Jax. They were joking around as if nothing was amiss.

"We’ve got company bro."

"I know Jer. The question is why and what do we do about it?"

"Uh that’s two questions genius." Jerry teased.

"Shit!" Kayleigh whispered harshly just as shots rang out though the early morning darkness.
