I have recently become a Lucy Lawless/Xena Fan(My nephew got me hooked on the show). The reason for liking her character so much is her strength and determination to succeed. I am a volunteer in Prince William County as an EMT and recently completed 3.5 m nth, grueling,Firefighter I and II class. I am not a youngster, mid 30's, and I am not exactly in the best of physical shape, but watching the show gave me incentive. I don't know why, but her character strength always seemed to help. So, if anyone who kn ws her could tell her, that a Firefighter in PWC really thinks she is doing a great job with encouraging women, and men, to be the best they can be, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have been watching Xena since it started many, many moons ago. I suppose you'd have to call me a fan, although I'm almost thirty! I have seen nearly every episode, up until last night's "Sacrifice", which was marked as 'Final' in the TV guide. When it finished I thought it was the End of the Series. I felt an unexpected sense of loss, like something in my life had changed and was gone forever. My girlfriend felt it too, even though she isn't as dedicated to the show as I am. The point to my message is this, that I think Xena - both the story and the character - has more of an effect on the lives "normal" people around the world than anyone realises (Lucy probably included!). I feel the messages contained in this "young adult's" show are of great value to everyone, and that they do spread hope to MANY people around our world. It is a tribute to the producers and the media in general that such a popular Prime Time TV series gives positive, empowering messages to a wide audience, while not taking itself too seriously. I also feel that the success and appeal of the show is almost totally due to Lucy's love and dedication to her role as Xena. Although she has claimed many times that her and Xena are quite different, I feel it is only because of Lucy's genuine belief in w o she is and what she is doing as Xena that gives it such credibility - and people can tell. That's why people like myself feel it is so good and so real, and are "strangely" affected so deeply. Thank you Lucy, for Xena - People's Hero of the 90's.

I have never seen Lucy Lawless, but everywhere I go people think that I am her. I get asked for my autograph or I just get stared at with people whispering "Wow she looks just like Xena." I finally deceided for halloween I would dress up as her. When I ca e out after trying on my costume the little kids started yelling "Mommy, Mommy Xena's here" It's been pretty interesting.
