Angel

On the streets of Dallas we hear tires screeching as we then see a maroon sedan being chased by Walker's Silver Dodge truck. Inside Walker's truck we hear him call up on the radio that he's headed up Freemont and Trivette calls in that he's flanking him. Trivette asks if shots have been fired, but just after Walker tells him no, shots have been fired.

So then Walker makes a correction in his statement as we see the sedan hit a blue car and a passenger continue to learn out the car and fire shots at Walker. The sedan then hits a large SUV, causing the SUV to spin as the sedan shows heavy front-end damage, but continues to flee from Walker's truck.

The sedan then goes through a construction zone, knocking out the work van's doors (haven't we seen this scene before with another vehicle?) as Walker continues the chase. Trivette then tells Walker that he's comin' in to close up. We see Trivette's Ford come around and block the road in which the sedan is traveling and Trivette is standing behind it with his gun drawn. Only one thing, as the sedan comes down the road it doesn't stop and Trivette dives out of the way.

The four occupants of the sedan get out and two make a run for it, but Trivette holds the other two in the car, as Walker goes for the other two. Trivette slams one of his perpetrators into the trunk of the car as he keeps his weapon trained on the other still in the back seat, while Walker stops the other two and takes them down with a little hand to hand.

On that same scene, we see officers taking in the scene and securing it while an ambulance takes care of an injury on site. The perpetrators are being taken away as Trivette checks off what the four are being held for -- grand theft, bank robbery, auto theft, assaulting civilians and police, and various weapons violations. Then Trivette comments about the guys wrecking his car.

As the two rangers walk back to the truck, Trivette asks Walker if he's going up to Camp Justice to see Luther. Walker says that he'll head over there after he's had lunch at CD's, and tells Trivette that Luther's throwing out an idea for the trustees.

Trivette then tells Walker not to worry about a thing while he's gone that things will be looked after. But Walker, being the smart-ass, begins to look at Trivette like he should worry about not worrying and takes Trivette through a little fun ride. But soon enough Trivette catches on and asks his partner if he's being messed with and Walker tells him yes, but not to worry about it.

Over at CD's, we see Walker and CD sitting for a game of chess and Alex standing off to the side watching. She asks if Walker is still going to Camp Justice and Walker tells her as soon as he's finished up the game with CD. Walker says that he might not get to Camp Justice until next week, by the run of the game, but then CD places his piece and calls check. Alex looks surprised and Walker grabs his leather jacket and gets up to leave, giving Alex a kiss before he picks up a chess piece and calls check mate.

As Walker leaves, CD looks down at the board completely puzzled to how Walker did that and he asks Alex. Alex just looks at him with a smile being held back across her face as she tells him that she hasn't a clue, but that CD asks her that same question every time.

At Ranger HQ, we see Trivette at his desk going through some paper work as a woman comes up to his desk and calls out his name. Trivette looks up and is immediately shocked as to who is in front of him. With his eyes continually on this woman, Trivette carefully gets up from his seat, comes around the desk and looks the woman up and down as he calls her Angel Blake.

Angel, just stands there as Trivette gives her the once over and tells him it's been 15years since they last saw each other, when he asks.

We're back in Ranger HQ watching Angel and Trivette walking down the hall with coffee cups in their hands as she tells him that she's been looking for her missing father. She continues to tell him that after graduation she went home to find that her father had left her mother without notice, and that she knows he's alive cause someone she knows in the Dallas area has seen him.

Trivette asks Angel if she has a picture of her father and she walks over to a bench in the hallway to pull one out of her purse. As she does this, she tells Trivette that's he changed his name from Frank Blake to Gaston cause of some possible gambling problems. Trivette then asks Angel why she wants to find her father, and she tells him that her mother passed away a year ago and that he's all the family she has left.

Somewhere on the road, we see Walker in his truck taking off his hat and then see new recruits for Camp Justice being released for 'camp' under Luther Dobb's instruction.

We then flash back into Walker and hear Trivette's voice as he tells Angel that he'll do what he can to help her find her father.

Over to Ranger HQ, Angel has handed a pick of Frank Gaston to Trivette and he looks at it, asking if she'd mind that he kept the picture and questions her about his gambling. She tells him that his game was poker and that he'd look a bit older than the pic she'd just given him. She also calls Trivette on wanting to be by his side when he goes looking for her father, cause if she'd have to stay in the hotel; she'd go stir crazy.

Trivette has some reservations about taking Angel with him, but he gives in and tells her that he'll pick her up in the morning. Angel then tells Trivette where she's staying and pulls closer to him to give him a peck on the lips, leaving Trivette standing there in the hall of Ranger HQ.

That night at CD's Trivette is playing CD at a game of chess and Alex is listening to Jimmy tell her about when he met Angel. He tells her that he met Angel in the library, cause he was studying for a coming exam, but that he'd fallen asleep there since his coach had him doing double duty practice for losing a big game. He tells Alex that he felt some one shake him and hand him a cup of coffee.

At this point Alex calls it up as being Angel and we hear CD call check as he moves his piece on the board. Jimmy takes a look at the board and moves his piece, calling mate to CD and asking CD if he wants another round.

As Trivette continues to rub CD about hitting for another round, Alex grabs his arm and pulls him to a table so she can hear the rest of his story on being with Angel. CD looks at the board in disbelief as Alex is now at table probing Trivette for more of the story.

He tells her that they dated, then after their graduation she wanted him to commit to her and he said that he couldn't do it. So he went to play football for the Dallas Cowboys and then Angel disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Then Trivette sits back and repeats Alex's words of there being that special someone out there for every one. She repeats it with him, as Trivette tells her that Angel has never left his memory. Alex tells him that she knows how much Angel must mean, but that it has been 15 years and a lot can happen in that time (a whole lot more than he knows). Alex continues her warning, but Trivette tells her that he's just doin' a favour for her (Oh yeah Alex is sure to believe that one).

Meanwhile CD calls back to the two, and tells them to quit the 'girl talk' he wants a rematch. Trivette answers that call from CD and winks to Alex as CD starts talkin trash to Trivette.

Later that day from the Mayfair Hotel, we see Angel walking out and into a car. As she enters the car, she asks the driver if this is his car. Trivette replies that it's a loaner since his is in the shop. And Angel's reply to this is 'bummer' (she just didn't say bummer, I must have heard wrong.) Trivette asks her if she'd said bummer and she stammers for a moment, telling him to drive. As he does so, Trivette can't help but laugh.

Moments later, the two arrive at a bar and Trivette moves to question the owner about Angel's father as Angel moves off to the side to sit. The bar owner says that he doesn't know the guy and that poker gamblin' is illegal. But Trivette knows, better and tells him to take a good look at the picture and that he knows games go on in the back room, and that he'll forget about it if he can get his question answered.

Meanwhile two grungy looking guys begin to harass Angel for a drink (I'd say sure, if they're drinking Listerine). After a few more words she gets up, but the longhaired thug grabs her arm and begins to harass her for a kiss. Trivette steps in, but the longhaired thug says that he'll leave Angel alone but not Trivette.

So, what usually happens here is a good ol' bar fight, with Trivette as the winner. He then tells Angel that it's time to go and she moves without hesitation.

Outside the bar, Angel praises Trivette for his ability and as he moves to the passenger car door, a little boy falls off his bike. Trivette rushes to the boy and checks on him. Seeing that the boy has dropped his ice cream, he takes the boy over to the ice cream truck and buys him a new one. He then makes sure the boy is safely on his bike then returns to his car. (aw isn't he sweet) {editor's note -- yes, sweet, but, uh, does this kid know Trivette is a cop? Didn't the kid's mom ever warn him about strangers? Yeah, yeah, I know, he had to show Sweetiepie he is a nice guy, I know... Still made me cringe.}

He opens the door for Angel (he left he car door open!! Big no, no) and as he gets in she says that he hasn't changed. Trivette questions what she means and she clarifies by telling him that he's still the best natured man she's ever met. Trivette just stares at her and after a few moments' turns the car on and pulls into traffic.

That afternoon (about sundown) Trivette drops Angel off at her Hotel. While in the car, Angel comments that she's got money and she can hire a private investigator (tee hee, hee). Trivette asks her why she didn't do it in the first place and she replies that she wanted to see him again. She then asks if Trivette thinks people can go back to the simpler ways that used to be, but Trivette tells her that he believes in moving forward. Then he leans in for a small kiss and Angel hops out of the car, after he tells her that he'll call when he gets something.

Next day in HQ, Trivette is walking down the hall when Alex comes off his right side and asks him about Angel. Trivette just smiles and says that everything's fine and Alex says that she's happy.

Just before they depart, she asks Trivette if he's heard from Walker. After he says no, she wonders what he's doing at Camp Justice. Trivette assures her that he's just there for moral support and is giving Luther some pep talks.

We then flip to footage of Walker training some of the Camp program kids (this footage is from the ep. Camp Justice since we see Trivette and he's not there, but at Ranger HQ).

Over at his desk, Trivette is handling some papers when he sees his computer flashing an incoming message. He takes a look at the message and it has the information he's been waiting for on Angel's father.

After he picks her up, the two go to the location of Angel's father to check that it really is him. In the car Angel is telling Trivette that she knew he'd be able to find her father, but Trivette brings her to reality that he's just found a Frank Gaston and it may not be her father. She says that she knows that, but it's a chance and that if it's not him they still have time to keep looking.

The two arrive at the Gaston residence and Trivette knocks on the door after knocking several times and peeking into the window to see if someone's home. We see inside that a man is listening to his stereo playing loud jazz music.

Well, Angel gets antsy and she grabs the door and opens it. Trivette scolds her for it, but she tells him that she has to know before not knowing kills her. As the two enter the house, Trivette enters the room where Gaston is and calls out his name. Gaston doesn't hear him so Trivette moves closer to him, this time startling Gaston and getting his attention (give the guy a heart attack why don't ya).

But as we see Angel, she pulls out a small revolver and shoots Gaston twice as Trivette is speaking to Gaston. At the site before him Trivette pulls back, and turns to Angel but he hasn't drawn his gun (what are you stupid!!!). Angel points the little revolver at him and tells Trivette to turn around. All he can do is stare at her in shock as we see smoke coming from the gun and hear Angel repeat her order.

Trivette finally does so, and she walks up to hit him over the head with the gun. Trivette hits the floor and Angel says that she hopes that she won't regret what she's just done (hehe, just wait and see).

At the Gaston house, we see a flurry of police activity securing the crime scene and a man in dark clothing crossing the front yard to an ambulance. We come to see that this man is Carlos as he takes off his sunglasses and asks Trivette if he knew the victim. Trivette asks why Carlos is on the scene and he explains that he's been put on the anticrime unit for now.

Trivette questions this and then Carlos says that he's been working on a case concerning the business of the Andros Gang and their illegal activities. So Trivette asks what's Gaston's connection to the Andros Gang. Carlos looks at Trivette a bit perplexed and repeats the name Gaston (anybody else feel like watching Beauty and the Beast?).

Trivette clarifies, by saying the victim, but Carlos tells him that the victim wasn't Gaston it was Frank Granville. Trivette takes a moment to register the name and asks if that's the same guy who put away Regg Andros for his dealings (uh oh, someone feels like they are in trouble).

The two discuss the case further with Carlos saying that Granville got immunity and changed his name for safety. At this point Trivette has exited the ambulance and is walking away from the scene, leaving Carlos standing and staring at his back (smooth move with the sunglasses) {editor's note -- glad I am not the only one who thought that re the sunglasses}.

That night at a club (hey the music is different!!) in a private office we see three dark men. The leader of this group speaks with a heavy Jamaican accent and is telling the other two that Frank Granville has been taken care of.

One of them speaks saying that Regg will like the silencing of Granville and the leader, Ray, agrees on that. The third man in the room comments on Angel (The Angel of Death as called) did her job and asks if the money before them is her payment.

Ray, side rolls his eyes and tells his boys that Angel isn't getting any money and that when they meet her the next morning that they hare to kill her fast.

The larger of the two boys questions his boss about killing Angel and Ray challenges that question. The boy backs saying that if he's going to do her that he'd need more men. But Ray won't have it and waves his knife in front of his boys to get his point across. The two boys leave and Ray retracts his blade.

At Ranger HQ, Trivette is on the phone with Walker telling him that Angel was probably hired by Andros to square off the playing field for Granville's betrayal. Trivette then continues by saying that Angel picked a perfect mark to get what she needed (gee like that's a surprise).

But on the other side Walker comforts Trivette by saying that he's got good instincts and that Angel must have been playing it awfully thick not to have been found out sooner. Walker then asks for his plan.

Trivette tells him that he found Angel's real father, Wayne Blake and that he died five years earlier. Walker then asks Trivette if he's checked the hotel where Angel was staying. Trivette says that he did and has officers out looking for her, but that she had left her room at the Mayfair hotel 'as clean as snow.'

Walker then mumbles that Angel was a professional and Trivette comments that the Andros gang probably hired her. He then asks Walker how a liberal arts major turns to a hired hitman, and Walker tells Trivette that he can ask her when he catches her (boy these guys haven't seen some of the nuts at a college have they?).

Then Trivette tells Walker that she could have killed him, and Walker comments that she could have and it was a big mistake that she didn't (anybody else feel loved right now?). Walker then asks why she didn't kill Trivette and he tells Walker that he'll ask her when he catches her.

Trivette hangs up the phone and we suddenly move across the city at sunset, where we see a grey coloured Lincoln pull up to a road and park. We find that it's two of the Andros gang members waiting to set up and kill Angel.

The driver tells Luke that if he has to, empty the entire clip. Luke then gets out of the car and goes off to ambush Angel (there goes that Undercover club music again).

What happens instead is Angel comes behind Luke and slits his throat. Angel pops out as the other guy is hovering over Luke and asks if she needs to look in the suitcase. The guy tries to pull his gun on Angel, but she's already fired and he plows into the car's side. She then comes up to the guy who is now holding his ear and tells him to tell Andros that her price has doubled and then she kicks the guy.

Down the street the camera pans out and we see a kid walking his bike. As we fade back into the area, we see the police are on the scene. Carlos tells a fellow officer to take the young witness' statement and then walks over to Trivette.

Trivette asks for the latest info and Carlos tells him that the boy saw everything and that the person who killed Luke was a black lady (Angel has done it again).

Looking towards a nearby street, Trivette identifies his car and tells Carlos that Angel would not have left any prints. Carlos confirms this as forensics was all over the car. (umm, anybody notice that Carlos' hair is a little too shiny in the sun, less gel and hairspray is a good way to quell the glare dear) {editor's note -- NO! I was WAY too busy mumbling/chanting "It's still Carlos under that doll hair**" over and over in an attempt to control my rising panic at actually thinking his hair might look better shorter (it is simply not possible for a man's hair to be too long, so this was a very scarey thought for me). I finally got the panic to leave by thinking how NICE it would look after all that goo was washed out of it and... Uh, sorry, what was I talking about? Oh, yes -- no, I didn't notice the the glare. **doll hair -- what a doll's hair looks like after it has been packed away in a box too long.}

Carlos then hands Trivette a bag with the keys and a note saying "Bummer!" on it. Trivette says he knows what it means, and then Carlos begins to tell Trivette that the Andros gang is still under investigation and that his 'friend' is starting to be a real pain.

Trivette hits back with that Angel is no longer a friend, but a killer, a killer that he will take in.

Over at the Andros studio area. The guy who got shot in the ear is explaining to Regg that Angel turned the ambush against them, killed Luke and shot his ear off. Regg then hits the guy's wounded ear and complains that two guys couldn't take care of a little woman (never under estimate the power of a woman). But the guy tells him that Angel is more than just a woman.

Regg, holding a news article, says that when Angel killed Granville, she left Trivette alive. And because she did that, Trivette was her weakness. So then Regg tells this guy that he's going to kill Trivette and Angel.

That night, while the Andros gang is having a 'private party', Trivette is outside the complex looking out for Angel. And of course, Angel shows up. She's using a white van and workers clothes to get into the complex, but as she's preparing, Trivette comes to the back of the van to stop her.

Trivette draws his weapon and tells her to put her hands up. She draws her weapon and she then babbles about how she's waited for the moment when she'd met her match. Trivette then tells her to drop her weapon, but she won't do it.

And as these two continue back and forth how Jimmy should join Angel cause she needs a strong man like him and they could live comfortably, one of the Andros members goes out to the terrace and sees the two down below. Seeing this, the cloud clears from this guy and he tells the others that Angel is down below. This causes a nice gun fight and just as one of the guys is about to hit Trivette, Angel shoots the guy and saves Trivette. And just as soon as Trivette turns back to Angel, she's gone like the wind.

A bit later, Carlos comes out from the club/apartment complex and goes over to Trivette. The police have the scene locked, as Trivette is trying to get more info about Angel. Carlos tells Trivette that Andros told him Angel fired first. Trivette tells him yes, but that Angel saved his life.

The next morning, Walker is on the phone with Trivette asking if he's got the whole city covered to find Angel. Trivette says yes and the he even has the anti-crime unit helping. Walker then tells Trivette that he needs to step back and clear his mind, Trivette says he can do that and goes off to shoot the hoops (there goes that Undercover club music again).

While Trivete is shooting the ball, Angel comes up to him and puts her guns on the roof of his car and gives him a tape of the Andros gang ordering Granville's death. At this time the two engage in another 'how could you turn to this' conversation, when the Andros gang sets up a drive by. Trivette and Angel return fire and once again she's gone like the wind.

Over in Alex's office, she and Trivette watch the tape. Alex says that this is enough evidence to get the Andros gang. Trivette says that he'll get a task force together and Alex tells him that she's sorry things turned out the way they did. Trivette says that he's sorry too and then leaves to assemble his group.

Back over at the Andros studio, Regg is saying that he sent out four good men and they can't kill a simple woman or Trivette. Then he tells them, that they will finish the job.

Meanwhile the task force hits the club and there is resistance as the police raid the club. Regg sees the police and makes a run back up to his office to get his money and get out fast. As Trivette takes two guys down, we watch Carlos get a few good hits with another (the hair just doesn't move) {editor's note -- I am SOOO glad it was not just me who had a problem with his hair in this one}. And then he does a half spin back kick to a second man.

Trivette then leaves the bottom floor and goes after Regg. As we see Regg enter his office, he opens a safe and pulls out his money. At this point we see Angel in the room and she's waiting to get the owed money from Regg.

As he tries to turn and shoot Angel, she's faster and shoots him first. She then goes to pick up the money, but Trivette enters to take Angel in. She puts her weapon down and he congratulates her on her plan to get her money. But as Trivette is speaking and Angel begins to say something, Regg gets up and shoots Angel.

Trivette shoots Regg and he runs to Angel. As he's holding her, he flashes back to when he was helping her find Gaston and then she says that she's sorry, before dying in Trivette's arms. Trivette continues with his flashback as Angel lies dead in his arms.
