[09-08-02]i just saw the first lord of the rings movie... its very good. but they missed so much stuff out. the book was heaps better, except for maybe the fight scenes. becuase the fight scenes were good. but they can't miss that much stuff out. its just not right. I only actually got up to half way through the second book, but im going to start reading them again. ive been inspired. *que trumpets* yep.i think it's a classic that the second book is called the two towers and they are calling the movie that. in america. i mean, americans are so touchy about that, and yet they are going to calling the movie the two towers. i mean, can it GET any closer to the twin towers? i dont think so. I think in book to film adaptions that harry potter was actually better. i loved that movie =) It was really good and i didnt think that they missed that much stuff out. definately not as much stuff as the LOTR movie. especially obvious when they get to Rivendell and they have apparantly been going for ages but in the movie it seems like a couple of days. it loses the impact a bit. And i didnt think that they had enough of the horses... And isn't aragon supposed to be green? not like green skin but green as in gandalf the GREY. hmm... maybe it was just an impression i got. See, that's another thing, you HAD to read the book before you saw the movie, otherwise its just not right. becuase then you have the actors as what you see in your head. cause i know that gandalf and aragon were DEFINATELY not like that in MY head. And dumbledore. He was NOT that old. and not that beardy. But... again, they are MY impressions. Now, enough about movies, i have to play hockey at 8.30 tomorrow morning. i mean, how evil is that. normally matches dont start till 9.00, but at this ground they go on the half hour for some reason, so they start at 8.30. and yay, i managed to get that time. but apparantly we may actually be able to win this match... thats definately a first. because we are playing rosny, and i think that they are as bad as us. we have played them before, but that was like our first or second game, and we may not be that good, but we have DEFINATELY improved since then. Yep. Definately. Considering our team is half made up of people who are first year players, so you have to expect our first few games to be crap. we have got one goal all season, well, two if you count the one that someone got for the OTHER team. but that was hilarious. thats a good thing actually, we dont care if we win, unlike the private schools etc. i think it actually puts the other teams off a bit, because we laugh all the time, at ourselves. i mean, one person on our team actually wore cow print pj bottoms under her skirt because they are 'lucky'. its very funny. the teams we play think we are crazy, but what do you expect coming from Claremont. ^_^

[08-08-02]Today was the last day of mid year exams. how happy am i? very... today i had english which was HARD. I had to write 3 essays in 3 hours. It was alright i suppose, but really, do i care whether the characters in cloudstreet find unity and belonging or how Frank Darabont uses techniques to create a mood and atmosphere? no. i dont think so. and when am i ever going to need to do this in real life... i mean, im not going to become a film critic or anything. but i suppose, overall the exam was alright... i blabbered a bit in my Cloudstreet essay but i think i brought it all together in the end. Tonight as you can see i did a complete overhall of my website, but its still a bit iffy, because i was just mucking with frames. And i still need a background picture or something. Hopefully it wont be long now till i get a computer of my own which i can put a decent graphics program on. Hmm... I can't be bothered going in to the saga of who gets the new computer between me and my brother, but i can be bothered telling you that it might not be me. and if it isnt me, my brother gets a completely new computer and i get his old one. now his old computer is still bloody good, i just can't see why he cant keep it. The ONLY upside, well one of two, is that I would get the DVD drive in my brothers computer whereas if i got the new one i wouldnt. thats if hes not completely evil and puts the DVD drive in the new computer. the other upside is that i get a bit of handmedown emotional blackmail. hmm... i know what you are thinking, poor you, you get a computer, well... handmedowns can be pretty depressing when your the youngest child. i know, the youngest child is supposed to be the baby and gets away with everything, but the oldest child gets all the new stuff im sorry to say. and more money. oh well... ill get over it... hmm... i cant wait till uni. judging from what my brother does, you dont actually have to do anything. he hardly ever goes. oh well... it seemed that way when he went to college and i didnt. thats another thing. they always get to do everything first. and always get the longer holidays first. when i was in grade 8 and 9, he got longer holidays then me. when i finally got longer holidays in year 10 he got even longer ones. now im in year 11 he never goes to school. very annoying from the point of view of the youngest. imagine being an only child... bliss. i mean.. who cares about being lonely occasionally when there is no one to bother you all the time. I would love to live by myself for a year or so... that would be sooo good. because you could just come round home for a chat and some food, and then go back to your house. to be by yourself. without everyone being annoying... and they wouldnt be on the internet all the time. well... thats enough blabbering for me... goodnight.
