To connect to chat while using AOL, do the following:

Connect to AOL, go to the Word Wide Web, minimize the AOL window and launch a Java enabled browser. You can download Netscape Navigator v3.01 from http://www.netscape.com (I recommend and personally use Netscape) or Microsoft Internet Explorer v3.0 from http://www.microsoft.com or you can just go to keyword "MM Showcase". The keyword way is the easiest way in my opinion. Once there, click on the "Netscape Now" graphic and then click on "Download Netscape" in the menu. And don't worry, as long as you already have an Internet connection, you can download free versions.

The reason you have to do this is, you must be using a Java enabled browser to visit the chatroom, and AOL is not one.
