THE NEPTUNE PASSENGERS FIGHT TO SURVIVE:
SENDING OUT AN S.O.S.: Elsewhere on the ship, Cole, Caitlin and Francesca leave an unconscious Philip tied up in knots as they search for a safe haven. Curt, Philip's henchman, spies them and pulls a gun -- intent on carrying out Philip's murderous plot. Cole overcomes Curt, but a series of explosions send Francesca flying. When Cole rushes to her rescue, Caitlin is upset. Francesca is too weak to walk, so Cole searches for Philip's radio to send an S.O.S. Francesca confesses to Antonio that she still loves Cole deeply. Caitlin later finds Cole fixing the radio, just as an escaped Philip fires a gun -- shooting out the radio. Wanting Francesca to witness Cole's murder, Philip drags Cole and Caitlin back to Francesca's side. He shoots at Cole, but Francesca leaps to her love's defense and takes the bullet. Cole lunges for the attacker, and in the struggle, the gun goes off, killing Philip.
LOVE ON THE ROCKS: Trapped in the apartment house basement, Vanessa and Michael make love. Afterward, Michael informs Vanessa that he injected himself with Martin's Syndrome to be the guinea pig for Tyus's experimental cure. Later, when they're safely out of the basement, a contrite Virginia confesses that she dropped the vial containing the cure for Martin's Syndrome. Vanessa is wracked with guilt over Michael's sacrifice.
SWIMMING WITH SHARKS: Casey and Sara come out of their drug-induced state to discover they're trapped in Melinda's water-filled stateroom. They escape and locate an oxygen tank to help them maneuver through the submerged ship. Sara fantasizes that she and Casey fall madly in love. They come upon a desperate Melinda, who begs to share the tank. Sara agrees to help her conniving "friend." Unbeknownst to Sara, Melinda has every intention of selling the provocative photos of Sara and Casey. All three dive and emerge outside the Neptune. Melinda swims after her floating film, but instead of getting her photos, she gets her just desserts in the jaws of a shark!
POSEIDON ADVENTURE: Ricardo realizes that the survivors must crawl up an air shaft before the pipes explode. Melinda's photographer, Bruce gets blasted by steam and falls down the shaft to his death. A rung supporting Gabi breaks, forcing Ricardo to pull her up by hand. An explosion kills passenger Nora and nearly kills Emily. With the ladder rendered useless, Ricardo uses a fire hose to pull Caitlin and a wounded Francesca to safety. But the hose gives way before Cole and Antonio are rescued. Later, Gabi tries to save Ricardo, who is trapped in an underwater passageway.
CRITICAL LIST: Back on land, the mystery woman helps Meg search for supplies. She spots a photo of Ben -- but has no reaction.... Carmen is convinced that Maria is alive.... Trey continues to fight for his life as Olivia comes close to revealing to A.J. that she is Trey's birth mother. Annie warns Olivia to keep her mouth shut -- causing Liv to lose her cool. If Trey dies, Olivia warns Annie, she'll blab all about Annie's wicked ways. Later, Gregory and A.J. take off in a chopper to rescue their loved ones aboard the sinking ship.
