A TALE OF TWO MUSES
The episode that was on the week of 11/7/98, A Tale of Two Muses. was VERY subtext friendly. General plot summery; Tara, who you'll remember from "Forgiven", Has found a new home, family, and love. But then she is caught, doing what it considered to be a very bad thing. Dancing. She is about to be publicly whipped, when Xena and Gab show up, and stop it. The town magistrate is convinced to let her go with a banishment. Tara leaves with our Heroines, but they turn around, at her pleading to help her change the town. Xena acts like she thinks dancing is bad, and a guy like a miricle man, who preaches against dancing shows up... It is Autolycles. He is here at Xena's request. They try to change the towns mind and say that they are teaching the kids war fare, but they are really learning dance. To make a long story short, the episode ends in a big fight, in the middle of a dance, fancy stuff. It was pretty cool. Lucy and Renee are good dancer.
ON TO THE SUBTEXT; When Tara's friend (does anyone rember his name?) asks, "are you sure you won't sleep in the shop" Gabrielle says no. And why you ask doese she say no? What could she want to do in a barn? well.. i'll leave that up to your imagination. Gabrielle keeps on bouncing, to a rythm. Xena wants her to stop, and, did you see where she put her hand? Ahem.

CRUSADER
Week of 11/21/98: The episode, Crusader, was VERY subtext friendly. General plot summery; Xena and Gab are attacked, but he attacker relizes they are not someone else, and calls off the attack. the attacker was Najara. a woman on a crusade against evil, guided by voices, the gjin. Gab really like her ideals. Xena is OK with it. Najara kinda starts to hit on Gabrielle, at witch point Xena gets a bit bugged. Najara knows that Xena has seen her and Gabrielle's death. Najara wanted to start a hospice, and Xena convinces her to do it right now. She makes the plan to leave, without Gab, so gab won't die with her. but then she finds out that Najara kills her captives. She goes back. Najara beats her good. a chase ensues, and Xena uses Gab as bait, since Xena's one weakness is Najara's weakness too. In the end, Najara goes to prison, Gab goes with Xena
ON TO THE SUBTEXT; Xena got really jealous this week. I'll jsut name a few points, but there are many more. When Xena, Gab, Najara, and her army are on the march, Najara and Gab decide to go bird watching. when she pulled Gab up on her horse, Xena was giving killer looks, ya know, "Well I am sorry i am not as romantic as her". She and Gab are having a stroll by the lake, and Xena sees, another look. Also, Najara has Xena's same weakness, Gabrielle, come on, you knwo what i mean. To sum is all up from the horses mouth, "But if I can't have her, nobody's gonna have her" -Xena. when Najara takes Gabrielle
