Fred Jones

Frank Welker
Fred is the serious leader of the gang. He drives the Mystery machine, and builds traps to capture the villain at the end of the episode. Although he doesn't care much for Shaggy's cowardly attitude, he is generally tolerant of everything. He likes to split up the gang so they could supposedly cover the area faster, although it is suspicious that he goes with Daphne ALL THE TIME. Rarely jokes, takes action instead. Has only laughed once (by himself). Tells everyone what to do. Second smartest after Velma. He likes addressing his friends as "gang".

Likes: Daphne, solving mysteries, Driving, splitting up the gang, being helpful.

Hates: The mystery machine stuffing up, His traps stuffing up, Shaggy and Scooby running away and acting generally cowardly.

Role:Leader

Says: Let's Split up, gang! or It looks like we got another mystery to solve.

Daphne Blake

Heather North
Daphne doesn't do much. She gets captured often and make comments on their current situation. I don't really mind, since she's pretty good looking. She makes the Scooby snacks (I think), and goes off with Fred whenever the gang splits up. She's rich, and finances the gang's trip across America. Gets locked up more often than anyone else. Obviously attracted to Fred (Although she never says it, it's not hard to tell by the things she does). Sometimes she tries to persuade Shaggy and Scooby that ghosts don't exist, and sometimes she votes in favour of them. Daphne becomes a reporter later on in the series, and gets a new wardrobe in the newer Scooby Doo episodes. Is very fasion concious, which is sometimes a helpful thing. Often offers Scooby some Scooby Snacks. Rarely gets paired with anyone except Fred.

Likes: Fred, Fasionable dress.

Hates: Getting her hair wet, getting captured, accidently triggering the trap/secret door.

Role:Sex appeal. Money supplier.

Says: Jeepers! or Would you do it for a Scooby Snack?

Velma Dinkley

Nicole Jaffe
Velma speaks all known languages, can do calculus in seconds, and knows more general knowledge than an encyclopaedia. Despite this, she was one of the least liked charachters in the show. She wears a shapeless sweater and a miniskirt, as well as thick Coke-bottle glasses. A common mistake in the later episodes is that the animators are too lazy to color in her glasses, giving the impression that she is just wearing the frames. She is the one who solves all the mysteries, and always has it figured out from two clues. Her only flaw is that she loses her glasses occasionally, and becomes a disaster area until Shaggy eventually finds them. belives in logic more than Mr. Spock. Doesn't belive in ghosts. Has a sharp eye for clues. Must have watched a lot of game shows, because she knows more general knowledge than Trivial Pursuit. (Like confetti is rounded, not square)

Likes: solving mysteries. Teasing Shaggy and Scooby about being cowards.

Hates: losing her glasses, getting lost, bats, not being able to figure out the mystery.

Role:Mystery Solver. Genius

Says: Jinkies! or It's all starting to make sense now (Or something to that effect).

Norville 'Shaggy' Rogers

Casey Kasem
Shaggy was my favourite character. He's the presumed owner of Scooby. He can make a joke out of anything the gang says, and actually make sense, as well as be funny. He is the owner of Scooby, and has the special ability to consume any mount of food without overeating. He can understand Scooby perfectly. He has this strange squeaky voice, and likes to disguise himself with Scooby to confuse the villain. Laughs a lot, even when he's being chased by ghosts and ghouls. He gets paired off with Scooby when it's time to split up. Runs at the first sign of danger. Is scared of everything. Shaggy was a real beatnik, with a green T-shirt, bell bottoms, a goatee, and a permanent silly smile glued to his face. Mainly along for the comic relif, but sometimes finds a clue. Has a strange way of walking, and likes a good joke. His permanent prefix "Like" is attached to everything he says, and can withstand a large amount of punishment. He runs into something almost every episode. Says "Zoiks!" or "Zoinks!". I swear it's "Zoiks!", but both Casey Kasem and Hanna-Barbera spell it "Zoinks!", so I suppose that's the correct spelling. He is supposed to be of Austrian descent, although I don't see how that could be.

Likes: Food (esp. Scooby Snacks)

Hates: Creepy Villans, solving mysteries, anything remotley scary (and a lot of stuff that isn't) Splitting up and unwittingly finding the villain.

Role:Comic Relief. Resident Coward. Professional Bait.

Says: Zoinks! or Scooby Doo! Where Are You?

Scoobert 'Scooby' Doo

Don Messick
A cowardly great dane that travels with the gang. When he was being designed, his attributes were the exact opposite to that of a prize great dane. Despite this, he is still a very interesting character. Although a little hard to understand when he says more than three words at once, (What do you expect? He's a dog!), he is an important charachter. Sometimes he contributes by sniffing out a clue or a villain, but normally he is with Shaggy to make one of the most memorable cartoon duos. He shares Shaggy's ability to eat anything and everything, and normally steals Shaggy's food when he isn't looking (and even when he is). Whimpers a lot when Fred wants him to enter dark rooms, sniff out villains, etc. Loves Scooby Snacks.

Likes: Scooby Snacks, Food, Drink, laughing at Shaggy, being lazy, running around with Shaggy

Hates: His annoying nephew, Scary things (Read: Anything)

Role:Star of the show. Deputy Coward. Assistant Comical Relief. Veteran Bait

Says: Scooby Dooby Doo!
