The Lines You Love!!
Part Seven

BALLROOM BLITZ
(Emily gets Lizzie to try on a beautifull ball gown)

Lizzie: {With the dress she was admiring on} "You know, I still feel silly. We didn't come here to play dress-up."

Emily: "Yeah, but we did come here to look at pictures of me playing dress-up, and since we don't have the loupes and the guys do, I don't see any problem with it. Unless it really does make you uncomfortable. Because if it does, we can stop."

Lizzie: "Uncomfortable? You mean beyond the fact that we could get arrested any minute from now?"

Emily: "You know, if somebody was looking at us in a mirror, I'm sure that they would never guess in a million years that I was the model."

Nikolas: {Coming around the corner} "I'm telling you, it's not the one."

Lucky: "Well, I think it is. I want Emily to see the photograph the blackmailer sent--" {Catching site of Lizzie, he stops cold}

Lizzie: "Is it our turn to take those?"

Lucky: "No."

Lizzie: "Well, then will you please go away, because I feel like a little girl who just got caught serving tea to her dolls." {Nikolas, who is watching them, smiles and then looks back at the pictures}

Lucky: "You don't look like one."

Lizzie: "I've got to get out of this thing."

Lucky: "Why? Says who?"

Nikolas: "Yeah, it looks like it was made for you."

Emily: "Oh, well, Nikolas, why don't you show Liz some of those dance moves that you showed me that night. You're a good dancer."

Lizzie: "Lucky's a good dancer, too. I didn't say we never danced at all."

Emily: "Nikolas was trained by a dance master."
{Nikolas shows Lizzie how to waltz as a jelious Lucky watches}

Lizzie: "I think I've got it."

Nikolas: "I think so, too. {Lucky walks over and taps Nikolas' shoulder} Cutting in?"

Lucky: "Yeah."

Nikolas: "All yours." {He walks away as Lucky takes Lizzie into his arms}

Lizzie: "Ready? Ok. I feel like someone's taking my picture."

Lucky: "Somebody is."

FIRST DAY WORKING AT DOWNTOWN FACES

Lucky: "Delivering mail."

Yergin: "To whom? There's not an office within 30 yards of reception. What did you think? You were just going to come in here, ogle all the girls? Or is it just that you have the hots for Miss Webber, hmm?"

Lizzie: "Mr. Yergin, he really doesn't mean any harm. He was just flirting. But now that he knows I'm going steady with somebody else, I'm sure it's not going to happen again. Isn't that right, Lucky?"

Lucky: "Absolutely. I would never move in on another man's turf." {Lizzie gives him a look behind Yergin's back}

FINALLY SOME CLOSURE
(Lizzie finally knows who raped her)

Lizzie: "I know. I know. He wanted me to know that it was him. And all of a sudden, I could smell that soap on his skin, that same spicy smell. And I was back in that night, in the cold, flying backwards off the bench with the sky tilting above me and his hand over my mouth and being slammed on the ground and--"

Lucky: {Lucky pulls her into his arms} "You know that it's over, right?"

Lizzie: "And I could see him--finally. {They pull apart} Him--lying on top of me, breathing ‘not a word' and hurting me so bad--"

Lucky: "Elizabeth. You're not in the park. You're not back at the studio. You're here, and he's not."

Lizzie: "I know. It just still makes me feel sick. It took months for me to wash him off. And now that he's touched me, I just feel dirty again."

Lucky: "You're not. Look at me. You're beautiful. Even Tom can't change that. And he'll never have another chance to try."

Lizzie: "Thanks to you. I was so terrified tonight, just like the night I was raped. Only this time, you were there to save me." {A tear rolls down Lucky's face as he hugs her}

ELIZABETH'S BIRTHDAY

Lucky: "Look, we can do this all night, but aren't you tired? It's past 1:00."

Lizzie: "That means it's tomorrow."

Lucky: {Lizzie laughs when he looks at her funny} "Yeah. What happens tomorrow?"

Lizzie: "Just my birthday."

Lucky: "What?"

Lizzie: "Today is my birthday."

Lucky: "Well, thanks for telling me. Forget the floor. I'm going to take the doghouse. I don't have a present."

Lizzie: "Oh, please. Like, who remembered? Certainly not me until right now."

Lucky: "So, how does it feel?"

Lizzie: "Something awful close to wonderful, like I have my whole life to look forward to. So I guess you gave me something after all."

Lucky: "Whew, that's good. I got to tell you--it's not easy finding something for the girl who has everything. {He steps closer} Happy birthday."

Lizzie: "Thanks." {They kiss}

{In Lucky's room, Lizzie is in bed and she wakes up to find the room empty}
Lizzie: "Lucky?"

Lucky: "Happy birthday." {They smile at each other}
Lucky: {Handing her the brownie with the candle lit} "You ready? Make a wish."
Lizzie: "Ok. Give me your hand." {She takes his hand and blows out the candle}

Lucky: "You aced it. One wish coming true."
Lizzie: "Feels like it's already on the way. Here, take half." {She splits up the brownie and hands him a piece}
Lucky: "You want the fork?"
Lizzie: "Nope."
Lucky: "Thank you."

Lucky: "Ok. Look, I wasn't sure that the brownie would be enough, so I got you this, too." {He hands her a box}

Lizzie: {Pulling out a bracelet} "Oh, Lucky."
Lucky: "The charm symbolizes your future as a painter."
Lizzie: "I love it. Thank you. It's very thoughtful."
Lucky: "Are you sure? Because I would've bought you something more expensive. It's just--"
Lizzie: "Lucky, you don't have to get me expensive gifts. Just being with you is the best present I've ever had." {He puts it on her wrist. All of their touching moments are shown to Lucky's song Elizabeth, and then they kiss}

ALONE AT LAST!
{Lucky & Lizzie return home after Nikolas Birthday Party}

Lizzie: "The thing I like best is probably just sitting here in the house with you."

Lucky: "Yeah, me, too. Especially--I mean, no offense--but when it's just you and me, you know? {They lean back on the couch} Not that I'd do anything real different, it's just--"

Lizzie: "No, no, no. I know what you mean. Sometimes when it's just us, it--it seems like it's our house--yours and mine."

Lucky: "Yeah. {She lays her head on his shoulder} Ok, I'm a little offended. I mean, not that I expected you to wear it to bed or anything, but you had it on when you went to Wyndemere."

Lizzie: {Jumping up, looking everywhere} "My bracelet!"

Lucky: "What'd you think I meant?"

Lizzie: "Oh, my God. I couldn't have lost it."
Lucky: "What, you didn't take it off?"

Lizzie: "My bracelet? They would have to cut my hand off."

Lucky: "Elizabeth, it's not here. I noticed when you unlocked the door."

Lizzie: "I didn't have it on? Well, I know that I had it on the launch when we were coming back from Spoon Island because I noticed the way the moon made it sparkle. Oh, my God--what if the clasp broke and it fell in the water?"

Lucky: "It's all right. We'll just get you another."

Lizzie: "No, you don't understand. It was a birthday present from you. There isn't another one."

Lucky: "Ok, look, it's--it's probably somewhere between here and the docks. If I took a walk back that way, I'm sure I'd find it."

Lizzie: "Ok, let's go, let's go."

Lucky: "No, no, no. It's ok. Just relax. I can get it if you're ok at being here alone."

Lizzie: "No, I'm ok. I'm not scared anymore. He's in jail. I just want my bracelet back."

Lucky: {Laughing} "Ok."

Lizzie: "Please, ok? Hurry before someone finds it. {She rushes him out the door and then gets the flashlight. She opens the door to find Lucky on the other side. He leans in and kisses her} Flashlight."

Lucky: "Oh. Yeah. Thanks." {He takes the flashlight}

Lizzie: "Ok." {She closes the door and both smile on either side of the door}
