Rick Rude came into the professional wrestling circuit in Texas as the American Heavyweight champion.  Since then he has been one of the best heels known in wrestling today.  He's been in all three of the most popular wrestling companies (WWF, WCW, and ECW).


I suggest if you're reading this, try to think of your favorite Rick Rude memory.  Maybe you remember him as "Ravishing" Rick Rude.  The controversial wrestler in the 80's with the sexuality that wasn't used in wrestling at that time.  Where do you think Val Venis got his dance from, and where did the inspiration for Scott Steiner's well placed face on his outfit came from?  All from Rick Rude.  Maybe you just remember him as the guy who came out with Curt Hennig.  That's okay, you're probably a newer fan.

Rick I know you're up there somewhere with all the greats that passed before their time.  I hope that you're up there looking down on the wrestlers of today, tomorrow, and the future.  I hope that you know how many people did really love you, and the ones that booed the most, were most upset by your death.  You did such a good job at being a bad guy, that the fans didn't know you much otherwise.  We will all miss you greatly because you were one of the greats in wrestling and will always be remembered.
