Matt LeBlanc was born on July 25, 1967 in Newton, Mass.. After receiving his first motorcycle at age 8, Matt LeBlanc started participating in various amateur competitions with hopes of racing professionally. He soon ran into a roadblock: his mother, who forced him to find a different outlet for his talents.

He trained for a career in carpentry, and after graduation from high school (Newton North High School) , he went to New York City and by 1987 had obtained parts in national television commercials for products such as Levi's 501 jeans, Coca-Cola and Doritos. In 1988 Matt started formal acting training, and within a year he landed a starring role on the TV series TV 101, and relocated to Los Angeles, where he appeared in several TV shows before his film debut in Lookin' Italian with Alanis Morissette. During the past 10 years he has developed a passion for landscape photography, which has taken him to locations all over the world. Matt lives in Los Angeles with his dog, Lady, one of the first friends he made when he moved there.
