Changes In The Blink Of An Eye

1st soldiers of 9/11
While I was getting dressed on Tuesday, Sept 11, 2001...
Someone was losing someone they loved.
As I was getting on the bus...
Someone was going to meet their Lord!
As I sat in second period, worrying about getting my Geometry done...
Someone worried about seeing his wife alive again.
As I sat in third period, watching the news...
Someone was living it.

As I was joking with my friends... Someone had lost their best friend.
As I talked to my sisters... Someone had lost their sister.
As I hug my parents... Someone won't ever hug theirs again.

As my dad watches me play basketball...
Someone won't get to watch their kids play anything.
As my mom hears the "I love you"...
Someone doesn't have anyone to say, "I love you" to any more.
As I fight with my sisters...
Someone wishes they could say, "I'm sorry" to theirs.

As my life gets back to normal...
Someone's life will never be the same again.
As I get older and fall in love...
Someone will never meet his or her own true love.
As my dad walks me down the aisle at my wedding... Someone's dad will wonder what kind of man his daughter would have met.

As I kiss my husband... Someone won't be able to kiss hers.
As my mom holds her new grandchild...
Someone will wonder what theirs would have been like.
As I watch my child grow...
Someone will never be able to see theirs again.

In Washington D.C. & New York City, on Sept 11, 2001, Someone lost a life. All over the country, people have lost a mother, father, son, daughter, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, or friend. We all need to remember what happened on Sept 11, & keep the bond we have formed together. And remember:

GOD BLESS AMERICA!
