QUIETSONG
Played By: Shadow
Character Name: Quietsong
Cub Name: Moth
Previous Names: Stillears
Race: Wolfrider
Gender: Male
Age: 438
Height: 4'1"
Build: Medium.. He has muscles of a reasonable definition and is by no means
a weakling, but Quietsong is also not a hulking brute in any way.
Hair Color: A nondescript brown. He keeps it clipped short, usually above
shoulder length.. His hair is soft and has a gentle shine to it.
Eyes: A pale shimmering blue. His eyes are very expressive and reflect what
he is feeling as if they were pools of clear water.
Skin Color: pale creamy tan. He gains a darker tan if he is out from the
shade of the forest for any length of time.
Facial Features: His face is gently rounded, though not pudgy. He has high,
rounded cheek bones that lend him a certain attractive quality. Quietsong
has a gentle smile and an overall good cheer. His brows are of medium fullness
and are softly set on his face. He is rather good looking, though not the
most strikingly featured elf you'd ever see.
Voice: He doesn't speak as he is stone deaf and has never heard the sound
of a spoken voice. However, he is able to howl. He learned how to feel the
vibrations through his wolf friend's throat and imitate the sounds. His howling
is, by all means, not perfect, and he does occasionally hit the wrong pitch
or use the wrong harmonics, but his lupine companions have learned to anticipate
this and will often alter their howls to mimic his. He can read lips, by
the way.
Mental Voice: Gentle and warm. Gains an edge to it when he's angry.
Scars, Birthmarks, Etc.: Random scars from a life of hunting and living in
the wilderness.

Usual Clothing: blue vest, short sleeved tan tunic, long brown breeches tucked
into mid-calf length boots
Heavy Clothing: brown jerkin lined in brown bear fur, brown fur lined, thick
leather breeches, sometimes a brown leather cloak lined with bear fur, depending
on how cold it is.
Light Clothing: blue vest, cut-off brown breeches, brown ankle-boots or bare
feet (All of his clothing is quite tattered and threadbare, no matter the
season, with exception to his cloak, which is hardly used.)
Jewelry/Adornments: A highly polished, blue river stone with a small hole
through the center, given to him by Lark. He wears it on a simple brown leather
thong as a necklace.
Weapons/Tools: Spear, bow, tanning tools and implements - including several
bone needles, scrapers, and an awl.
Magic: Sending, Wolf-bonding, ???
Fears: being ambushed by a predator or an enemy, becoming a burden, intimacy
(makes you vulnerable).
Likes: the comfort of his three wolf companions, the warmth of a small fire,
fresh meat.
Dislikes: being at a disadvantage because of his lack of hearing, folk who
deliberately speak to leave him out of a conversation.
Personality: Quietsong is a laid-back elf, with an easy smile and a gentle
sense of humor. He can seem distant at times, due to his deafness and his
habit of getting caught up in his thoughts. He is quite patient and often
will remain calm when all others have given up or given in to anger. He has
buried the grief over his son's early death, but it still lurks at the edges
of his thoughts, often taking the form of nightmares.
Sees Self As: Someone who is trying to forge a new way through life, despite
the hardships and the loss of the past.
History: Quietsong was born of the Recognition of Riverfox and Latefrost.
His happy birth soon transcended into a tragic beginning because neither
of his parents was expecting their "perfect" cubling to be born completely
deaf. After the initial shock, blame games, and tear-filled days and nights
of frustrationwere over, Latefrost and Riverfox began to see that, despite
his differences and lack of hearing, the infant Moth was capable of functioning
as a "normal" child.
With the boundless patience of his parents' love, young Moth soon learned
to send and communicate his needs and desires. Due to his father's
determination, the youngling also learned to hunt and track. It was extremely
difficult for him as he couldn't hear his prey, but Moth soon learned to take
advantage of his other senses, as well as the senses of his wolf friend.
His life was fairly uneventful with mainly a name change (to Stillears) to
mark his passing into adulthood, until he Recognized Silversky, a beautiful
and loving huntress, full of life's fire. The only problem was she didn't
love him. Though Silversky gladly consummated the bond of Recognition, she
only wanted the cub. Devastated by memories of his parents' Recognition-induced
closeness and the totally opposite reaction of Silversky, Stillears turned
to his lifelong friend, Castwell, for comfort..
Quickly becoming lovemates, Castwell and Stillears anxiously awaited the
birth of Silversky and Stillears' cub. When the cubling was born two turns
later, the trio of parents named him Lark because he came into the world
singing. Lark's birth brought a closeness to Silversky and Stillears, that
previously had not been.. With Castwell's smiling approval, the three adults
and the infant began to den together.
When Lark was merely six turns old, Stillears took him into the forest to
teach him about tanning. The young cub gleefully helped gather barksand roots
and berries to help replenish his father's supplies. As Stillears hunched
over his work, sending detailed explanations of the proper steps to tanning
a hide to perfection, Lark wandered off to chase something small, dark, and
furry. His natural cubbish curiosity drew him from his father's side with
neither a send nor a gesture to tell Stillears he was leaving.
After a small span of time had gone by, Stillears turned to give Lark a try
at tanning, but to his surprise, the cub was nowhere to be found. In a panic,
Stillears began searching for Lark, calling out to him in send, over and
over. It was then that he found the crumpled and bleeding body of his cub,
laying on the forest floor.
Clenched tightly in Lark's small, pudgy hand, Stillears discovered several
leaves from a nearby tree.As he cradled the body of his cubling to him, Stillears
began to look on the scene with a tracker's eyes. Upon Lark's clothing was
the scent and baby-fine hair of a bear cub. There were light tracks to indicate
the cubs had played together, and pressed deeper into the earth were the
large, heavy tracks of the mother bear, searching for her wayward offspring.
Looking up to the tree where the tracks stopped, Stillears could see the
deep gouges in the tree's trunk where the female bear had clawed the bark
as she tore the elfin child from the tree. Stillears had no need to examine
the matching gouges on Lark's legs, for he already knew the silent story
they told. Clutching his child to him, his heart broken and bleeding inside,
he tilted his head back and called for tribe and kin.
When the tribe arrived, the accusations flew, first from Silversky, then
from Castwell. It was then that Stillears first felt something drawing him
away. He thought he heard…something, but his mind was too troubled to make
sense of it. In the end, he could no longer stand the looks of accusation
and the hushed whisperings from one mind to the next. So Stillears packed
his few meager belongings and left for parts unknown.
One night, his wolf friend came to him with two unbonded wolves of the pack,
and the three made it known to Stillears that he was now Quietsong, and that
they were his companions now. After he had traveled for a moondance, he actually
heard Riamis' call. Driven to find the source, he happened upon Griel's wanderers
and joined them.

Bond Animal: Wolf
Name: Deerdancer
Gender: Female
Appearance: She is golden brown touched with darker and lighter shades of
brown. Her muzzle is golden brown on the top side, light tan/almost white
on the sides and underneath.., light tan extending to her neck ruff where
it is touched with darker tan. Her forehead is "ravvit" colored and her ears
are golden. She has a "ravvit" colored strip running down the length of her
spine to her tail, and her barrel is golden brown fading into light tan on
her underbelly..
Personality: She is the Alpha in her small pack of three. Deerdancer keeps
the two males in their place, but she also cares for them deeply. The bond

Quietsong, though Deerdancer is his true bond. She is defender and protector,
mother and nuturer, friend and playmate.
Companion Animal: Wolf
Name: Grizzle
Gender: Male
Appearance: Old, grey, and grizzled. He used to be a darker grey, but over
the years, he has faded out. His fur is a variation of greys. Almost white
down the sides of his muzzle, extending to his neck ruff, medium grey extending
up the top side if his muzzle and his eyebrows, darker grey across his forehead,
his ears are medium grey. His underbelly is almost white and his back and
tail are a blended gradient of the different shades of grey. His eyes are
a dark hazel greenish-brownish-amberish color.
Personality: Grizzle is old and sometimes snappish. He tries to keep the
other two wolves in line, when it is truly Deerdancer, the female, that keeps
them all in check. Grizzle is kindhearted but a bit overprotective of those
he sees as "his".
Companion
Animal: Wolf
Name: Dreamchaser
Gender: Male

extending to the front of his neck ruff. The remainder of his body is blackish
grey with his paws looking somewhat frost-touched. Dreamchaser has bright
golden eyes.
Personality: He is quite laidback when compared to Deerdancer and Grizzle.
He is somewhat of a trickster, which often lands him in hot water with the
other wolves and/or elves. He was named for his habit of "chasing" things
in his sleep.
