ACLU
Version: Then They Came for Me
vs.
My Version: Then He
(GOD)
Came For The ACLU
|
Then They Came for Me - by Stephen F. Rohde, a constitutional
lawyer and President of the ACLU of Southern
California, is indebted to the inspiration of
Rev. Martin Niemoller (1937).
First they came for the Muslims, and I didn't
speak up because I wasn't a Muslim.
Then they came to detain immigrants indefinitely
solely upon the certification of the Attorney
General, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't
an immigrant.
Then they came to eavesdrop on suspects
consulting with their attorneys, and I didn't
speak up because I wasn't a suspect.
Then they came to prosecute non-citizens before
secret military commissions, and I didn't speak
up because I wasn't a non-citizen.
Then they came to enter homes and offices for
unannounced "sneak and peek" searches,
and I didn't speak up because I had nothing to
hide.
Then they came to reinstate Cointelpro and resume
the infiltration and surveillance of domestic
religious and political groups, and I didn't
speak up because I had stopped participating in
any groups.
Then they came for anyone who objected to
government policy because it aided the terrorists
and gave ammunition to America's enemies, and I
didn't speak up because...... I didn't speak up.
Then they came for me....... and by that time no
one was left to speak up.
MY
VERSION vs THE ACLU'S ABOVE DOCTRINE
First
they came for the 10 Commandments, and I did not
speak up because the ACLU said they were
unconstitional and violated "Separation of
Church and State."
Then they came for the teaching of Creationism in
our public schools and I did not speak up because
the ACLU said that
teaching Creationism violated "Separation of
Church and State" and was unconstitutional.
Then they came for the prayers in our public
schools and I did not speak up because the ACLU said that
prayers violated "Separation of Church and
State" and was unconstitutional.
Then they came for the traditional religious
holiday displays in the public square, and I did
not speak up because the ACLU said they
violated "Separation of Church and
State" and were unconstitutional.
Then they came for the Bibles in the Public
Schools, Libraries, Hospitals, and any Bible
carried or found in the Public Square, and I did
not speak up because the ACLU said Bible's in
public violated "Separation of Church and
State" and were unconstitutional.
Then they came for the Christians who held
religious public protests in the public square
and I did not speak up because the ACLU said this
violated "Separation of Church and
State" and was unconstitutional.
Then
they came for the Churchs' place of worship in
the public square and I did not speak up because
the ACLU said a public
building held for worship violated
"Separation of Church and State" and
was unconstitutional.
Then they came for my children because I taught
them Christianity and I did not speak up because
the ACLU said I violated
"Separation of Church and State" and
teaching them this was unconstitutional.
Then
they came for me for being a believer in God and
I did not speak up because the ACLU said believing
in God violated "Separation of Church and
State" and this was unconstitutional.
Then God came for the ACLU.... Informing them
that since HE IS THE HEAD OF "The
Church" and they (the ACLU) claimed to
speak for the State, and since there was a REAL
separation in HIS Kingdom, (a Separation of
Heaven and Hell), there was no one left to speak
up for them.
