One Tear
One tear falls from my eye
As I think of you.
One tear falls
As I think about the past,
When you were a hero to me.
A champion in my dreams.

Yet now, all is changed.
You lie in darkness
Wishing for death,
But death will not come.

Why do you make yourself suffer so?
Don't you know what they say,
When you leave them alone?

Sometimes I feel as if I'm the only one
Who truly cares.
A teenager in agony
From an old man's pains.

Grandfather, you don't hear them speak as I hear them.
As if you are a burden unwillingly trust unpon them,
No longer even human.

The tears come now,
Not just one but a flood.
And everything they've said just brings more.

I don't want to hear it anymore.
My tears have slowed,
I feel a bit more at ease.

But still
One more tear
For everything you used to be.
