Strength and Independance
(in the end)
She stands outside on a hot summer day,
smoking a cigarette and thinking about you.
She's remembering everything she can
about your life,
and yes, about how you died.

Your death hurt her so much,
as you knew it would.
But did you know it would make her stronger too?

Your death nearly led to hers
because she wanted to be with you so badly.
The anguish she felt
has been so good for her in the end.
The pain she indured for so long
has made her independant and strong.

The tears cried in the dark
The cuts she made herself
The lonliness shes felt
The anguish shes indured
And the nightmares she always has
Have all been worth it in the end.
They have helped her so much in her short life.
All of this has given her two gifts:
The gifts of strength and independance.
