Baton Rouge!

We all meet people on a daily basis. Through work, friends, at the store, at a restaurant or bar, we will run into an interesting human being or two every single day. Being a web addict, I have had the pleasure of meeting many a friend through my website, webcam, and AOL Instant Messenger. One friend stuck out from the crowd this year.

Back in January 2000, I found a funny website through Camarades, the webcam community extraordinaire! It started with a handsome guy sleeping in his bed with the camera in clear focus.

The link to this unique guy's cam included another link to J-blend Central. The webhome of Jeffrey, a student at LSU, getting his Masters Degree in Library Science. Not only did this sound interesting, he also taught in Japan for 3 years, AND had an affinity for foreign languages. The topper, he was GAY! I had to make the first step...

So, I sent my first email. The rest is history. :)

After a few months of ICQ, full of chitchat and laughter, we had our first phone conversation. The next step after the first few phone chats was to go meet this special guy in person. I made a reservation for early June, 2000. So glad I did. Here are some pictures from our fun time!

Here's Jeffrey himself.

Smiling in the heat of the day at The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA.

The Myrtle tree was in bloom, giving the plantation it's name.

( And to think...I thought it was named after good ole' Myrtle herself! ;)

Striking another pose, as I was very content that day. Does it show?

Looking touristy, and very stately all at once!

The Cabildo in the background is a lovely museum full of Louisiana history!

Awww...all good things come to an end.

We had a delicious Sunday brunch atop the Marriott in New Orleans our last full day together.

What a super view of the Grand Mississippi River, not to mention the super company!! :)

So, that is my trip to visit Jeffrey in a nutshell.

Close friendships made through the net are special things, indeed. It really makes our world a heck of a lot smaller!

I see us being pals for many years to come.

Check out J-BLEND CENTRAL for yourself. You'll be glad ya did. :)
