My Philip Glass Experience

I felt immediately intimidated, being so close to this genious. I had grabbed the only Philip Glass book I had before I left, so I placed my copy of "Opera on the Beach" in front of him, speechless.

"Are you from England?" he asked, beginning to sign my book.
"No," I replied, "I got that from Australia a week ago."
"Because this is the British version of..."
"Music by Philip Glass," we both said.
"You know, I'm doing a book on the Cocteau Trilogy," he said, and I remember him looking right into my eyes.
"Oh, wow, that'll be great!" I said, a most silly reply in retrospect. He had finished his signature and handed my book back to me.
"Thanks," I said, and I walked away.
