I have won many IMEA Contest honors, first solo and second ensemble(6th grade),first solo and second ensemble(7th grade), first solo and first ensemble(8th grade),first solo(freshman),first solo(Sophomore),and second ensemble(Vocal) and first solo(Junior). I've also recived Most Improved Jr. High Bandsman(6th), Outstanding Player(7th), Outstanding Musician(8th)(the highest Jr. High Band Honor), and The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award(Freshman). Not all of my awards have been from the Music Department.I recieved a Computer Award(Freshman) for my outstanding work in webpage production and the Geography/Cultural Studies Award(Sophomore).
I have served on both the Jr. High(3 years) and HS(freshman) Student Councils,I've been a member of WYSE(JETS)for two years,where I placed 2nd in both English and Biology my sophomore year,I am ranked third overall academically in my class,and I'm a member of the National Honors Society I am currently the Treasurer of my social class. I have also served as Vice President of my class. I've been involved in the Drama Department, once on the Lighting Crew(Freshman) for the comedy Airline,Last year as Friar Tuck(Sophomore) in our production of Comedy/Romance Robin Hood,and I'm returning to the stage this year(Junior) as The Grand Vizier,father of Scheherazade and her sister not to mention trusted advisor to the King,in our production of Scheherazade.
I owe my start in music to Mr. Paul Faatz,wherever you are I hope you're teaching someone else to love music like you taught me to love it. Mr. Brian Woods has really, REALLY helped me these three years and hope for more help from him for the rest of High School and beyond.He has been an important factor in not only my success as a player,but also as a person. He always been there for me.I should also thank my family. Both my mom and dad are very supportive of my music(my mom's president of the Band Boosters and my dad helped a lot during the field show) Not to mention they NEVER miss a concert! A big thanks goes out to all my friends MOST of them are really behind me and my music and they deal with me when I go into "Band Mode".Not to mention when I'm just a jerk.You know who you guys are...
