Composed of descendents of the
mythic era of rock, the group RAME never alowed itself to be
imprisoned by that gender. Jazz influences, avant-garde
concepts and electronic gadgetry are part of this musical
whirlpool, along with a constant search for new forms in this
universe of saturated sound, light and fury in which we grow
up in.
Initially a more conventional
"pop rock" band, in the sense that they had more
song-like compositions, their musical orientation changed as
rapidly as their line-up. Forever lovers of instrumental
themes, this would become their definite vehicle once the
power trio formed by Roberto Medeiros, Leonardo
Monteiro and Henrique Costa Lima was cemented.
The "Power Trio" line-up
would stand for five years. Occasionally, other musicians
from the Rio underground music scene would stop by and join
in. By 1996, two of these friends, Thiago and Júlio, dock
for good.
Ever since, RAME has become a musical showcase of
improvisations alongside with some complex themes tightly
arranged and formatted. Truly different from other bands
around today, RAME continues to defy the common, the ordinary
and the mundane without sacrificing gut, pulse and its
diabolic vibration.
