Born in 12/6/1956 he studied musical composition as a protégé of the late Egyptian musician Aziz EL-Shawan, and studied conducting under the supervision of the world renowned musical conductorYousef El-Sisi. Geroge Kyrillos obtained his baccaloureate im musical composition and orchestral conducting in 1992. He taught musical sciences at the Academy of Arts and the faculty of musical eduction. 

George Kyrillos specialized in religiuos music, so he founded the David Ensemble in 1975. He also conducted several groups such as “The Coptic Church Orchestra and Choir” and “Nazer El-Ilah Orchestra and Choir” through which he presented religiuos works in new orchestral forms.

In addition, he had put the theme music for three religiuos films for the great director Samir Seif.

He was also able to write the tradition of coptic hymns im musical notation in an accurate scientific way, and presenetd it through David Ensemble in a deep spiritual style in a lot of performances inside Egypt and abroad in France and Sweden, and made able to pentrate the souls of people of different races overcoming the barrier of utterance.

George Kyrillos has recently wrote a book titled “Coptic Hymns, its music and spirituality”, which is under puplishing and held several symposia to discuss the everlasting tradition of coptic hymns.

 

She was born im March 1988. She is the youngest member of David Ensemble. Monica George was chosen by the French director “Hughes De Courson” to sing as a solo in the golden CD “The Egyptian Mozart” and to perform the hymn “Golgotha” in Marceille Opera House and in the Basilic Cathedral of Saint-Denis in Paris accompanied by Sophia Philharmonic Orchestra and the District of Venice’s Choir.

In Addition, Monica made several performances at Cairo Opera House in the Jerusalem Celebration, with the conservation Orchestra conducted by Atteya Sharara and with Sharara’s Sextet.

Monica George won the eighth rank over the world in the Nile International Song Festival that so many local and international newspapers and magazies had commented on her magnificant performance. Furthermore, several worldwide broadcasting media recorded radio and TV interveiws with her.
