Over the past few years, I have felt a "higher calling." In striving to clarify (discern) what it is exactly, I have listened to the still small voice within. I have received more than one answer. One of the first that came to mind was the formation of a legal society bound by voluntary vows to go above and beyond (literally) the Rules of Ethics that we as attorneys pledge to follow. And this group should be open to lawyers of all faiths and without political agenda. In that respect, I hope to reach past other groups allied with the Christian Right and keep to simple, basic rules that apply to all. So why aren't the Rules of Ethics enough? |
