Journey to Mt. Athos                       back to main page

On June 29-30, 2000, after my recital in Thessaloniki, I traveled to Mt. Athos, the sacred home of 20 Orthodox monasteries for over 1000 years.  The following pictures trace my journey that began early in the morning on June 29 as I took a 6:15 bus from Thessaloniki to the port of Ouranoupolis.
