In my opinion, singing is a fine art in which the body works highly efficiently with the soul. Therefore it requires a balanced use of the body in which the energy flows smoothly and the voice sounds free. Breathing is like the waves of the ocean, they never rush. My own experiences with the Alexander-technique are an integrated part of my voice lessons. I try to redirect wrongly directed energy, this way releasing the unnecessary tension in our body and freeing ourselves and our voices. Essential note reading skills would be nice but the learning of this can also be integrated into the classes.
