Casey Mitchum is the head life guard at Sunset Beach. He is also one of the kindest people in town (Not that there are many of those around). Since the beggining he has helped the Cummings family. It started with rescuing Meg when she fell off of the pier. He was the first person she met, and they have been friends ever since. Casey was in a relationship with Dr. Rae Chang. At first they were friends who pretended to be married to fool her parents so she wouldn't have to marry Wie Lee. In the process they themselves feel for each other. They bought Surf Central as a joint venture and worked on it together. However, she decided to go along with the pre-arranged marriage and left Casey. He was heartbroken and spent his time saving lives in Sunset Beach. Including that of his mother, Alex Mitchum. She is an award winning photo jouranlist who came to Sunset Beach with a secret. One that she wanted kept from her son. Alex had cancer. Casey found out and did every thing he could for his mother. She heard of a treatment center in Oslo and went there. She is now in remission. With her departure Casey went about his business and went, with Meg and others to the island Ben bought Meg. There they were chased by a serial killer, but he managed to get away alive. His friend Mark was not so lucky. Later he helped Ben and Meg with Derek, Ben's evil twin brother. He met Meg's sister, Sara Cummings and helped her with a scandal she was dodging. The two became extremely close and he fell in love with her, and she him. Not much is known about the rest of Casey's family. All we do know about his father is that Casey has not spoken to him in quite some time. Casey dumped Sara when he found about about her lies. He discovered he had feelings for Meg during the time he and Sara were not together. However, he soon realized that he loved Sara more than anything.
Sara Cummings was born in Ludlow, Kansas. Her parents are Hank and Joan and she has a sister Meg. Growing up, Sara always felt she was in Meg's shadow. She felt that their parents gave more attention to Meg and all of her accomplishments. Sara was even pre-med in college and nothing changed. That is what led Sara to seek an internship in Washington DC with Congressman Bob Blythe. This internship would change her life. Sara and the congressman started an affair that their enitre country would soon know about. News of the affai was leaked to the press by Sara's friend and confidante, Melinda Fall. Melinda was in love with the congressman and hated Sara for being able to have the relationship with him that Melinda had wanted. Sara, who's parents had moved to Sunset Beach after Meg, packed up and headed to Sunset Beach. There, she convinced her parents that the affair had never happened. She met Casey Mitchum and he helped her with the press and Melinda. Finnaly Sara had to tell her parents that she had slept with the congressman. Sara has always been insecure and she easily believes what some people tell her. This causes harm to her relationship with Casey. Her lies came back to her and Casey dumped her. While trying to move on she bought a store with Meg and met a man with Jude. She and Jude shared a date, but decided to remain friends.
Sara and Casey met when she came to town escaping scnadal in Washington. She was confused and he was only too happy to help. There was a respect for one another and a friendship. As her friend Casey kept reporters away from Sara and tried to get her to admit thetruth to her parents. At first it didn't work, but Melinda taped a conversation between her and Sara and the press played it for her parents. She finally had to admit everything. Casey invited her to a charity cruise to help her get her mind off of things and she accepted. All was going well, until Melinda and her camera man were discovered on the cruise. Sara and Melinda finally had it out with Casey in Sara's corner. However, Sara, being naive, believed Melinda when she apologized and asked for another chance. Melinda drugged Sara and Casey and posed them in a suggestive position, while her camera man took pictures. While still in their drugged sleep, the ship turned upside down because of a tidle wave. The two of them had to find their way out. They did, but not beofe Melinda came to them and begged gor help. Being the nice people they are Sara and Casey agreed to help. However, Melinda was eaten by a shark. Sara and Casey then found themselves stuck on a desrted island. On this island they shared their first kiss. They were rescued by Ben and Meg and Casey told Sara the kiss was a mistake. Just as things seemed to get back to normal, Melinda came back, missing a leg. She had Sara and Casey charged with attempted murder. Sara and Casey outwitted Melinda and planted a icrophone in an ice cream sundae. The got Melinda to admit on tape what she had done to them. A while later Sara and Casey kissed again, this time they decided they really needed to talk about what was going on. They talked and decided their was a mutual attraction and they began to date. However, Sara's insecurities caused her to be suspicious of Maria, Ben's wife, and she was the cause of Maria's fall down the stairs. She and Casey made up after that, but she plotted with Tim to keep Meg away from Casey. It backfired, but Sara was still with Casey. The two have finally admitted they love each other, and made love for the first time. Sara's lies did catch up to her and she and Casey broke up for a time. They found their way back to one another and he proposed after a fiasco with Derek. They will live happily ever after =) Get your own Free Home Page
