What I Like

I keep surfing web, as usually a computer professional do. I keep getting mails from friends. I keep watching movies and reading books. Because of it I come across every type of stuff. It is Technichal, humourous, spiritual, inspirational etc. Some things leave an impact on you. You like them because of their strangeness or their goodness. "Other persons too may like these things" and "Accumulation of that stuff for future reference" These 2 ideas forced me to make this section. Here i will keep adding that stuff regularly which CLICKED me somewhere.

This stuff may be a quote, a nice link, a good article, a poem, a website, OR perhaps a joke too. You may find some strange things here. Even i am not sure what i am going to add in this.

PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THE UNACTIVATED LINKS IN YOUR INTERNET BROWSER.

  • 24th Jan, 2006 -- Air Deccan advertisement

http://www.magindia.com/latesttvcs/2005/13july/01.mpg is having advertisement of Air Deccan (India).

This ad has touched the hearts. It is about a father who receives an Air-ticket from his son. Then he remembers the past in which his son grows up with dreaming about the planes. As a villager his father never thought that he will ever travel by plane. But it turns into reality when his son sends him ticket of Air Deccan.

By true means, every Indian is having a dream of air traveling. But because of high-fares it was not possible for middle class. But now the scene is changed. Thanks to Air Deccan for starting the low-cost airlines!! Now the middle class Indians, like me, can fulfill the dream of air traveling and make their father proud by sending them Air-Tickets.

  • 4th July, 2005 -- Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times

"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our vegetables at dinner and not leave them.

Mothers said, 'Think of the starving children in India and finish the dinner.'

And now I tell my children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India who would make you starve, if you don't.'"

Iswar Allah tere jahan me nafrat kyo hai, jung hai kyo,
Tera dil to itna bada hai, insaan ka dil tang hai kyo.

Kadam kadam par sarhad kyo hai, Sari zameen jo teri hai
Suraj ke phere karti hai, Phir kyo itni andheri hai
Is duniya ke daaman par, Insaan ke lahun ka rang hai kyo

    Iswar Allah tere............

Gunj rahi hai kitni cheekhe, Pyar ki baaten kaun sune
Toot rahe hai kitne sapne, Inke tukde kaun chune
Dil ke darwajo par taale, Taalo par yeh jung hai kyo

Iswar Allah tere jahan me nafrat kyo hai, jung hai kyo,
Tera dil to itna bada hai, insaan ka dil tang hai kyo.

  • 2nd October, 2004 -- Thoughts came across since last fortnight

    1. Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are
Something to do, Something to love, and Something to hope for.

    2. HAPPINESS SHOULD BE FOUND ALONG THE WAY BUT NOT AT THE END OF THE WAY.

    3. It is very difficult to go back and make a brand new start.
But you can always start from now and make a brand new ending.

"Bichhad gayaa har saathi dekar, Pal do pal kaa saath
Kisko fursat hai jo thaame deewano kaa haath
Humko apna saayaa tak Aqasar bezaar milaa..

Hamne to Jab Kaliya Maangi,Katon Ka Har Mila..

Isko hi jeena kehte hain to,yunhi jee lenge,
uff na karenge lab sii lenge,Aansu pii lenge
Gam se ab ghabrana kaisaa, Gam sau baar milaa

Hamne to Jab Kaliya Maangi,Katon Ka Har Mila..

Jaane Vo Kaise Log the Jinke,
    Pyar Ko Pyar Mila
Hamne to Jab Kaliya Maangi,Katon Ka Har Mila.."

Comparison, a great teacher once told me, is the cardinal sin of modern life. It traps us in a game that we can't win. Once we define ourselves in terms of others, we lose the freedom to shape our own lives. The great irony of the Built to Flip culture is that its proponents see themselves as freethinking people in search of the Holy Grail. And yet, when they do one successful flip, they invariably discover that it isn't enough. So they go off in pursuit of bigger numbers-not one set of options but a whole portfolio of options-in an escalating, never-ending game. If the Holy Grail isn't $10 million, then maybe it's $50 million. And if it's not $50 million, then surely it's $100 million. Meanwhile, those who don't play Built to Flip view their "no better than me, but luckier" colleagues with seething envy-a form of self-imprisonment that's even uglier than greed. The Holy Grail will forever elude those who imprison themselves, no matter how gilded the prison. As Joseph Campbell pointed out, the Holy Grail can be found only by those who lead their own lives.

    - Jim Collins in the book " Built tto Last" from rediff blog
