Vigyan Shiksha
Kendra has gradually developed itself
as an innovative educational, agriculture-, health - and technological resource centre capable of
handling documentation, research & development , demonstration &
training , treatment and consultancy in area of traditional knowledge,
practices, and people’s technologies. Through its wide and long experience of working
with people on the aspects of environment-friendly planning, management and
studies, VSK has developed its own
concept and model of rural development
where women, children and the vulnerable communities have definite
positive role to play in gaining their self-reliant and confident place in society.
The four campuses of
VSK each equipped with relevant facilities to meet different needs of people
on different aspects of work are as follows:
BANDA:
Banda
works as central office and coordinating
center for all the activities spread within this and other districts of
Bundelkhand region. This office is
equipped with all necessary facilities like printing, duplicating,
photocopying, computers along with faxing and internet- connectivity and is capable of serving as a regional
communication and documentation center.
Banda
has a rented office located on the
national highway no. 76 in the Civil
Line-area very near to Rly. Station and the Govt. roadways stop.
ATARRA:
Atarra is our registered
office ( though all office-activities
have been transferred to Banda campus) but more than that it is known for its
technological resource-centre located at a very prominent place alongside the National Highway no 76
east of Atarra at 3.5 km distance from the main town, and an innovative school
of primary - upper primary level created for poor village communities
surrounding this centre.
TERAHI-MUAFI:
TM houses VSK’s organic farm, herbal garden, food-processing and
preservation centre equipped with a
laboratory, pharmacy, one
composite bio-gas plant and vermi-composting unit and promotes comprehensive organic farming of food as well as the herbs.
Demonstration along with
production and in-process training of
farmers and women’ groups are regularly organized in this campus. This is popularly known as Kisan Vigyan
Kendra ( Farmers’ Science Centre)
TINDWARI:
Tindwari campus houses Jeevaniya Ayurvedic Chikitsalaya (
a hospital based on traditional health practices ( Ayurveda : the ancient
science of life). This center promotes health consciousness amongst masses by
way of popularizing health education amongst rural people, training village
health workers to learn basic exercise of making a diagnosis of common
ailments, simple science of healing in
order to assist village community for healthy living. This center extends curative service to the serious and
chronic patients visiting the hospital from associated villages. Proper
consultancy is provided in case of very serious illnesses which need higher
intervention immediately.
