Paul William Walker was born on September 12th, 1973 in Glendale, California. He has 3 siblings, Caleb, Cody, and Ashlie. His father is a businessman who owns a contracting company, and his mother spent some time as a model. Paul's grandfather, William Walker, was a famous boxer, known as "Irish" Billy Walker. Paul began modeling and acting at a very early age. His mother was a model and people used to ask her to bring her "cute son" along to the photo shoots. Soon, he was appearing in commericals for products like "Pampers." Paul spent several years making guest appearances on TV shows like Charles in Charge, Highway to Heaven, and Touched by an Angel. His first movie role came in the 1986 horror spoof "Monster in the Closet." Paul returned to TV for a bit with a role on the series Throb. Paul spent his high school years attending Village Christian High School, where he played basketball, baseball, and soccer. Soon after graduating, Paul joined the cast of "The Young and the Restless." He remained on the show for 2 years. After his stint on Y&R, Paul began attending "every community college in Southern California", as he has been quoted, studying Marine Biology. Paul is an avid surfer, and when he isn't working he enjoys watching the Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. When it seemed the college thing just wasn't for him, friends, family, and an old acting coach began encouraging Paul to return to acting, and in 1998 he won the starring role in Disney's surf comedy Meet the Deedles. Although the movie never really took off, it helped Paul leap onto the fast track to stardom. He began appearing in critically acclaimed movies, playing a 60's jock in Pleasantville, and Claire Daines' boyfriend in Brokedown Palace. Soon, he was winning roles in high profile teen movies like Varsity Blues, She's All That, and the Skulls. Paul's dead on performances of football jock Lance Harbor in Varsity Blues, the cocky Dean Sampson in She's All That, and the prep-school frat-boy in the Skulls won him notice from fans and producers alike. |
