Sir Thomas de Parke was born in Normandy, France. He went to England with William the Conqueror in 1066 and probably died there. About three hundred years later three of his descendants came to America. They were Thomas de Parke, Sir Robert de Parke and Daniel Parke. These three men were said to be related somehow.

Thomas de Parke, Sr. was born between 1670-1675 probably in Ireland. He was living in Virginia before 1700. He died in 1761 in Albermarle Co., Va. He might have been the son of John Parks and Mary Graves. His wife is unknown. His children were: Thomas, Jr. b. about 1702, John b. May 18, 1706, Samuel b. about 1708, Charles b. between 1712-14, Mary, Elizabeth b. between 1720-25.

Thomas Parks, Jr., b. about 1702, probably in Essex Co., Va. His death came between Oct.-Dec.1790. His will was probated in Wilkes Co., N.C. in 1791. His wife was Priscilla Blanton, b. about 1710 in Va. and died after 1791 probably in Wilkes Co., N.C. Their children were: Aaron b. between 1760-63, Ambrose b. about 1750, John, Thomas III, Reuben, William, George, Benjamin b. about 1768-69, Abial, Uriah, Charity, Margaret "Peggy", Priscilla, Mary.

Aaron Parks, son of Thomas Parks and Priscilla Blanton, b. 1750, in Amherst Co., Va. was married Nov. 2, 1784 to Oney Stubblefield, b, about 1760 in Wilkes Co., Va. Her parents may have been Joel Stubblefield and Ann. She died in 1847. Aaron Parks died in 1820. They were the parents of the following: William, Robert, Thomas, Fannie, Elizabeth, John Nash, Aaron, Jr., Ambrose, Fielding, Parthenia, Woodruff, Joel Dotson.

William Parks, b. Aug. 16, 1785 in N.C., son of Aaron Parks and Oney Stubblefield, was married to Mary C. Thurston, daughter of Benjamin Thurston and Elizabeth ?. William died Dec. 23, 1863 and Mary died Nov. 19, 1840. They were the parents of the following: Benjamin T., Catherine T., Elizabeth, Parthenia, Martha D., Mary C., Joel, Aaron, William, Oney.
