SUMMARY OF GOD'S PLAN OF
SALVATION
by
David Ray Fanning I
Just as Adam and Eve were free from
sin when God created them; so also, you were free from sin when you
were born (Genesis 2:16-17;Romans 7:9) Just as Adam and Eve were
separated from God when they committed their first sin (partaking of
the forbidden fruit); so also, you were separated from God when you
committed your first sin (Genesis 3:1-6; Isaiah 59: 1-2; Romans
3:23). Their eternal destiny, as well as yours, was hell (II
Thessalonians 1:8-9). But God be thanked that He loved the world
so much and did not want anyone to perish that He sent His only Son to
the earth to die for you, so that through Jesus you may have
JESUS, THE ONLY WAY back to the Father (John 3:16; 14:6;
II Peter 3:9). However, Christ only becomes the author of your
salvation when you obey Him (Hebrews 5:8-9).
Acts 16:30: "What must I do to be
saved?"
Instead of waiting for some nudging
from God's Spirit or a better-felt-than-told experience, you must
obtain the faith that pleases God from His Word (Hebrews 11:6).
GOD'S
STANDARD OF AUTHORITY is Jesus' Word, THE NEW TESTAMENT,
which
will judge you in the last Day (Colossians 3:17; John 12:48).
HEARING GOD'S WORD will lead you who are seeking the truth to BELIEVE
THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD (Matthew 7:78; Acts 16:31; Romans 1:16;
10:17). Realizing your sinful condition and appreciating what
Jesus has done to make His salvation available to you, you are pricked
to the heart with godly sorrow (Acts 2:37). Your godly sorrow
leads you to REPENT OF YOUR SINS ( II Corinthians 7:9-10). Such a
change of heart moves you to CONFESS to others THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF
GOD (Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10). You must then BE BURIED
immediately in water THROUGH BAPTISM so that your sins will be washed
away through the blood of Jesus (Acts 22:16; Romans 6:4; Revelation
1:5). Once you put on Christ through your baptism, you must
REMAIN FAITHFUL to Him UNTO DEATH so that you can obtain the trophy of
everlasting life with Him (Galations 3:27; Revelation 2:10). By
being a faithful Christian, you can now "do all things through Christ:
who strengthens you, as you walk daily in the light as He is in the
light and as you confess your sins on a continual basis (Philippians
4:13; I John 1:7,9).
