This was a 30 second exposure. I just moved to a different place during the exposure.

Parked for the night, leave the engine idling, heater on.
Do not set the trailer brakes or they'll be frozen in the morning!

After I've been driving all day, I like getting off the beaten path to walk around a small town.

This is the Desert Center Cemetery, which I believe has been moved to Indio.
This plaque can be seen from Interstate 10 as you drive by.

This 4th of July I parked the truck
and hiked up a hill to have a look around.
To the southeast, the town was gathering for the local fireworks display.

As night fell, the neighborhood people began setting off their fireworks.

Then the professional display began.


As I walked back to the truck through the cemetery, I took these pictures looking over the hill.
