Tracks like the "big" dogs!!!!
There are currently only EIGHT living yorkies with TRACKING DOG TITLES and ONE is the first yorkie in the history of the breed to earn a TRACKING DOG EXCELLENT TITLE.
Joyce Anderson started tracking her "FERGIE", CH Caraleigh's Fair Warning, VCD2, when she was six months of age in 1993, but due to other training, a short Florida tracking season and other commitments, "Fergie" piled up an impressive number of titles but was never able to earn that elusive TD (TRACKING DOG).
U-CD, Illusion's Sarah Ferguson TDX, CD, CGC, also known as "FERGIE", started tracking with her owner, Arlene King, in the prairies of Illinois in 1997 when she was just under four months old and weighed only 2 pounds. She was so small that the only harness that would fit her was a hot pink, figure-8 cat harness!!! From the get-go she was a natural!! At under two years of age, on October 18, 1998, she PASSED at her first TRACKING DOG test and earned her TD title.
Through the internet, partly because they both owned yorkies that tracked named "Fergie", Joyce and Arlene became friends and were there on the computer to support each other and their "Fergies" with their tracking training. In June of 1999 Joyce, in desperation, sent her "Fergie" up to Arlene in Illinois for some intense training and polishing at Arlenes VERY exclusive summer camp (only for yorkies that track named Fergie!!!). To make a long story shorter, after only a month in Illinois "Fergie" was certified and on October 3, 1999, at the Northwest Obedience Clubs TD test, in the pouring rain, she became (according to our records) the FIRST yorkie Champion of Record to earn a Tracking Title.
The Two Fergies are two of only six living yorkies with Tracking Titles making Arlene the only person to ever handle more than one yorkie (as well as more than one "FERGIE") to a tracking title.
Tracking pictures are notoriously bad but we couldn't miss the opportunity show everyone our Two Tracking Fergies earning their TRACKING DOG Titles
