Survive the Village: Part II
From: FFDragon | Posted: 10/8/2004 7:39:12 AM | Message Detail
Right Tower- Natus, MF, Nate, and Tur stood inside the cramped elevator, fearing for their lives. Those muscular beasts meant business, and they were smart... A deadly combo. All four men are uncertain of the next course of action, but they all know that they'd never be leaving the tower unless they got through the duo outside. Soft clicking was heard through the metal doors... They were talking to each other... Inside the elevator though, emotions were running high, and the explosive Tur slammed the still cursing Natus up against the back of the elevator, holding him there with a forceful left forearm...

"Shut The **** UP!!!! Good going, jackass!! We could've got the drop on those things, but your loud mouth alerted them right to us!! Stupid bastard!! And I KNOW you’re pullin’ something here! You’re hiding something from us, ya dumb son of a *****!!!! Tell Me!!" Tur was through playing games with everyone... Natus had simply pussed him over the edge.

"Listen, I'll explain everything, but not here..." Natus' expression didn't even begin to change. He took Tur's anger in stride, almost as if he expected it. Tur released his hold of Natus, and took what small step he could to separate himself from him.

"Those things are just like what Charlie became..." MF says out loud, to no one in particular, holding his arm across his chest to calm his heart.

"Those would be MA-121's... or some variation of them... Judging from their skin tone though, they aren't poisonous, but--" Natus' explanation was cut short

"Poisonous?!" MF isn't taking too kindly to the words escaping Natus' lips. They had all had enough poison for one night... Tur especially...

"Yeah, toxin injected through the claws." Natus replied. "Well, in any case, MA-121's take some killing... I recommend we use my .22, but there's a problem..."

"Of course there's a problem..." Tur sneered, "But care to inform us of what that may be?"

"The MA-121's are fast, very fast... My aim is pretty good but..." Natus went on, "...but the .22 Deringer is not automatic... or even Semi... It takes about 5 seconds to fire rounds consecutivly..."

Tur was done with Natus. "**** it. Just **** it. I don’t care anymore. I just want to go check on our friends. That I trust. Unlike you, Natus. When you’re ready to tell us how you know all these minute details about the things we’ve run into here, and what the **** is going on with you, I’ll listen. Till then I want nothing to do with ya."

Natus' mouth was left open on it's hinges, but he closed it without another world. A sly, expressionless face appeared on Natus as he leaned up against the back of the elevator, holding his derringer and motioning with his left hand towards the elevator doors. Tur looked down at his Edge and flipped it from single shot to burst mode. He got down on one knee and perched himself in front of the door ready to fight. Tur quickly glanced up at MF.

"Open the door. I’m getting through. Those greens bastards ain’t stoppin’ me." Tur was resolved, but the others weren't so hasty.

MF shakes his head. "Not so quickly Tur... There are two of those... things, and four of us. When I pull out the key, I think we should run out in pairs to opposite ends of the room, hopefully separating them. Nate, you come with me, and Natus, you and Tur take out the other one. With your magnum, you should be able to drop that thing in one shot, or at least one shot and a quick dose of Mr. Stabby to the throat."

"Screw that. For all I know Natus will shoot me in the back..." Tur gets back to his feet and glares at Natus.

"Hey now, that was uncalled for..." Natus actually grinned... Tur shook his head in disgust.

Nate now got to one knee, and seeing the breakdown of his team, he decided to throw out his more thought out plan of action. "We sjould stay here, in the elevator. That way, they have to converge on one small point, and we should be able to cut them down before they even make it into the elevator... We wait here for a minute or two longer, so they wander away from the entrance. When we're ready, you, MF, will release the key and we open fire. Tur, Natus, you take the left two. Furious, you and I will take whichever of those creatures is on the right. They'll be toast before they ever reach us." Nate concluded his explanation, then raised his eyebrows as an inquiry as to what they thought of his plan.

"What don't you two understand? I'm NOT teaming with Natus. I'd rather fly solo..." Tur was rather adamant in his newfound views of Natus...

"Let him go by himself..." Natus softy chuckled, "God knows he loves to martyr himself."

"Yeah. And you'd be dead if it weren't for it."

"Oh I know... And I thank you kindly for that. But if you can't trust me now, those 121's will tear you apart..." Natus sighed, unmoving from his position in the back. Tur paused momentarily, faltering in his resolve. He looked into the eyes of Nate and MF, and although he could see that they didn't trust Natus either, they needed his firepower...

"Fine... But you stay in front of me... Lest you want to meet Mr. Stabby." Tur snapped

The tension filled the small elevator from corner to corner. Nate was still one one knee, crossbow pointed straight at the door. MF looked into the eyes of Tur, and Natus, and then finally nodded. The sounds of clicking weren't as close now, but they were split... Coming from both the right and left... They were going to attack them from both sides.

"Once we do this, we will be home free. Are we ready?" MF's hand was slightly shaking on the elevator key

Everyone nodded and Nate pressed a finger to his lips, to make everyone fall silent. Tur joined Nate on one knee, pointing his Edge towards the door. Natus stood behind Tur, his .22 aimed high. MF drew in a deep breath and held it. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears... Unholstering his handgun in his free hand, MF turns and yanks the key out of the elevator, quickly pocketing it and bringing his other hand back up to his gun... The doors slide open and... Nothing... Straight ahead of them, there was nothing. They weren't coming to them... Tur was beginning to get nervous, afraid that both of them might be able to overwhelm them in such close quarters. He wasn't going to have that. Without any kind of warning, Tur springs up from his single knee stance and bursts out of the elevator and turns left.

"Tur! Wa--" Natus gasps out before following him out to the left

"****!" Nate curses as he watches the two leave the safety of the elevator. MF looks down at Nate and puts on a sloppy grin.

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want..." MF breaks his gaze with Nate, "GO!!"

MF too bursts out of the elevator, turning the right corner. Nate sighs inwardly and gets back to his feet, his plan all but ruined. Not wanting to hide away alone, Nate finally exits the elevator and turns right. The orange-white eyes of the Hunters flash with glee as their prey comes to them. With a piercing screeth, the two beasts attack in unison, each taking on two of the researchers. On the left, Tur staggers the first Hunter with a burst of fire to the upper torso and shoulder of the beast. It staggers back only a foot, before chargin forward and lunging through the air, claws outstretched at Tur. As the 121 is flying through the air, Natus raises his Derringer and fires a single shot into the throat of the reptilian beast. The bullet tears through the neck of the Hunter, a shot that would have taken the head off of any normal man... The Hunter falls from the air, unable to make it's attack. It doesn't die instantly though, but all it is able to do is flail about on the ground as it bleeds out from the throat face down on the ground. Tur comes up behind the beast, and fires a single shot into the back of the head of the beast, stilling it permanently. While this was going on, Nate and MF were busy dealing with their own personal Hunter. As it charged the two men, Nate fired a bolt straight into the chest of the 121, but all it did was lodge in the pectoral muscle, barely stirring the charging attacker. MF fires three rounds as quickly as he could into the chest of the Hunter, right around the bolt, but that only temporarily stops the charge. Nate has had time to reload a bolt, and he fires for the head of the Hunter. But even in it's pain, the Hunter had the mental prowess to duck the bolt as it whizzed towards it's head. The Hunter continues to charge, sidesteping a shot from MF as well. The Hunter had seen it's companion get knocked down by flying through the air, so it stayed grounded. It makes right up to MF and now makes a small leap, aiming for the neck. MF is able to dodge slighly, but the Hunter's claw digs from the left side of his chest all the way up to his right shoulder. Had that been his neck... He would be lucky to have his head. MF hits the ground hard, and the Hunter stands over him. A single shot rings out, and Nate quickly looks over to see Tur finishing off the first Hunter. Nate has no time to reload a bolt, so he drops his crossbow and brings out his bat, whacking the bolt deeper into the Hunter's chest as it attempts to slash at MF while he is down on the ground. Acting as a makeshift stake, the bolt pierces all the way into the Hunter's flesh, and it stumbles backwards, but does not fall. Tur and Natus rush over now, seeing MF laid out on the floor. Nate swings his bat again, driving the bolt even deeper, and the Hunter lets out quite a loud scream, as it actually continues to charge. It flies through the air, landing on Nate's chest, knocking his bat away from him. The impact was pretty rough, and Nate was now totally unarmed. Tur picks up his pace and rushes full force, driving Mr. Stabby into the face of the Hunter before it has a chance to strike Nate. It doesn't sink too far in, nor does it cause a good amount of pain, but it does distract the Hunter, and that is all that matters. The Hunter stands up all the way again, and is met with a bullet to the skull. It splinters the skull, but the Hunter does not fall. Tur unloads a final shot that enters straight into the brain, and the Hunter falls backwards, clicking once or twice before laying perfectly still... Natus helps Nate back to his feet, and Tur rushes to MF's side. The cut he had received was pretty long, and fairly deep, but he would survive. MF coughs twice as Tur helps him back to his feet. Blood was slowly begining to saturate his shirt. Tur rips a piece of fabric away from a shredded couch and uses it to put pressure on the wound...

"Are you alright?" Tur speaks softly to MF

"I'm better then they are..." MF smiles through the pain, pointing towards the Hunter corpses on the floor with his eyes.

"Heh... Yeah. That you are..." Tur smiles back

MF takes the fabric from Tur and presses it against his wound himself. He winces, and feels a bit light headed, but he fights through the pain. Nate walks across the room to retrieve the bolt that missed the Hunter, but he wrote off the bolt lodged in the Hunter... It had been smashed and bent far too much to be of any use to him now... Reloading his crossbow, Nate walked back to the others where Natus had just joined MF and Tur.

"MF... I don't mean to disrespect your sacrifice here right now in any way, but I have to go... I have to check on the others... You have to understand." Tur looks at him with pleading eyes

"I agree. Exploring the towers is not a priority at the moment." Nate nods, "We should at least check out the source of the explosion..."

"That's fine... That's why we came down here... But, I don't really want to walk across the Village right now. I'll just rest here for a few moments, and then continue with the tower. If I'm lucky, I'll have the rest of this thing cleared before you get back..." MF pauses, to catch his breath, "Good luck... Make sure they're all safe for me..."

Nate and Tur nod to each other and make their way for the door. Natus takes a step forward, but then stops.

"I'll stay here with MF..." Natus concludes, "It wouldn't be safe for him to go about the tower alone. Especially with what we've found thus far..."

As much as Tur hates to admit it, Natus was right. Hunters, Ivys, Zombies... This place sucked.

"Alright. You take care MF." Tur says before leaving through the Right Tower, conspicuously forgetting to wish Natus well. Nate just gives Natus and MF a farewell nod before following Tur out of the Right Tower.

MF sits down against the wall by the elevator, pressing the fabric against his chest. It had been white, but it was now a crimson red.

"We'll just wait here for a few minutes... Okay?" MF looked up at Natus with pleading eyes.

"Yeah... Okay..." Natus tried his best, but couldn't hold back a sigh

To the Market Place- Tur and Nate walk away from the Right Tower, looking at the black smoke up on the horizon. Something had definitely gone on there. Nate rubs his chest, and looks down at the bruising that is starting. That Hunter had looked powerful, but he had no clue how hard that impact would be. Tur calls out for Nate to act fast, and Nate has to lunge to the side to avoid the outstretched arms of a zombie. Nate wanted to take that thing out so bad, but he cared more for his friends that could be seriously injured. So Tur and Nate broke into a jog, crossing the Village as quickly as is possible for them. They pass the farm and housing center, and Tur stops abruptly. When he had left House 100, the door had been mostly close... Now it was wide open... But now's not the time. Running full force the last few hundred feet to the Market Place, Nate and Tur are just about knocked back by an unseen force as they look at the husk of the Market Place... It was a pile of wreckage. The right side was completely gone... Just a pile of ashes and smoke...

"Oh... my... God..." Tur's mouth is still on it's hinges, "What happened here?"

"The Judge..." Nate answers, as astonished as Tur was, "It had to be the Judge..."

"No..." Tur mouthed, barely audible.

The two men rush into the Market Place at the same time, without announcing their plan. They run in, weapons raised, and see that not only is the Hardware store torn down to nothing, but the General Store was blown to hell as well.

Tur and Nate split up, searching for anything... weapons, files... bodies...

"Hello?! Anybody?!" Nate screams out

"I don't see anything here... Nothing. No bodies or anything... Except..." Tur cuts off as he walks through the ash of the Hardware store, kicking at a very large arm... Tur remembers that arm. That's the arm that held him suspended in the air while Martin revealed his betrayal... That was the Judge's arm...

"He's... dead..." Tur grins

"Who's dead?!" Nate says, overly worried

"The Judge!"

"What?!"

Tur motions for Nate to come over, and they both stare down at the now char black arm. The two men smile to each other, the others must be safe...

"It must've been one hell of a battle." Nate smiles

"Somehow, I wish I could have been here for it..." Tur grins back

"So the others must still be trying to escape somewhere else in the Village... That's reassuring." Nate lets out a deep breath, "Come on Tur, let's get back to the Tower and help MF and Natus clear it."

Tur shakes his head. "That's alright. You go back and help them... I'm going to check House 300 while I'm up here. I'll meet up with you guys later."

"Why don't I come with you? As a matter of fact, let's go get Natus and MF." Nate tries to keep his group together

"No... I need some time alone if that's cool with you..." Tur says while shaking his head

"Alright..." Nate doesn't want to leave Tur, but by now Nate knows that Tur rarely wavers after making a decision, "But remember... No heroics when you're all alone..."

Tur mockingly grins to Nate, as Nate leaves the Market Place. Breaking into a jog once more, Nate dodges the Undead and crosses the Village again. His lungs burned, and his chest throbbed, but he continued on, wanting to reveal the news to the others. Back at the Right Tower, Nate bursts through the door, causing MF and Natus to raise their weapons at such an entrance. Not even flinching, Nate stops his sprint and takes several breaths as quick as he can, the smile on his face very evident.

"Guys... The Judge... is dead!" Nate reveals with a grin from ear to ear

Natus jumps from his sitting position with a flare in his eyes mimicking the flames of hell. "Impossible!"

Housing Square- Tur watches as Nate leaves the Market Place and starts to jog away. Tur takes on last look at the arm in the wreckage before taking off himself. The others weren't dead, the Judge WAS dead, and he was alive. Things were looking up. Tur laughed to himself as he left the Market Place and into the Housing area... Yeah Karter, now what? Your baby is dead... Looks like you'll have to show yourself now. And when you do... Tur breaks his train of thought as he stands in between House 100 and House 300. The door to House 100 was open, and there were sounds coming from inside... Tur wanted to check them out, but he remembered what happened the last time he inspected a noise in that house... He got infected, and that just wasn't cool. Instead, Tur headed up the steps to House 300 and and slid the key into the lock, opening it. Tur then dropped the key on the window sill by the door, leaving it there just in case... As Tur pushes open the door though, an overwhelming stench of death filters out. I mean, the whole Village reeked of death, but this was different. It was stronger, more... fresh... Tur's hand lay on the knob, now uncertain of his course of action, but he didn't stop... Not now. Opening the door, Tur walks into the Living Room area of the house. There are @stairs@ to go up to the second floor as Tur walks in, and the smell seems to be coming from there. In the living room, there is everything you would expect... Television, couch, etc. However, there is a #Statuette# of Dr. Karter on the end table. Ugh... How sickening. Tur searches around and finds out that this house belongs to a man named Simon, and he apparently ran the Hardware Store... Wow... Hope we wasn't in there when it went up in flames. Tur looks farther down into the dining room, seeing some #papers# on the table. From the dining room, there is a @kitchen@ and what looks like @stairs to the basement@. There is sound from the basement. Not a crash, but not a thud... A skitter? Something was moving down there...

Infested Warehouse- NES cries out in pain as the acid soaks through his skin... He drops his axe and fumbles wildly for the first aid spray in his pocket. He manages to get it out, but is unable to work the nozzle with his injured hands. He holds it straight up in the air, pleading for someone... ANYONE... to come and help him. Unfortunately for him, no one does, as they have their hands full with the spiders. NES becomes shaky on his feet, wobbling to and fro, the poison taking over his body. Things become dark for NES as he stumbles backwards, not really knowing that he is even moving... The first aid spray drops from his hand and rolls across the floor, stopping as it clatters into his axe. His knees becoming weak from the toxins, he falls over backwards and against the Warehouse door. With the last of his strength, NES fumbles with the door, managing to get it open. As he does, he collapses just outside the door, vomiting up a mouthful of blood. The skin on his arms and chest was peeling away from his muscles, and was beginning to shrivel up... The chemical reaction on his flesh was sending off a unique scent of burning flesh that was acting like a beacon to the undead. Two zombies wander down from the behind the warehouse. They are dressed in overalls, probably from the farm originally. NES gurggles out something, trying to say something to warn the others, but he cannot force his voice box to work. His vision was going blurry, but he could stir make out the corpses slowly making their way towards him. NES' foot was still holding the Warehouse door open, and he used the very last of his strength to move his foot out of the way, allowing the door to close. They may get him, but he didn't want them getting into the Warehouse as well... A tear rolled down NES' cheek... He had just wanted to be a researcher... To cure some disease, for the greater good of man. But he had been dropped of in this hell... As the two zombies were just above him, NES' life flashed before him in all but a few seconds. His birth, childhood, teenage years, getting the letter from Umbrella, the plane ride, the Farm, the Judge... And the Spiders... Another tear rolls down his cheek as the first zombie bites into his abdomen... The toxins had paralyzed his body, but he could still hear the sounds of his flesh tearing away. The second zombie leaned down and tore into the right side of his chest... NES made his peace with God as everything around him began to swirl into darkness... Even now, NES still held out the hope that someone would be out to save him... But the darkness stole his hopes away... And NES thought no more...

Inside the Warehouse, the other researchers had their hands full with the two giant spiders in front of them. AZ watched NES plead with them to come to his aid, and then as he escaped the Warehouse. He was sorry that he couldn't do anything to help him, but there was just no way around the spiders right now. AZ was still chewing on a green herb that he had popped on the walk to the Warehouse, and he bit down hard on it now... Hoping that his aim would be true. AZ pops a round into the spider in front of the door, before passing in between the two arachnids and popping another round into the second spider. This catches the attention of both of the spiders and they slowly turn towards AZ. They are bleeding from their wounds, but continue on nonetheless...

"GSMY! LJ! Now!!" AZ screams as both of the spiders begin to head towards him. AZ has to dive to one side to avoid an acidic spit from the second spider.

GSMY turns his Assualt Rifle on the spitting spider and pulls the trigger for a short burst of fire that explodes the abdomen of the spider, killing it and spilling it's acid on the floor. AZ fires another bullet into the first spider, and lj adds a burst from his Edge to the back of the spider. The spider's body lets out a sigh and falls over backward, acid spilling from it's corpse. AZ lets out a sigh of relief and cuts back between the two spiders to return to the others. CC comes forward to meet him, and a gush of acid from the spider's corpse covers her legs. It isn't as acidic as the spray, but it still was enough to leave her with a serious burning sensation. AZ has to catch her from falling, and he takes her back towards the door. GSMY and lj stop and come back as well. TJ follows suit.

"Ow, ow, ow!" CC shrieks, "I thought it was dead!"

"It seems that even in death it can attack... Sort of like revenge from the grave..." GSMY sighs

"Are you poisoned?" AZ quickly asks

"I... don't feel posioned... My legs just hurt... That's all..." CC whimpers

"NES... We have to go get NES..." Lj taps his Edge against his side, "He didn't look so good at all..."

The other researchers look toward the door, seeing the #rusty axe# and #first aid spray# on the ground... NES wouldn't have left them unless he was really messed up. The five left walk to the door and slowly push it open... The sight they see appales them. Two undead corpses were feeding on NES, his eyes wide open and speckled with blood. He was dead... AZ slams the door closed again, the zombies not detered from their meal... AZ tried to hold it together, but even he let a tear roll down his cheek...

"He had asked for help..." AZ chokes, "I didn't go to him quick enough..."

The others are silent... The Unholy Trio had claimed another life. Although they hadn't ordered this strike directly, they had created this hell. And that was good enough for them. Each one silently vowed revenge for NES' death... No one spoke. No one moved... They were paying their last respects... AZ walks away slowly, just a few steps across the web. The #bronze object# was still on the ground. CC and TJ weren't able to retrieve it because they had nowhere to hold it... lj and GSMY were diverted from their task by the news of NES' death... Everyone wanted to march right up to the Karter Mansion and kill all three of those bastards... Hopefully, their time would come... And soon...

"Guys... The Judge... is dead!" Nate says, doubled over, hands on his knees, but with a grin on his face nonetheless.

"Impossible!" Natus blurts out. Did he look upset? No...

"Yeah... Tur and I saw his charred arm in what was left of the market place. We didn't find any other bodies - we didn't find anything at all - so we assumed the others were alright. Don't know where they went though. Tur convinced me to let him go to check out the houses alone; who am I to stop him?" Nate stopped hear to take a breath.

"The dead are wandering all over the place now, though. You can't go anywhere without running into 'em. Let's finish this place up, then return to the inn to drop some stuff off." Nate stood up and walked over to MF, when something sprung into his mind. He had a couple of green herbs in his pocket.

Taking out the green herbs, he handed them to MF with a wink. He had also taken out the yellow herb without noticing, but as he handed over the herbs, he realized it was in his hand. The herbs had worked wonders on the others; this yellow one couldn't be any different. After all, he had found it in a hospital. He eyed the others for a second as he felt the texture of the herb between his index finger and thumb, then popped it into his mouth, chewed, and swallowed. Tasty.

=======

After MF has recovered, we'll obviously get back on the elevator and continue our investigation. I'll press Natus for whatever he is hiding, and remain openly suspicious of him until he does.

=======

GSMY looked at the zombies and his fallen friend outside. He yelled at the top of his lungs "NES you we not go without justice." Lloyd opened fire on them, the zombies barely got up from their dinner to walk towards him before about seven rounds went at their heads. Watching the zombies die again, with bullets to the head he takes NES's cash, Red Gemstone and files the Poem and Hidden Note in his Starter Kit. Before walking away from NES he could see a strange liquid in NES's wounds. He talked so softly yet loud enough for everyone to hear him.

"NES you had a noble heart, and deserve a fate worse than those of this village. *Drawing his Knife* With that I FREE YOU FROM THIS VILLAGE AND KARTER'S CONTROL! With a rush of tears in his eyes he rams the knife into NES's head."

It was over, NES could rest in peace without becoming a zombie under the control of Karter. His tears rolled down his face while his stern enraged look grabbed NES's Axe and put away his knife. Giving LJ the First Aid Spray and Red Gemstone.

"Be careful LJ your low on ammo." It was all Lloyd could muster out of his mouth.

Drving the Axe into the spiders as he marched towards the bronze object, examining it and putting it away. Then he looked at one last thing, the Wearhouse Office.

"Yo, LJ! Lets find out whats in the office and get back to the Inn to rest up."

"wtf???"

*I try not to make too much noise.*

*Whispering*

"That could be someone who is hurt, or it probably isn't... it could be an undead bastard waiting for fresh meat. Let me look at the facts, Stacy is at the Inn, Jim got killed...3 times, Evan is at the pub, and Stacy said her mom died just a few minutes ago.... I guess it's a zombie."

*I look around the house and see a bunch of photos.*

"Hey wait, what did that photo say earlier? Oh yeah, It said entertainment center."

*I look around for an entertainment center. There is none on any of the top floors.*

"This village sucks....I want out.......I wish I never came here..........Why am I talking to myself????"

A few seconds later

"Damn, I almost got killed, I better watch it. I wonder how those other morons are doing.....wonder if they got better luck than me.........I hope they're struggling just as much as me..........As long as AZ is getting his ass kicked I'll be happy heh.......Why do I keep talking to myself? Probably it's just cause I'm alone. Better than being with AZ......I bet someone has probably been hurt a lot, maybe someone is even dead......I hope not.....unless it's AZ hahaha.......That would be seriously f***ed up if someone died because of hanging with AZ. If someone has died, I hope AZ gets his just reward soon, like get killed by a zombie, or slashed to death by a crimson head.

*I am about to leave but before leaving I scream from upstairs.*

"Is anyone down there!?!?!?!? If so say I'm not a zombie, If your a zombie just stand there and moan."

*Regardless of the response, I slowly walk downstairs, Shotgun raised aiming high, in a defensive stance, While going down I feel the wall slowly for a light switch. When I reach the bottom I am ready to swing the butt of my shotgun at the head of anything that moves.*

*I see a horrid sight, blood everywhere and the body of a woman reanimated, slowly moving towards me, I quickly take the offensive and swing the butt of my shotgun at the head of the zombie doing my damn best to knock it to the floor. If I succeed, I'll quickly stomp on her head, shattering her already decomposing head. I look around and find a couch, and an Entertainment center, I quickly examine the entertainment center in hopes of finding shells, another key card, or more of those damn good herbs. After taking those rewards, I quickly walk over to the couch and move it around, I pick it up and place it on the spot where the destroyed zombie head rests, I examine the area that the couch used to be on, before finally sitting on the couch for a few minutes. I get up and tear the cushion up with my hands to make sure there is nothing of worth inside. I leave and walk upstairs, Then I walk outside of house 100, I look at house 300 and notice the previously closed door now open. I walk to house 300 and walk inside and look around for danger before screaming out.*

"WHO THE F*** IS IN HERE!?!? B**** YOU BETTER ANSWER OR I'LL BE PISSED, I HAVE NOT BEEN HAVING A GOOD TIME SO WHOEVER IS HERE BETTER COME OUT AN SHOW THEMSELVES BECAUSE IF I FIND YOU, I'LL BE SURE TO BLOW YOUR F***ING FACE OFF!!!!!"

*I quickly search the area, and find Turducken.*

"Whoa.....what's up man? Haven't seen you in a while, what's been going on? You find anything? I found something, If I were you I'd stay away from the forest for now, and if you do go, stay the f*** away from the shack, I also found two more people, two girls one is Stacy the bar owners daughter and the other is a sarcastic little b****, my type of girl hahahahaha."

*I hear something down in the basement.*

"Well.....since you found this place first, I'll be letting you explore it, Ok? Bye."

*I quickly run away; to the Inn.*

'Well, I guess this is what I deserved. I should have shot that damn robotic camera..' That's actually the first thing that came to my mind as I sat there, holding the crimson rag to my chest, while an unnerving feeling going through my body. Were those things poisonous? Am I infected with the virus now? Would I change into one of those...things?

"Natus, now that we are alone, why not tell me who you really are?" The question seems to come out of nowhere, and Natus still has the odd smirk on his face. "What do you have to lose? I think I am the least of your worries at the moment..." Before he could answer, the doors of the tower fly open.

Thankfully, it's Nate. "Guys! The Judge...He's dead!" What? "Impossible!" is the only thing Natus can say. "How do you know? What happened to Tur?"

Nate explains what they saw on their way to the marketplace, the severed arm, the zombies, and how Tur demanded to go off to the houses. "I think we should finish up here, then head off to the Inn to drop off some items." Can't really say I would be against that. But this wound of mine....

Once again, on cue, Nate hands me a GREEN/GREEN Herb combo. "Take it man, you need it more than I do."

"Thanks, Nate. I owe you one." With that, I remove my shirt. Thankfully, my snazzy leather jacket had not been damaged, but I wouldn't have minded if it had, considering the condition of my chest. Cleaning the wound of blood and hair as best I can, I spit enough times into the bag of crushed herb until it makes a gooey paste, much how AZ did back in the bathroom of the Inn.

Biting my gun, I smear the paste into the wounds. The pain is not unlike pouring hydrogen peroxide onto a cut, only this cut stretched all across my chest. When it was fully packed, I gingerly slid my tattered shirt back on, and then my jacket. The wound begun to feel cool, and the pain was already subsiding. "Wow, this is some good ****. Why hasn't this been marketed to the public?"

Getting to my feet, I check my handgun. 11 rounds left. Will definitely need to choose my battles from now on. With the news of the Judge's death, I am feeling invigored for the first time in what seems like weeks. "Alright, lets head on back up to floor 3, and see what is in the manager's office. Once we finish up here, and drop stuff off at the Inn, we need to find AZ. If that computer circuit indeed is what we need to reprogram the turrets, that should be our ticket outta here!"

"What about Tur and Tidus, they are off on their own!" Natus reminds me.

"We will worry about that when we come to it. For now, let's go." With that, I lead the group back into the elevator, where moments ago, threatened to be our tomb. "Nate, would you care to do the honors?" Sliding in the key, the doors close, and Nate hits 3.

There, we head into the MANAGERS OFFICE using my KEY, taking any useful items, and heading back down to FLOOR 2.

And once more, we rode into battle. Warriors of light, we had been sent to cleanse the Village, to liberate the victims of the T-Dragon outbreak. Our holy swords shall cut a righteous path through villainy…

What?

Well, we’ll shoot their asses, then. These green ****ers outside the elevator weren’t to be trifled with. But trifle I had to. We had to secure our friends’ safety. Bulldoze through, it was the only way.

Another fight. I sighed.

"Open the door. I’m getting through. Those greens bastards ain’t stoppin’ me,” I told Furious.

For all I know Natus will shoot me in the back..." I felt sad, though. Someone I’d trusted so well back at the hospital, part of our grand team…now reeked of naught but suspicion and conspiracy. I should have caught it sooner…

"Hey now, that was uncalled for..." Natus actually grinned.

What the **** ever.

Nate threw in his two cents. "We should stay here, in the elevator. They'll be toast before they ever reach us."

Okay, but no way in hell would I fight with Natus. I voiced this. "What don't you two understand? I'm NOT teaming with Natus. I'd rather fly solo..."

It was true. I was alright on my own, anyhow. Until he explained himself, he was nothing to me. Except a possible traitor. Could he be working with the Trio as well?

"Let him go by himself... God knows he loves to martyr himself."

That pissed me off. Loved it? Hardly. But it was necessary at times. Ingrate.

I snapped back, "Yeah. And you'd be dead if it weren't for it."

"Oh I know... And I thank you kindly for that. But if you can't trust me now, those 121's will tear you apart..."

…Damn. Maybe so. But could I really trust him? He knew these things were coming. How?

God damn it, I knew if we were to succeed in this battle, we had to work together. But I wasn’t pleased. "Fine... But you stay in front of me... Lest you want to meet Mr. Stabby."

"Once we do this, we will be home free. Are we ready?" MF asked of us.

Yes. Just get on with it!

MF opened the doors, but…they weren’t there? What the hell? Where’d they go? They WERE smart. They were going to spring a trap, and corner us in here…

Well, **** that. I wouldn’t let ‘em. I dashed out into the open area and hit a left. Where were they?

I heard the others shout as I did so, but screw them. I had enough waiting. I’d take the fight to them. Sam would be my guide.

My screwing Nate’s plan over caused the others to spill out after me moments later. There was one! Eat Sam, *****! I shot a burst into one, but it only stunned it a bit. Crap.

It came flying at me with its claws ready to kill, but a shot blew it forcefully to the ground. I shot a look back. Natus? He saved me. God, I was confused now. But I felt a little bad for my outburst at him at the same time. I didn’t know what to think anymore.

The green critter still struggled on the ground, alive. Holy hell. That shot woulda blown an elephant’s god dam head off. Well, maybe not, but you get the drift. I came upon it, going SINGLE mode, and aimed at the back of its head.

“Stay,” I growled, and fired.

Crud. Furious and Nate were having their fill, and MF looked injured. Damn it, it was my fault. If I’d stuck to the plan, maybe it wouldn’t have happened…

Nate slammed Louie into a bolt he’d planted inside the beast. Wounding it badly, but it didn’t stop. It knocked the bat away. Looked grim for Nate.

I managed to get over there in time and give the ****ing monster a face full o’ Stabby. Didn’t seem to do much, but at least it kept Nate from injury, so in that sense, it did a lot.

I followed up with a pair of shots to its head, killing it as well. Not bad, not bad at all. While Natus gave Nate a hand up, I checked on Furious. I felt like ****. His wound was entirely my fault…

It looked bad, too. I used fabric from the torn couch to try and staunch the bleeding. "Are you alright?" I quietly pondered.

"I'm better then they are..." MF smiled in the face of his pain.

At least he was in good spirits. That was a good sign. "Heh... Yeah. That you are..."

I lowered my head, a bit ashamed of my foolishness. I never cared about it getting me hurt, but to get a friend hurt…

"MF... I don't mean to disrespect your sacrifice here right now in any way, but I have to go... I have to check on the others... You have to understand,” I pleaded.

"I agree. Exploring the towers is not a priority at the moment." Nate nodded, "We should at least check out the source of the explosion..."

Right.

"That's fine... That's why we came down here... But, I don't really want to walk across the Village right now. I'll just rest here for a few moments, and then continue with the tower. If I'm lucky, I'll have the rest of this thing cleared before you get back..." MF bravely said. "Good luck... Make sure they're all safe for me..."

Nate and I headed out. But before we were gone, Natus told us, "I'll stay here with MF... It wouldn't be safe for him to go about the tower alone. Especially with what we've found thus far..."

It was true. And with MF injured, it didn’t hurt for him having some company. But Natus? No, shut up. He saved your life. He’s…I don’t know. I could trust him, maybe? I did not know…

Still confused, angry, and upset, I said, "Alright. You take care MF."

We were off!

“C’mon Nate, pick up the pace,” I said with urgency, jogging toward the billowing smoke in the distance.

Hey, that’s odd. I left the Jones house pretty closed. But now it wasn’t. Somebody open it, or something? Who cares, the market was paramount. We sprinted to it.

And were freaked.

The marketplace had been annihilated. Blown straight to hell. The Judge had a rocket launcher…couldn’t be…

"Oh... my... God... What happened here?" I croaked.

"The Judge..." Nate answered, as astonished as I was, "It had to be the Judge..."

"No..."

We searched fervently, intent on finding them. Finding some answers. Finding…something. We searched for a good while.

"I don't see anything here... Nothing. No bodies or anything... Except..." I stopped myself. ****!!! It was…that same nasty arm that held me like an action figure. The Judge’s! He was…dead? Whoo!!!

"He's... dead..." I happily cried out.

"Who's dead?!"

"The Judge!"

"What?!"

Nate came over, and was just as elated. "It must've been one hell of a battle."

"Somehow, I wish I could have been here for it..."

Some revenge on that thing would have been nice, but oh well. Even better was the fact that neither of us found any evidence to suggest our allies had died. Any of them, and they’d killed the Judge! I was impressed.

"So the others must still be trying to escape somewhere else in the Village... That's reassuring." Nate let out a deep breath, "Come on Tur, let's get back to the Tower and help MF and Natus clear it."

"That's alright. You go back and help them... I'm going to check House 300 while I'm up here. I'll meet up with you guys later."

"Why don't I come with you? As a matter of fact, let's go get Natus and MF."

To be perfectly honest, I needed some time to clear my head, sort things out. Not to mention most of my misadventures had been spent with Natus and Nate. The hospital, the tower… I needed to just be by myself.

In that sense, I could understand why Tidus had gone off alone. Except, I don’t think he did it just because he needed to be alone. He just had a very anti-team attitude.

"No... I need some time alone if that's cool with you..." I explained, hoped he wouldn’t be offended. He was one of the few folk I’d worked well with here. I still hadn’t gotten much of a chance to know the others, at any rate.

"Alright... But remember... No heroics when you're all alone..."

I had no arguments. I’d play it safe for the time being, if I could help it. Giving one last triumphant look at the severed arm of the Judge, I felt my own spirits picking up again.

Off to the Housing District…again! On the way, I put the last 5 shots from the clip into Sam and tossed the empty away. 17 now, almost full again. But poor Shocky was wiped.

I laughed happily. Yeah Karter, now what? Your baby is dead... Looks like you'll have to show yourself now. And when you do...

Noise emanated from House 100. Probably just Mrs. Jones shambling around. I sighed. Let’s check out House 300, and ditch this damn key at last.

UGH!! A rotten, putrid smell permeated this house. Fresh stench of death…

Well, I hadn’t come all this way for nothing. I continued in, Sam tracing the room, just in case.

Smell came from upstairs. I’d check there later, I guess. The living room looked plainly plain, but uh… a small statue of…Karter? WTF?! As my experiences here had taught me, these things were there for a reason, usually. I decided to grab it. If anything, I could smash it later, vent some needed Karter rage.

Further investigation discovered that this place was home to a Simon, owner of the hardware store. Gone now… was he gone with it? I hadn’t seen.

Some papers were strewn on the dining room table. I took them for later perusing. Walking into the kitchen, I started to look about, but heard more noises coming from the basement. It was déjà vu all over again. But this sound was different. Even so, I’d best be on my guard.

Looking around the dining room a little more, I was startled by some insane shrieking coming from near the front door.

"WHO THE **** IS IN HERE!?!? ***** YOU BETTER ANSWER OR I'LL BE PISSED, I HAVE NOT BEEN HAVING A GOOD TIME SO WHOEVER IS HERE BETTER COME OUT AN SHOW THEMSELVES BECAUSE IF I FIND YOU, I'LL BE SURE TO BLOW YOUR ****ING FACE OFF!!!!!"

What the hell? Some maniac?! One of the Trio? I had no idea. I stood at the corner of the kitchen, and swung out, aiming my Sam right at the yelling man’s head.

It was Tidus…

I lowered the gun, slightly (I heard what he tried to do to AZ) and yelled back at him, “What in blue hell is the matter with you?! Are you stupid?! If I was a monster, or Trio member, you would have brought attention to yourself and gotten attacked! Christ, man! Think!”

Unfazed by this, Tidus continues. "Whoa.....what's up man? Haven't seen you in a while, what's been going on? You find anything?”

“Not really…”

“I found something, If I were you I'd stay away from the forest for now, and if you do go, stay the **** away from the shack.”

I shook my head. “Had no plans of going to the forest. Only you did, I think. What’d ya find there, anyway?”

“I also found two more people, two girls…

I raise an eyebrow at the odd way he emphasizes this.

“…one is Stacy the bar owner’s daughter and the other is a sarcastic little *****, my type of girl hahahahaha."

His crazed laughter unnerves me, but I take a step at him. “Stacy Jones is alive?! And someone else?! Where the hell are they?!

[I’ll assume Tidus tells me]

“You left them unprotected?! Go back and watch them, god damn it! I’ll be along shortly!”

"Well.....since you found this place first, I'll be letting you explore it, Ok? Bye."

I was dumbstruck. He was…what the hell?! He just left them at the Inn defenseless?! STUPID BASTARD!!! He’d BETTER take his ass back there. I’d have to check after I was done here to be certain. If he wasn’t there covering them…I’d wring his ****ing neck. What was that guy’s deal? Did he ever explain WHY he tried to turn poor AZ into fertilizer?

I didn’t think he did… Well, best get started…

THE GAME PLAN
-Thoroughly search kitchen, take all goodies
-Head into basement (warily), explore, take goodies, kill monster(s) with Sam, can’t afford to get beaten down alone.

-NOTE: If I run out of item space, discard money. It’s pretty useless.
-Head to Inn, be happy to see Stacy okay, safeguard them for now as it doesn’t seem we’ll meet at the destroyed Market
-Look over every file in Item book (haven’t read ‘em all yet), see what items are inside for taking.

*At the Inn.*

"Anne, Stacy Are you guys all right!? I just met up with another researcher he should be coming here soon. Until then we have nothing to do, so Anne, why don't you tell me everything that has gone on in this village, who are you? How do you know Stacy? When did you get here? What do you do here? I also would like you to tell me everything about Karter, besides the fact that he is a crazy madman who wants us all dead for the sake of the "Judge". And don't give me some smart-ass comment cause I'm really not in the mood, it is really dangerous outside right now, we won't be going anywhere for a while, so the least you can do is fill me in. Ok? Oh and if the other researcher seems to think I'm crazy, don't worry about him......He will try to scare you with some nonsense about me trying to blow some other guys head off, but it's not true, I'm a helper, not a murderer. When he comes in let him talk, just agree with whatever he says, make it look like you believe him, that might calm him down... Ok? Now that I have that out of the way answer my questions........please :) I'm already stressed out enough as it is, you don't know what it's like to get attacked by corpses and reanimated crimson insanely strong corpses. It's really exhausting, especially if they bite and attack you. So again, please answer my questions, and do your best to refrain from being sarcastic."

*I walk over to the counter of the Inn, and sit on top of the counter, I look at Anne.*

"Your pretty :)"

*I sit and await the answers to my questions.*

lj feels guilty for NES death. Trying to get in that room had almost cost him his own life earlier, but now it cost one of his fellow researchers their lives. Lj sees GSMY heading towards NES body and is about to approach him in till TJ grabs lj by the shoulder. lj pushes TJ hand off his shoulder and walks over to the broken gamecube to find what had popped out of it. lj turns to see GSMY entering the warehouse again with tears down his eyes. "What? does he want us to feel sorry for him?" lj thinks to himself.he sees GSMY walk over to him and offer NES first aid stray and gem stone. lj gives GSMY a cold stare and and takes both items saying nothing back. He asks TJ to spray the rest of the first aid stray on his back and tosses the can away. Seeing that everyone was ready lj unlocks the door and tosses the key away."Everyone ready"

President is Bush, vice president is Dick, so a whole lot of ******* is what we gonna get- Talib Kweli
From: Seymour Natus | Posted: 10/10/2004 2:16:39 PM | Message Detail
"He's dead! The Judge is dead!" Nate was beaming as he ran into the Tower's entrance.
"Impossible!" Natus practicaly shouted. Nate went into detail about how they found the judges burnt arm...
"No, you're wrong... It's impervious to conventinal weaponry!"
“What? How do you know so much anyway?” Nate blurted out.
“Well, the bestiary says,” Natus began.
“Don’t give me that BS, I want the truth man!” Nate shouted, while the half concious MF did little more than groan.
“I…” Natus stumbled
“Come on man, tell me.” Nate said with a stern look.
“…I’m a sleeper agent sent to recover data on the Trio’s handling of the ARTNEM2, The Judge as it’s now called. If I determine that they are misusing it, or putting it at risk in any way, I put a call in using this radio and boom, no more village.” Natus said, calmly, as Nate stared at him open mouthed. Natus reached into his trenchcoat, and pulled out a small black box, similar looking to an old mobile phone.
“Wait…if you’re to report on them keeping the Judge safe, why would reporting otherwise make Umbrella destroy the village?” Nate asked, confused.
“Because, the Trio and Umbrella were never on best of terms anyway. It’s now highly likely that the Trio hijacked the ARTNEM2 a few months ago. After that, it was just a simple modification job to turn it into the Judge. Umbrella would much rather have it dead, than in the wrong hands.” Natus explained.
“I think I understand… but how do you know all about these freaks?” Nate asked, still in shock from the sudden burst of information.
“I have a friend…comrade… he’s a real expert on all this stuff, a survivor of Raccoon no less. He even faced down the original TNEM, barely… Nicholai Ginovaef… He’s given me all this information… Any more questions?” Natus finished, as Nate continued to stare at him.

Natus wasn’t prepared to divulge his other mission here in the village, or how the loyalties between the Trio are fractured… The look on Karter’s face when he finds out, Trent trying to steal the Omega Strain right from beneath him. With the power of that virus in hand, the Judge would look like a girl scout. Of course, Trent wasn’t the only one intrested in obtaining the Omega Strain… Natus could become a very wealthy man by the end of the week………

Right Tower- Nate was still catching his breath after his cross Village run. But after finding out such great news, it didn't even dawn on him that he was literally gasping for breath. MF leaned a hand against the back wall and pushed off in order to get back to his feet. He winced at the pain in his chest, but tried his best to put on the 'show-no-pain' facade. Natus was shaking his head violently, trying to make sense of what Nate had just told him... The Judge? Dead? It just couldn't be... How was it possible? Unless the others had found a spare Nuke hiding in the frozen food section, there was no way the Judge was going to have gone down so easily... As Nate walks over to Natus and MF, Natus snaps back into his ignorant persona...

"The Judge is dead? How? I mean, how can you be so sure?" Natus tries to squeeze as much information out of Nate as he can...

"Oh I'm sure... Tur and I saw his charred arm in what was left of the market place. We didn't find any other bodies - we didn't find anything at all - so we assumed the others were alright. Don't know where they went though..." Nate stops again to rub his aching lungs, "Afterwards though Tur convinced me to let him go to check out the houses alone... Who am I to stop him?"

Natus' jaw was hanging wide open... He couldn't believe it... No. He wouldn't believe it. Nate had finally reclaimed his lost breath.

"The dead are wandering all over the place now, though. You can't go anywhere without running into 'em. Let's finish this place up, then return to the inn to drop some stuff off." Nate finished his summary and walked over to MF, holding out the green/green herb combo that he had been safeguarding for some time now. MF was wounded, and needed it a hell of a lot more then Nate needed to keep it in his pocket. It was never a question in Nate's mind. MF gladly accepted the offer and imeadiately started to apply the herb mixture to his wound. Cleaning the wound of blood and hair as best he can, MF spits enough times into the bag of crushed herb until it makes a gooey paste. Biting his gun, MF smears the paste into the wounds. The pain is not unlike pouring hydrogen peroxide onto a cut, only this cut stretched all the way across his chest. As Nate reached into his pocket though, his hand had brushed against something else... Pulling it out, Nate realized that it was the yellow herb that he had found in the hospital. He eyes it over once or twice, before shruging once and popping the unfamiliar herb into his mouth. He chewed it once, twice, and then swallowed it. Mmmmm... It tasted sweet... His body began to feel... Odd... Empowered... His whole body tingled, and shuddered unvoluntarily for a few seconds, and then he became still... His mind clouded over for a few seconds, but then returned to normal as well. Wow... That was... Odd. Nate doesn't really know what happened, but he can say that his muscles feel less tired and he feels way more focused then he did a few minutes ago. Nate watches as MF finishes applying the herb mixture to his wound, and lowers his shirt. The wound on MF's chest begans to scab up and heal almost instantly...

"Thanks, Nate. I owe you one." MF smiles as he watches his wound heal over, "Wow, this is some good ****. Why hasn't this been marketed to the public?"

Nate and Natus shrug. They don't have a good answer... Besides the fact that most of the herbs were lost in the Raccoon City explosion, there is no real reason. If this many herbs had made it into the Village, there should be no reason why this hasn't gone public. But upon closer inspection, Nate and MF realize that Natus isn't shruging at MF's question... He is trying to make sense of something else...

"Impossible..." Natus whispers to himself.

"What's impossible, Natus? What's going on with you?" Nate almost growls

"The Judge can't be dead! It's impervious to conventinal weaponry!" Natus barks back

"What? How do you know so much anyway? Why are you being so distant and all-knowing?!" Nate had to take a step back in order to keep his cool

"Well, the bestiary says--" Natus is unceremoniously cut off by MF

"No. Don’t give us that BS anymore Natus... We want the truth, man! Haven't we proven ourselves trustworthy after all we've been through so far?!" MF is still holding his chest, but he has regained quite a lot of vigor

"I... I--" Natus stumbles, trying to think of yet another lie

"Come on man, tell us..." Nate was trying to his best not to beg, but at this point he would do anything to find out what's going on with Natus.

Natus sighs heavily, and looks at both of his companions, still unsure if he should divulge himself... But a mixture of geniune friendship, and guilt of keeping them in the dark sets in... "I’m a sleeper agent sent to recover data on the Trio’s handling of the ARTNEM2... The Judge as it’s now called. If I determine that they are misusing it, or putting it at risk in any way, I put a call in using this radio and boom, no more Village."

Natus pauses here, and Nate and MF aren't quite sure what to say or do. They are actually quite confused. "Wait... If you’re to report on them keeping the Judge safe, why would reporting otherwise make Umbrella destroy the Village?"

"Well, you see... The Trio and Umbrella were never on best of terms anyway. Kris Karter and the rest of the trio are wonderful scientists, but they have a tendency to go against the will of Umbrella. Karter himself has gone against the orders of the Umbrella Executives multiple times, but it has led to significant research results. The Trio combined has gone renegade enough times to fill an entire file cabinet. But Umbrella refuses to reprimand them. They are too much of an asset to the company. Umbrella was even aware of the fact that the Trio had hijacked the ARTNEM2 a few months ago. Umbrella had refused to send Karter a Nemesis Parasite, because Karter wanted to infuse it with his newly created T-Dragon Virus. Umbrella wasn't convinced that the T-Dragon would be a viable agent to use in Bio Weaponry. Combine that with the fact that Umbrella shirked Karter of credit on the original Nemesis project, Karter thought that he deserved to have another parasite to work with. It seems he turned to extreme measures in order to get one into the Village. After that, it was just a simple modification job to turn it into the Judge. And while I am sure that Umbrella would love to see the Judge now that it is operational and functioning beautifully, they would much rather have it dead, than in the wrong hands." Natus continues his explanation

"And about these freaks? How do you know about them." Nate is still digging for information

"I have a friend... comrade... He’s a real expert on all this stuff; a survivor of Raccoon no less. He even faced down the original TNEM, barely... His name is Nicholai Ginovaef. He’s given me all this information. Any more questions?"

Natus stopped here, not wanting to give away too much. MF and Nate were left stunned. Natus... an agent of Umbrella? One of the people they were fighting against? Could they trust him...? MF checked his handgun and tried to place what Natus had just told them out of his mind. If he couldn't trust Natus now, they would all surely end up dead.

"Alright, lets head on back up to floor 3, and see what is in the manager's office. Once we finish up here, and drop stuff off at the Inn, we need to find AZ. If that computer circuit indeed is what we need to reprogram the turrets, that should be our ticket outta here!" MF nodded to Nate and Natus, and then walked to the elevator, waiting for the two of them.

"Yeah..." Nate trailed off a bit, "We should finish up here..."

Nate walked into the elevator, stepping over a Hunter corpse, and Natus wasn't far behind. MF slid the key into the elevator, and the doors closed on them.

"Nate, would you care to do the honors?" MF smiled

Nate couldn't help but grin back as he happily pushed '3'. Back on the third floor, the three men treaded carefully until they got to the manager's office. MF took the chained key from his pocket and slid it into the keyhole. It unlocked and MF cautiously pushed open the door. With weapons raised, the three men rushed in, and were happy to find it empty. Considering the fact that the manager had been in the bathroom, they didn't really expect anything in here... but you never knew in this place... The room wasn't too big, and was very bland. Cream colored walls, cream colored chairs, a oak desk, a potted plant... Everything you would expect. On the desk was a #manila folder#, which MF took before the others even noticed it's existence. Opening the desk, there was a small #Metal Box# with a three digit built in lock. MF also takes that for himself as well. Nate searches the back of the room and notices a trash can. Kicking it over, he finds a #burnt paper# that was still a tad legible. He takes it and returns to MF. Natus has no luck in searching the plant or the chairs. This office was mighty bland, but they had managed to get a few things from it, so it wasn't so bad. That metal box was kinda intriguing.

"We ready?" Nate asks when he cannot find anything else of interest

"About so..." Natus confirms

"Just one floor left." MF adds as they make their way back out of the manager's office and into the elevator. Nate of course hits the button and they travel to the floor 2. MF pulls out the key and the doors open... into darkness. Faint light filters through the clouded windows, but not enough to give very much detail. Are those... tanks? A small #button# glows with orange light just to the left of the elevator. Is it a light switch? A release switch?

"Are we going further?" MF sounds uneasy

"I wonder what's in here..." Nate takes a single step forward, and Natus does the same...

However... They all pause as the PA system starts to crackle to life...

House 100- Standing in the living room of House 100, Tidus looks around. Someone had definitely been through here once before. He takes quick notice of the noise downstairs and takes two steps back, clutching his shotgun. And he starts talking to himself yet again... He has been doing that a lot lately... Maybe the stress is getting to him...

"That could be someone who is hurt, but it probably isn't... It's probably an undead bastard waiting for fresh meat. Let me look at the facts, Stacy is at the Inn, Jim got killed... 3 times. Evan is at the pub, and Stacy said her mom died just a while ago... I'm guessing it's a zombie." He concludes

Tidus examines the furniture, and tables in the room, checking for anything useful. There is nothing, but the pictures here jog Tidus' memory. Mostly because a lot of them resemble the exact one he had found in the Forest.

"Hey wait, what did that photo say earlier? Oh yeah, it said entertainment center... But I don't see an entertainment center around here..." Tidus groans at his current situation, "This village sucks... I want out... I wish I never came here... Wait. Why am I talking to myself?"

Tidus shakes his head, trying to clear his mind. This was not the time to be slipping into insanity... But his attempts are futile, as he simply continues to talk to himself.

"Damn, I've almost got myself killed a few times now, so I better watch it. I wonder how those other morons are doing... I wonder if they have had better luck than me... I sure hope they're struggling just as much as me. As long as AZ is getting his ass kicked I'll be happy, heh heh... Why do I keep talking to myself? It's probably just cause I'm alone. Better than being with AZ at least." Tidus smirks. He was going insane. Not from a virus, but from the stress of the entire situation. He walks through the living room and looks down the stairs, where the door has been left open. Tidus' grin fades as he stares down the steps. Anyone or anything could be down there. He paused for a moment on the first step...

"Is anyone down there!? If so say I'm not a zombie. If you are a zombie just stand there and moan." Tidus was getting weirder and weirder as he went on... The only answer to his question is a faint shuffling...

Tidus heads down the stairs and into the main basement... A back door is open here, left wide open. Examining the rest of the room, Tidus sees that blood covers most of the basement interior. It covers the #couch#, the television, the washer, #dryer#, and even the #entertainment center#. Entertainment Center! Tidus attempts to move away from the stairs, but is met by a middle aged woman lumbering towards him. She has a hole in her chest, made from some sort of pointed object. Tidus chokes up on his shotgun and gets ready to whack her with the butt of his shotgun when she got close enough... What Tidus didn't anticipate though, was the corpse not coming within striking range before it vomitted all over his legs. The vomit burned him through his pants, and did not smell pleasant. Tidus was forced to charge the zombie himself, cracking it in the skull with the butt of the shotgun. When the zombie fell, it reached out for Tidus' legs, and Tidus brought down the his heel on it's head. The zombie was dead... again. Tidus quickly found a towel and vigorously tried to clean his pants off. Tidus whimpered at his misfortune. Tidus makes his way over to the entertainment center and opens it, trying to do anything to keep his mind off of his pants. Opening thr Entertainment Center reveals a Television, DVD Player, Playstation 2, and a shelf. Pulling out the shelf, Tidus finds #a Handgun Clip#, #a box of Shotgun Shells#, and #key#.

There seems to have been more here, because there is holes where the dust has fallen. There is the shape of a handgun, and a shotgun, which must have been here before. He was too late to find them, but at least he got the ammo. Taking everything he finds in the Entertainment Center, Tidus goes and sits down on the blood stained couch to examine his bounty. The Handgun Clip was odd, modified to hold 18 bullets instead of 15. The case of shells was missing one, so it only had six in the box. The Key had an engraving for 'Room 002' on it... Hmmm... Perhaps the Inn? Tidus pockets all of his findings and stands up again. Feeling that the couch is a tad out of place in the center of the room, Tidus pushes it out of the way... Revealing a @trap door@... A basement under the basement? Tidus tries to open it, but it is firmly locked. Of course... Tidus is happy with what he has found thus far, and exits out the back door, not wanting to stay in the blood soaked basement any longer. Tidus jogs around to the center of the Housing Square, and notices that the door to House 300 is now wide open... It had been locked when Tidus went into House 100... Walking up to the door with his shotgun in hand, Tidus screams inside...

"Who the **** is in here!? *****, you BETTER answer or I'll be pissed! I have not been having a good time, so whoever is here better come out and show themselves... Because if I find you, I'll be sure to blow your ****ing face off!!" Tidus takes a step into the house, ready to shoot at the first thing that moves...

House 300- Standing in the center of the living room, Tur couldn't help but smile. The Judge was dead. Their problems were all but gone now. If they just watched out for the smaller BOWs, they should have no problem getting out of the Village. Tur reloaded his SE and dropped the empty clip. Noticing the Statuette of Karter, Tur has the sudden urge to smash it to pieces. He picks it up and raises it over his head... but then he stops himself. Although he wants to, he doesn't know if the statue itself is important. Tur shakes the statue, and it doesn't feel too thick... Almost as if there was a hallow center to it... The stench of death beckoned to Tur from upstairs, but he would deal with that later. Tur walked over to the Dining Room table and took the scattered papers... He would read them later, in a safer place. Tur then made his way into the kitchen, where a half eaten dinner lay cold on the countertop. Someone must have left here in a hurry. Sounds come from the basement, and Tur couldn't help but think about the last House he explored... He shuddered, remembering that he had been infected for the first time there... He hoped to never go through that again. The kitchen contained a #dishwasher# and refrigerator. Tur opens the fridge and finds some leftover spaghetti, and lunchmeats, as well as some Coke and Diet Coke. If he was hungry, he could eat something here. He hadn't had anything since House 100... Tur inspects a cabinet above the stove, but it only holds pots and pans... There is also a #cabinet# under the sink... But Tur is startled at this time by a loud screaming from the front door of the house...

"Who the **** is in here!? *****, you BETTER answer or I'll be pissed! I have not been having a good time, so whoever is here better come out and show themselves... Because if I find you, I'll be sure to blow your ****ing face off!!" The voice practically shrieks out

Had Simon come home? Had the trio found him? Could it be some random maniac? Tur wasn't taking any chances as he swung around the corner, his Edge raised... And finds Tidus standing in the doorway, holding his shotgun. Great... Some random maniac it is... Tur lowers his Edge ever so slightly... He had heard the story of what Tidus had tried to do to AZ. Tur moved all the way around the corner now and fully confronted Tidus at this moment.

"What in blue hell is the matter with you?! Are you stupid?! If I was a monster, or Trio member, you would have brought attention to yourself and gotten attacked! Christ, man! Think!" Tur was irate... And correct. And he couldn't help but think that Tidus was reeking from the same odor that was coming from upstairs.

Tidus grins, oblivious to the fact that Tur was scolding him. "Whoa... What's up man? Haven't seen you in a while! What's been going on? You find anything?"

"Not Really..."

"I found something... I'm just going to say that if I were you I'd stay away from the forest for now. But if you do go, stay the **** away from the shack."

Tur just shook his head. "I had no plans of going to the forest. Only you did, if I recall correctly. What’d ya find there, anyway?"

"I found two more people who aren't all kinds of zombie- Two girls..."

Tur raises his eyebrow, and Tidus gladly continues...

"One is Stacy the bar owner's daughter, and the other is a sarcastic little *****, my type of girl..."

Tidus laughs and nudges Tur with his elbow. Tur is a little uncomfortable by this and he takes a few steps away from Tidus... He begins to wonder why he let Nate go back to the Tower... Then Tur's mind clicks. Stacy Jones was alive. Tur quickly takes two steps forward and places his both hands on Tidus' shoulder. He never holsters his Edge, so the metal digs uncomfortably into Tidus' shoulder.

"Stacy Jones is alive?! And there's someone else too?! Where the hell are they?!" Tur was mixed with anger and relief

"I... Left them at the Inn... You know... They'll be safe there..." Tidus winces from the pain in his shoulder, and has to pull away from Tur.

"You left them unprotected?! Go back and watch them, god damn it! I’ll be along shortly!" Tur screams at Tidus, as he cannot believe that Tidus would just leave them all by themselves. There is a sound of scittering from downstairs... Tidus hears this and decides it is his time to leave.

"Well... Since you found this place first, I'll be letting you explore it. Ok? I'll head back to the Inn then. Bye." Tidus rubs his shoulder and turns towards the door.

The scittering gets louder, and closer... As Tidus tries to exit the house, a vent in the kitchen pops off and some sort of monster drops down from it. It's skeletal torso sits on an eight legged abdomen with pathetic bee wings and scythe like arms... The Chimera screechs and skitters back into the vent, just to pop out of one right above the front door. Tur and Tidus are stunned by it's sight, and fall back a few steps. More skittering is heard downstairs, and from the kitchen another Chimera pops out. Tur and Tidus are surrounded by these horrific creations. Uh-oh... They look hungry... But... What? The PA system begins to come to life, and the Chimera skitter back up into the vents... However, neither Tidus nor Tur can bring themselves to move from their spots just yet...

Warehouse- The surviving researchers stand in silence. No one knows what to say, or what to do next. AZ is the first to move as heads over to a nearby crate and grabs a tarp in order to wipe off CC's legs. She smiles as he does so, trying not to think of the pain.

"Damn... You alright? These things are more trouble than I ever imagined they would be. Poor NES... I wish I could've gotten to him in time..." AZ sighs, and CC nods.

GSMY seems to be fuming, and starts a charge for the front door of the Warehouse. lj begins to head over to GSMY, but TJ grabs him by the shoulder. lj brushes him off and instead walks over to the GameCube. It was busted beyond use, but the bronze object a few feet away looked to be intact. Walking over to it, lj picks it up. It was a key... With a Cross on it... It was larger then a normal key, but not by much... lj pockets the key, and heads back to the group. GSMY was just exiting the warehouse right now, and he is shot right back into the Warehouse as three zombies practically tackle him as soon as he opens the door. Two of them are just zombies to him, but the third is NES... Reanimated from the T-Dragon virus. GSMY has to scramble back to his feet, and the zombies split, one heading towards lj and TJ, one heading for GSMY, and NES heading for AZ and CC. AS NES closes in on CC, she pulls out his dagger and stabs it into the chest of NES before AZ can get off a shot. He gurggles and falls to ground. GSMY unloads a flury of bullets into his zombie, and another flury of bullets into the one heading towards lj and TJ, a fire of revenge burning in his eyes. CC turns towards the sounds of the shots and doesn't realize it when NES crawls forward and sinks his teeth into her calf. She yelps out in pain, and AZ pulls her away from NES' grasp. NES rises back up to his feet, and is met by a round of assault rifle fire to the back, which tears through his flesh around where his heart should be. NES falls to the ground... Dead for the second time. A stray bullet nearly hits AZ in the leg, but he manages to dodge it at the last second. And then then Warehouse is silent again. CC cries out and holds her bleeding leg... The T-Dragon showed it's randomness once more. NES had just been infected 10 minutes ago, and he had already turned into a undead corpse... A tear was in GSMY's eye as he made his way over to NES' body. He checks him, making sure that he is actually dead. GSMY pilfers through his corpse, taking his money, red gemstone, poem, and hidden note. GSMY gets on one knee and whispers to NES, 'NES your death will not go without justice.' More tears roll down GSMY's face as he leaves NES' body lie, and makes his way over to NES' former axe and first aid spray. He throws the axe into one of the spiders as a final measure of revenge and takes the spray. He heads over to lj and holds out the stone and spray to him.

"Be careful LJ your low on ammo." GSMY was still fighting back tears

lj took the items from him, and had TJ spray his back with the first aid spray. It was cold, but felt good. The can was emptied onto his back, and the TJ just dropped it to the floor. AZ was busy making a makeshift bandage out of tarp for CC, who was still limping. Her legs had taken a severe beating. She was actually becoming a tad dizzy... When AZ had completed his bandage, he stood up and made sure CC was able to continue. She nodded, although not too convincingly, but AZ knew that there was nothing more he could do for her right now. CC bends over, wincing in pain, and retrieves her dagger from NES' chest.

"Let's finish up in here, and head over to The Farm... We still need to find these damn bookcases, and I could stand to come up on some more ammo..." AZ admitted

"Alright, LJ! Let's find out whats in the office and get back to the Inn to rest up for a few minutes..." GSMY said, having overcome his tears

lj leads the group to the office and unlocks the door, throwing away the key. Opening the door, the group is cautious when they enter... Flipping a nearby light switch, the small office fills with white light. On the back wall, there is a portrait on the back wall that depicts a holy scene, with a #emblem# inlaid into it that has rays of light emblazoned onto it. The office also contains a #file cabinet# and a meticuously clean desk. There is nothing on top of it... However, there is a large #desk drawer# that is just begging to get opened... Entire Village- The rooms of the Village crackle and sizzle as the PA System begins to emit static throughout every main structure in the Village. The surviving researchers all turn towards the nearest speaker, fearful of what was about to happen... They all remembered what happened the last time an announcement hit the PA... People died, and the Judge made his macabre debut... There is the faint sound of voices, before there is a hushed silence... And then there is a single voice... The voice that sickens everyone unfortunate enough to still be alive. It's Kris Karter... The self proclaimed God...

[Karter]: To be quite honest... I expected you all to be dead by now. In actuality, it should have been the most probable, as well as the most oppurtune thing... Because as soon as you are all dead, I get to leave this forsaken purgatory. My beautiful T-Dragon Virus has already done wonders for this Village... But even this is going to pale in comparison to the unveiling of the Omega Strain. The T-Dragon was the final turn to the rubix cube that we've been spinning for years. The necessary link for the fusion of the Ultimate Strain. Everything has fallen into place perfectly thus far. When this is all over, the Village will be a barren wasteland, Umbrella will assume us dead, and we will be able to live a life of prosperity and glory using the research that we have uncovered from our time here in the Village. I mean, I can take full credit for the T-Dragon Virus... That is my child, my creation. A beautiful virus it is, but it is not perfect. Even my creation has it's flaws... But the Omega Strain... The Omega Strain is brilliant. But I cannot take full credit for the Omega. In fact, it requires me to give quite a few other people a slight nod in it's creation. Marcus, Birkin, Alexia... Without their previous efforts, the Unholy Trio would have never been able to complete the Omega Strain. It would still be a failed experiment. But with the combined efforts of the former Umbrella geniuses, and the three current Gods of Umbrella, we have finnaly done it. All of our viruses... They are able to... merge in some way... They feed off each other's strengths, while destroying all of their weaknesses. It is the perfect Virus... And I am holding the only vial in existence in my hand right now.

Karter pauses for a moment, while laughter eminates from the background. The faint sounds of footsteps shoot out of the speaker, and a new voice breaks through... The Hospital crew knows this voice all too well... It is that deceptive bastard... Trevor Martin...

[Martin]: Call us what you will. Blasphemers, Traitors, Iconoclasts. But no matter what you say, the fact of the matter still remains that we have completed more in the past four months then science has been able to do since the dawn of time. First, the T-Dragon Virus... Which as of this moment, is the choice virus to spread a mass infection, in order to debilitate a large area. It's makeup is perfect for not only breaking down the cells, but also for mutating them. The T-Dragon can do things that Umbrella has only dreamt of for years... Then, with the power of the T-Dragon, we completed the Judge. A Nemesis that surpasses it's predecessor in every conceivable way. And now, finally... The Omega Strain. While it would be stupid to use for a mass infection, Omega can be used to create Ultimate Beings. Beings that can rival the Gods themselves. They will be indestrucable...

Trevor laughs, and a third voice takes over... No doubt Trent Wilder.

[Wilder]: But you may be wondering to yourselves, 'Why are they telling us this?' Well, it's actually quite simple. Not only did you aid in the creation of the Judge, but you have now aided in the completion of the Omega Strain. You see, we didn't have any T-Dragon left after the injection we gave to the Judge. And there was no time left to extract, and splice, and create more T-Dragon in this environment. But, lucky for us, the Judge was under orders to return to base after serious injury. When he showed up at the Mansion, missing an arm, that was all we needed. As the Judge entered a small state of hibernation in order to regenerate faster, we were able to cultivate and remove a series of internal cells from his wound. They were damaged, but alive, and contained the exact genetic makeup of the T-Dragon Virus. With those cells, we were able to add the T-Dragon to the chain, and the Omega was born. Had the Judge never been exposed to such trauma, we would have never been able to extract cells from that deep inside of him. His exterior cells just wouldn't have done the job...

[Karter]: So I must thank you kindly for all that you have done for me. I might even add your names into my report as research assistants for the work you have put into this project.

Karter takes a deep breath, and the PA system crackles a bit as a low rumbling comes out of nowhere.

[Karter]: But this is where your stories end. You were of little use before, but now you are absolutly useless to us. We have not only completed the Judge, but we have collected all of the combat data that we will ever need. Our new company will be extremely pleased with this... And thrilled when we show off the Omega Strain.

[Wilder]: There is only one thing standing in our way of escaping this place.

[Martin]: There must be no survivors. You all must meet your deaths... And remember Tur, I have a special one planned for you...

[Wilder]: Shut up Trevor... This isn't the time for personal vendettas.

[Martin]: Why the hell not?! I want to watch him bleed...

[Wilder]: Trevor... I just want to get off of this peninsula as soon as possible. Do you not comprehend that it is still highly possible that we could die here? We only have control over the Judge. Not the other BOWs that we have created. Kris' contact isn't going to come here unless he is certain that there are no survivors. According to Kris, he doesn't want any chance of this leaking to Umbrella, or the outside world. And quite frankly, neither do I. We should just kill them as quickly as possible.

[Karter]: Trent, this isn't the time...

Karter coughs with a hint of anger, and Wilder and Martin quiet themselves. They had announced their bickering to the entire Village. They had forgotten that they were broadcasting... But as calm and cool as ever, Karter starts up once more.

[Karter]: Ahem... So there you have it. You were brought here to the Village in order to do research. And in a roundabout way, you've done just that. I cannot thank you enough for all that you've done. Your reward will be your deaths, and your permanent escape from this Village. I must bid you farewell once more, but as you fall silently into your graves, just remember one thing: You've helped the Unholy Trio go from Legends to Deities.

[Martin]: And to our dear compatriot Seymour Natus... Did you think that I was that much of a fool? You reek of the Umbrella Internal Affairs Offices. The way you walk, the way you acted... Your knowledge of the Licker. And that little radio of yours... I was there to observe, so observe I did. I hope you don't seriously believe that you will be using that radio of yours to contact anyone. Besides the fact that we keep only a single radio in this village, but there is a jammer blocking all radio waves in and out. The only place that radio of yours would even work would be the bottom of the Center or the--

[Wilder]: Shut up you fool!

[Karter]: Both of you, Silence! They will all die a similar death, so there is no need to call any of them out. They are just like the rest of the Village to me. Worthless. I feel no remorse for infecting them... And I feel no remorse for these people as well. Research subjects is all they are to me. It should be the same for you two as well. Regardless if they are Umbrella or not. Regardless if you hold a grudge or not... Trevor, I'm looking at you. Let us get going... The Center awaits us.

Karter shuffles around for a few seconds before coming back across the PA...

[Karter]: Oh! It seems someone else has something to say to you all... Here you go.

[Bellowing Voice]: JUDGMENT!! VENGEANCE!!

[Wilder]: Vengeance...? What the--

[Martin]: Ha HA! It's become personal for him! This is brilliant! This far surpasses all of my expectations for the Judge! I cannot believe his capabilities! We are truly geniuses...

[Karter]: My, my... How you continue to surprise me, my Judge. If it is vengeance you seek, then vengeance you shall obtain. Exact your unholy Judgment against all who stand in your way. Restrain yourself no longer! Attack with all your fury!

[The Judge]: VENGEANCE!!!!!

The deafening roar causes the PA system to overload, and static fills the speakers... before they cut out completely... leaving the Village in total silence once more...

"Lloyd was losing his mind, his mission must be completed. This wasn't about Ivan now he had to stop the Omega Virus and the T-Dragon. In his cane in that pocket was his final hope.... the t-virus andiote. Each one of the viruses had the t-virus in common, if he get that sample or duplicate the Omega Virus he was sure he could find a way to stop Karter. Lloyd could only think for a moment."

What should I do? Should I tell them? Should I'm the one to blame for all this? That I helped Karter with his T-Dragon Virus....

Lloyd opened the desk drawer and took what was inside. Then ran out to where he left NES's axe, and returned the others.

"Alright, lets head on back up to floor 3, and see what is in the manager's office. Once we finish up here, and drop stuff off at the Inn, we need to find AZ. If that computer circuit indeed is what we need to reprogram the turrets, that should be our ticket outta here!" proposed Furious.

"Yeah..." I began, lost in thought. "We should finish up here..."

Furious had walked over to the elevator, so I followed, stepping over a reptilian corpse on the way. I couldn't wait to finish this place off. As I got onto the elevator, I asked MF about the basement. After being told that we needed a password to access, I wrote this down in my notebook. "Find password for right tower basement".

Being allowed to press the button to take us up to the third floor, which please me, we were on our way. When the doors opened, we made our way over to the manager's office and MF opened it. He cautiously pushed open the door while Seymour and I raised our weapons. Nothing would get the slip on us! We rushed in, and were relieved to see there was nothing of immediate danger. The room sure was bland though.

That insignificant observation out of the way, I began to note the other things the room. Furious snatched a manila folder off the desk and a curious metal box from in one of the drawers. While MF had been taking these things, I was wandering around the back of the room. Seeing a trash can, I kicked it over to see what was inside. Seeing the various contents spilled everywhere reassured me that this place had at one time been fairly normal... oh, wait, nevermind... what's a burnt piece of paper doing in here?

I picked it up and quickly read what was still legible and wrote it down in my notebook before sharing my discovery with the others and then promptly discarding it.

"We ready?" I ask after the other two have made what they can of my discovery.

Receiving confirmations from the other two, we headed back to the elevator and head down to the second floor.

Wow! This floor sure was dark! With what little light is filtering through the windows, I think I can make out some big tanks. Can't be too sure though, and I definitely can't tell what's inside of them. I notice a glowing button next to the elevator exit and assuming it's a high-tech light switch, I reach to press it.

"Are we going further?" MF asks just as I'm about to press it.

I reached for the button, but was startled and jump back when the PA system announces the voices of the Unholy Trio. After their macabre proclamation, I glance at the others before I return to the button and press it. As I do, I raise my crossbow to protect me from whatever might have been lurking in the darkness.

".....WTF?... This s**t gets better every minute! Hahahahaha. Oh man....I love this....Anyway....Tur, I'll see you, good luck. By the way, you might need this more, it's a special handgun clip, It holds 18 shots instead of 15, don't throw this away."

*I give him the clip*

*I leave House 300 and head to the Inn.*

*At the Inn, I close the door and ask....*

"Stacy, Anne, you two alright?"

(I assume they are.)

"Did you guys hear that? Anne, as you can see, Karter doesn't care about our lives. So will you believe me now?"

(I assume she answers yes.)

*I take a quick look inside of the Item Box and look over any notes I have missed, I also take a look at the laptop, and look at the encrypted note. I obtain the password and put the notes and laptop away In my compartment of the safe. I examine and take the ornate puzzle box, I notice the indents in it, and I look in the box for anything that fits, I take the yellow gem and place it in the indentations until I find one that fits. After combining both, I walk into room 001 and open my compartment and store the puzzle box in it. I close my compartment and walk into the main room. I open the item box and claim the Bar office key I seen at the bottom of the box.*

"So....Anne, it doesn't look like we'll be leaving this Inn for a while, so why don't you tell me everything about this village? Might as well keep ourselves occupied, and me informed on the going ons in this village that lead up to this second Judgement. Oh and please refrain from any sarcasm, I'm not really having a good time. I'm sure you're not either, but I'm also sure you haven't been getting bit by zombies, and insanely strong reanimated crimson zombies, and other things that just defy god's creations. So please tell me anything that will prove useful. There will be another guy joining us soon....that is if those crazy looking insect like creatures don't kill him. There might be even more people joining us....unless there dead. Oh and, if this guy who goes by the name of AZ, or AZpunisher, asks you anything....don't give him any info, he's a bastard, don't even follow him, he's lead a few other people to there deaths, so whatever you do.....don't.....listen....to....AZ, ok? If he yells at you, kick or something, if he is too nice to you kick him harder, if he just plain looks at you for more than two seconds, make him bleed, don't trust him, ok?"

(I assume they answer my questions)

*I grip my shotgun and slowly walk over to room 002. I use the key on it but I don't open it yet.*

"Anne, Stacy, there could be anything in this room, I want you two to hide behind me just in case something comes out of there."

*I knock on the door, twice, and then quickly open it and aim high. I slowly walk in and explore room 002.*

I stood, poised to dash the statuette to pieces. And yet…I reconsidered. After all, this stupid village seemed to feed off of things like things. Never knew when a blue token or iron bar or box of cereal would be used in a puzzle. But it wasn’t just that. It had to have some kind of significance. It just had to.

Odd, the thing felt hollow.

I snatched up the papers in the dining room. Searching the kitchen, I did my best to ignore the strange skittering from the basement. The hell was it? Sounded like bugs or something.

The dishwasher really didn’t interest my. Man, I was starving. Only ate peanut and meat patties in what, 2 days? I was losing track. And hadn’t drank anything.

Whaddaya have here? Ooh, pasghetti!! And Coca-Cola! I love Coca-Cola! I eat quickly, shoveling mouthful of red noodles and meatballs down my gullet, and chugging the dark liquid.

It was the best meal I’d ever eaten, under the circumstances.

As I started to look at a cabinet, I heard from the entry-way: "Who the **** is in here!? *****, you BETTER answer or I'll be pissed! I have not been having a good time, so whoever is here better come out and show themselves... Because if I find you, I'll be sure to blow your ****ing face off!!"

Jesus Christ, who the hell was that? Martin, Karter, er….the other one? The homeowner, unhappy with my intrusion? Another form a whack-job?

Let’s find out, eh? I swung out with with my good friend Sam Edge leading the way. That was his name, you know. Sam Edge. Anyway, it wasn’t any RANDOM psycho, just a very crazed acting Tidus, with his shotgun of justice. Something musta spooked him but good.

Sam went down ever so slightly as I barked at him, "What in blue hell is the matter with you?! Are you stupid?! If I was a monster, or Trio member, you would have brought attention to yourself and gotten attacked! Christ, man! Think!"

Tidus smelled like death. He must’ve just come from a shuffle. I noted his shoes were stained with goo. Zombie chunks? Ugh.

"Whoa... What's up man? Haven't seen you in a while! What's been going on? You find anything?" he asked.

"Not Really..."

"I found something... I'm just going to say that if I were you I'd stay away from the forest for now. But if you do go, stay the **** away from the shack."

I informed him that, "I had no plans of going to the forest. Only you did, if I recall correctly. What’d ya find there, anyway?"

"I found two more people who aren't all kinds of zombie- Two girls..."

Er…okay. All kinds of zombies, huh?

"One is Stacy the bar owner's daughter, and the other is a sarcastic little *****, my type of girl..."

Agh. I backpedaled a little from his nudging and commentary. But wait just a damn second…the bar owner’s daughter, Stacy?!

I shove my hands into Tidus shoulders and in a angry, yet glad, mixture of tone, ask hurriedly, "Stacy Jones is alive?! And there's someone else too?! Where the hell are they?!"

He explained, "I... Left them at the Inn... You know... They'll be safe there..."

I was outraged. "You left them unprotected?! Go back and watch them, god damn it! I’ll be along shortly!"

The loud skittering picks up again, and we listen intently.

Tidus was spooked. "Well... Since you found this place first, I'll be letting you explore it. Ok? I'll head back to the Inn then. Bye."

He didn’t quite make it. BAM! A kitchen vent flying off, and some kinda…spidery…bee-y…buggy…mantis-y…hybrid thingy emerges. I raise Sam defensively at it, but just like that it disappears back down the vent.

“****…Tidus…what the hell was that thing?” Of course, I wasn’t expecting him to know. Only Natus seemed to hold those kinds of answers. Part of me wished he was there right then.

SLAM! My head snapped to above the front door. It was there now, or maybe it was a different one. Who knew? We retreated a few steps. Not good. A screech behind us, and it was another one back in the kitchen. We were caught in a pincer attack.

Holy hell. Not again.

The PA scared them back into their respective vents as it cracks to life…

The voice is Karter’s. I scowl, intent on hearing this.

“To be quite honest... I expected you all to be dead by now,” he mocked.

“You’ll find we’re all full of surprises,” I retorted, not caring that he couldn’t hear me.

“In actuality, it should have been the most probable, as well as the most opportune thing... Because as soon as you are all dead, I get to leave this forsaken purgatory.”

“Better make yourself comfortable, you son of a *****,” I muttered under my breath.

“My beautiful T-Dragon Virus has already done wonders for this Village... But even this is going to pale in comparison to the unveiling of the Omega Strain.”

What?

“The T-Dragon was the final turn to the rubix cube that we've been spinning for years. The necessary link for the fusion of the Ultimate Strain.”

This information could be useful. At the risk of my safety against these buggy guys, I continued to listen. They’d retreated for now, anyhow.

“Everything has fallen into place perfectly thus far. When this is all over, the Village will be a barren wasteland, Umbrella will assume us dead, and we will be able to live a life of prosperity and glory using the research that we have uncovered from our time here in the Village.”

Selfish bastard!

“I mean, I can take full credit for the T-Dragon Virus... That is my child, my creation. A beautiful virus it is, but it is not perfect. Even my creation has its flaws... But the Omega Strain... The Omega Strain is brilliant. But I cannot take full credit for the Omega. In fact, it requires me to give quite a few other people a slight nod in its creation. Marcus, Birkin, Alexia...”

More Umbrella dogs. I hate this stupid company.

“Without their previous efforts, the Unholy Trio would have never been able to complete the Omega Strain. And I am holding the only vial in existence in my hand right now.”

No…

A new voice takes over. It’s…Martin…

“Call us what you will. Blasphemers, Traitors, Iconoclasts. But no matter what you say, the fact of the matter still remains that we have completed more in the past four months then science has been able to do since the dawn of time. First, the T-Dragon Virus... Which as of this moment, is the choice virus to spread a mass infection, in order to debilitate a large area.”

These people were sick…

“Its makeup is perfect for not only breaking down the cells, but also for mutating them. They will be indestructible...”

…and insane…

A third voice took over. The last Trio member, who I had the last problem with, and couldn’t seem to recall his name.

“But you may be wondering to yourselves, 'Why are they telling us this?' Well, it's actually quite simple. Not only did you aid in the creation of the Judge, but you have now aided in the completion of the Omega Strain.”

I didn’t, did I? Feh, didn’t matter. God damn Judge was dead now. The Market gang took his ass out somehow.

“You see, we didn't have any T-Dragon left after the injection we gave to the Judge. And there was no time left to extract, and splice, and create more T-Dragon in this environment. Yeah…laugh it up, mother****er…

Oh, great. Sounds like they’ll let the somehow-still-alive-Judge to run roughshod through the Village as soon as he recovers.

Wilder, that was his name, spoke up. “There is only one thing standing in our way of escaping this place.”

“There must be no survivors. You all must meet your deaths... And remember Tur, I have a special one planned for you...” sneered Martin.

I hadn’t forgotten… I wondered if the coward would try it himself, or just send more of these freaks.

Wilder seemed to hold some sense, and said, “Shut up Trevor... This isn't the time for personal vendettas.”

“Why the hell not?! I want to watch him bleed...”

Bring it. You’ll be disappointed how it ends, bastard. My hatred for that mole overcame when hate for Karter. Possibly it had for some time. I wasn’t sure. He deceived us, he injured me. I would injure him back, and he would not survive our encounter. Even if had to die as well…

They continued to bicker.

“Trevor... I just want to get off of this peninsula as soon as possible. Do you not comprehend that it is still highly possible that we could die here? We only have control over the Judge. Not the other BOWs that we have created. Kris' contact isn't going to come here unless he is certain that there are no survivors. Hmm, interesting…

“Shut up you fool!” barked Wilder.

And Karter, “Both of you, Silence! They will all die a similar death, so there is no need to call any of them out. They are just like the rest of the Village to me. Worthless. It seems someone else has something to say to you all... Here you go.”

He said that rather jovially. How odd.

“JUDGMENT!! VENGEANCE!!”

God damn. It WAS true. That thing lived. ****.

[Wilder]: Vengeance...? What the--

[Martin]: Ha HA! It's become personal for him! This is brilliant! This far surpasses all of my expectations for the Judge! I cannot believe his capabilities! We are truly geniuses...

“VENGEANCE!!!!!”

No…

And with that, the PA cut out again.

Tidus didn’t seem pleased with this. ".....WTF?... This **** gets better every minute! Hahahahaha. Oh man....I love this....Anyway....Tur, I'll see you, good luck. By the way, you might need this more, it's a special handgun clip, It holds 18 shots instead of 15, don't throw this away."

Of course not. I accepted it. A clip specifically for the Sam. “Thanks, Tidus…”

He left. As it stood, I shouldn’t hang around either. I was pretty weighed down. Couldn’t collect much from here, and I didn’t feel like taking on those bug monsters after my Tower fights. I hoped the others would assume to now regroup at the Inn as well. I had to drop these things off, and check on Stacy. I promised Evan… I’d do what I could. Nothing I could do for Jim, or his wife…but Stacy was still alive

I shot like a lightning bolt from the house to the Inn. Right behind Tidus. As he begins to question the woman, I note the girl from the picture. It was her.

“Stacy Jones…Jesus, you’re alive. Look, I know you don’t know me, but your father asked me to make sure his family was safe. I went to you guys’ house, but I was too late. I assumed the worst. Thank god you’re alright. I can still keep my promise. I’m sorry…there was nothing I could do to help your mother…or your brother…but I’ll do everything I can to make sure you guys are safe. Trust me.”

I introduce myself to them and give the files in the item box that I’ve yet to see a look over, making the proper notes in mah book as always. I also deposit the money, Water Emblem, Karter Statuette, and Dining Room papers (after reading them) in the box.

Just for uber safety, I swap clips. One more bullet is one more bullet. Tidus makes his way to Room 002. I followed.

He way need backup.

*Putting the most recent events of battle behind him, he enters the small office.. watching the others raid the drawer, and the file cabinet, he shakes his head, then helps Rachel to a chair.. reaching into his pocket, he takes two of the green herbs from the bag, and crushes them within his palm.. picking out the seeds and stems. He then rubs the powder into Rachel's legs, as they are a tad moist from perspiration from where he had tied the canvas bandage so tight..*

"There.. that should help a bit with the pain.. just sit here and relax for a few.. oh, and would you hold onto this for me?"

*Hands her his $500, freeing up space in his back pocket.. from there, he moves to examine the emblem.. acquiring it, if possible.. baring it doesn't set off a trap of sorts.. he then observes what the others have found, and gets ready to depart..*
