<D'oh!. Oh well, I will post anyway...>

As the elevator makes it way back up to floor 3, I try and decipher all that has just occured. Natus - an Umbrella sleeper agent. Nate - one of the best assests on this island, but...huh?

"Hey Nate, what was that yellow plant you just ate? What did it do to you?" He sort of gave me a half smile, with a wink. "Everything, man."

Ok. Mental note: find and eat a yellow herb.

We reach the third floor, and I use the key at the manager's office. Rushing in, we are relieved to see that it's emtpy and devoid of monsters. However, I do find a manila folder and a metal box with a three digit lock. "Hey guys, check this out." When they come over, I open the folder and share it's information with the others.

"Also, there's this." Nate says, and shows us the burnt paper. "I also found this metal box, but I don't think we found the code yet. But I will hang onto it anyway."

With that, we get back into the elevator and head to the last floor on our journey. When the doors open at 2, we see nothing but muted darkness. What looks like tanks (TANKS!?) makes its way into our vision, and a glowing switch is to our left. Just as Nate prepares to push it, the PA system comes on.

After listening to those sick ********, my hope once again plummetted. The Judge, still active. ANOTHER ****ING VIRUS. And, do I detect some animosity between the Stupid Trio?

This alters our plan of attack, but for now, Nate presses the switch, and we enter Floor 2, guns at the ready....

Housing Area- Tur and Tidus stood motionless as the last of the PA system crackled into death. They were left in a stagnant silence... Neither of them knew quite what to do. After listening to the arrogant and pompous rant of the Unholy Trio, they were filled with a wide range of emotions; Everything from rage, to fear, to even a bit of cynical humor. I mean, despite all the death and destruction, this could be construed as quite the humorous situation... But then again, the death and destruction part did take front stage. Tur shook his head, to clear his wandering mind... When he looked up at Tidus, he was staring back at him with a very large grin. Tur opened his mouth to question Tidus on what exactly was funny, but Tidus didn't even give him a chance to begin...

"...What. The. ****? This **** gets better every minute! Heh heh. Oh man... I love this... Anyway Tur, I'll see you, good luck. By the way, you might need this more. It seems to be a special handgun clip. It holds 18 shots instead of 15, so don't throw this away."

Tur had no wish to throw away such precious ammo and was angered at Tidus for making that statement, but he put on a smile for Tidus so he wouldn't take the clip back prematurely. Tur had heard that Tidus was a tad unstable, so he did his best to keep him calm and happy. Plus, a clip that would slide right into the Edge was much easier then transfering bullets.

"Thanks, Tidus!"

Tidus gave Tur a nod and took off for the door in a slight jog. The skittering that they had heard before picked up again, and Tidus paused for a just a moment in the doorway, to look back at Tur. The slight pause cost Tidus though, as from above his head and unbeknownst to him, a scythe-like arm came swinging down from the air duct and caught Tidus in the right shoulder before Tur could react to the sudden appearance of the beast. Tidus howled out in pain and dropped his shotgun to the floor, as Tur fired a single bullet into the duct. There was a small scream from the beast, and then skittering again, as if it were retreating. Tidus picked up his shotgun off of the ground with his right hand, and pressed his left hand over his fresh wound. A tear formed in his eye, but he quickly looked away from Tur and took off through the door, too fearful that he would again be attacked by the mish-mash of a creature. Tur was left holding his Edge, pointed at the duct, and shaking his head in disgust. It's hasty decisions like that that have been getting people killed around here.

"Ugh. I'm getting really tired of the place... Just let one of the Trio get withing firing range. Better yet, just let them get in Stabby Range..."

Tur checked himself, and found that he was pretty weighed down. He wouldn't be able to do a thorough search of this house with everything he was carrying. He decided that he would go back to the Inn with Tidus, to finally meet with Evan's daughter. And as if Tur needed extra prompting, a Chimera popped out of the vent in the kitchen, and began to skitter across the floor. Tur pointed his Edge at it and decided to simply run instead. He didn't want to take any chances with those beasts, especially since he had never faced off with one before. Bolting out the front door, he saw that Tidus hadn't made it too far. He was down on one knee, grasping his shoulder as blood began to seep into the fibers of his shirt. Like a becon, Tidus' fresh blood had drawn the attention of many undeads, and they were quickly closing in on their position. 10 from the west, at least that many from the southeast, and even more then that from the northeast. Not moving now would mean certain death. Tur holstered his Edge and helped Tidus to his feet, and they both began to head down the path towards the Inn, without saying a word, as Tidus fought the piercing pain in his shoulder. Although none of the zombies got within striking distance, it was evident that there were more of them out there. Where ever they had been held up yesterday, they had certainly busted out since then. Or they were let out... Was Karter that insane though? Wait. What kind of question is that? After everything that has happened so far, how could anyone NOT think Karter was insane? Tur stopped thinking as the Inn appeared to them in the distance, still charred and maimed by the earlier grenade explosion. The two men burst through the Inn's Double Doors and Tidus rolled onto the nearest rug, breathing hard in exhaustion. Tur flopped down on a couch, and also caught his breath. The welcoming room of the Inn was empty, and Tur was beginning to think that Tidus lied to him, to get on his nerves. There was no sign of the women he spoke off... But then a woman in her mid-twenties with shoulder length brown hair and glasses came down from the second floor, followed by Stacy Jones... Tur recognized her from the photo he had seen earlier. Tidus rolled up to his feet and joined Tur on the couch, tying a portion of his shirt around his wound to stop the bleeding. He was a bit pale, but otherwise alright. Stacy and Anne came down and sat on a couch opposite the two men. Anne was the first to notice Tidus' fresh wound, and she acts quite cynical towards him as she pushes away Tidus' makeshift bandage to inspect the wound. She snickers once and reties the bandage...

"Now what did you go and do now? Long, slashing wound. Not too deep, but the length of the shoulder. If I had to guess, I'd say... Chimera." Anne sits back down next to Stacy

Tidus and Tur look at each other, and both shrug. However, when Tidus shrugs his shoulder emits a wave of new pain, and he brings his left hand back up to his right shoulder. Anne sighs and shakes her head.

"Chimera. Kind of looks like a large fly and arachnid hybrid. Scythes for arms. Little wings. Play hide-and-seek with their prey. Any of this make sense?"

Tidus nods his head, but tries to sway the conversation away from his injuries. "Stacy, Anne, you two alright?"

Stacy smiles and Anne nods, and it is again Anne who addresses the two men. "I found a MA-120 in the upstairs hallway. How it got here I have no idea."

"It was the Inn Keeper... Charlie Green." Tidus repsonds with a sigh

"What? That's not possible... Unless..." Anne trails off

"Unless what?" Tur pipes in

"It's nothing... And who might you be?"

"I go by Turducken, or Tur for short. You must be Anne. Tidus has told me so much about you... About how much he thinks you are a b--"

"About how great of a person you are!!" Tidus cuts Tur off, but Tur takes satisfaction in seeing Tidus jump

"And Stacy Jones... Jesus, you’re alive." Tur says, addressing the young girl "Look, I know you don’t know me, but your father asked me to make sure his family was safe. I went to you guys’ house, but I was too late. I assumed the worst. Thank god you’re alright. I can still keep my promise. I’m sorry... There was nothing I could do to help your mother... or your brother... but I’ll do everything I can to make sure you guys are safe. Trust me."

"Quite the chivalrous one, aren't you Mr. Turducken?" Anne says with a biting sarcasm, as Stacy simply smiles

Tur is caught off gaurd by this statement, and Tidus takes the oppurtunity to get his word in. "Did you guys hear that announcement? Anne, as you can see, Karter doesn't care about our lives. So will you believe me now?"

"I... He wasn't... Kris is still my boss and a good friend, and I still think I could reason with him if I could just get to him..."

"What?!" Tur screams out, before he can stop himself, "I mean, did you not hear those three? They want us ALL dead. Yourselves included."

"I have ears. I heard what he said. I just think I could get through to him. I've been here since the beginning... We have a certain professional connection. The only person I had a better connection with was with Mark... but I haven't heard from him in too long... I doubt he's alive... But that would mean Kris killed him, right? And everyone else too...? And then he's going to kill us... just so he can escape?" Anne shakes her head and pauses before looking up at Tidus and Tur, a fire burning in her eyes as if she's just realized the truth, "I want him to pay for what he's done to me, and to everyone else here. He can't do this to everyone who put their faith in him... He infected the Village, and is now going to leave like nothing ever happened? Forget negotiations and niceties, if he wants a fight... Then that's what he's going to get. All three of them... Will be dead before I am."

Tidus is taken aback by the directness of the woman's words... but somehow he expected it. Tur on the other hand is overly surprised, and a deathly silence falls over the room from the shock. Tur sighs and gets up from his seat and heads to the Item Box without as much as another word. He places his money, Water Emblem, and Karter Statuette inside the box and then pulls out the papers he found in the Dining Room of House 300. Tur begins to read them as Tidus tries to talk to the now firey Anne once again.

File #34- Karter's Poem

In the beginning, the pure holy light washes across the land in a flash of white excellence,
Leaving behind deep azure skies that glitter with an untained ethereal glow,
And flourishing lands with lush green vegetation as far as the eye can see.

But the newborn lands are soon poisoned at the hands of man, and the firey yellow sun burns viciously upon their wretched forms.
Crimson Blood stains the now tainted Earth, as the Armageddon comes at the hands of vengeful Gods;
And soon the entire world is engulfed by the pitch black shadows, overcome by the grip of the Ultimate Darkness.

And when the Ragnarok is completed and the last of the souls consumed by the shadows,
Only then shall Pandora's Box be open for the Gods to reap the bounties of their actions;
To bask in their Eternal Glory, and start their cycle once more with a new holy light.

[The bottom of the work is signed in a different colored ink]

To my faithful supporter Simon
~Kristopher Karter

Tur looks at the paper behind that to find that it is just a copy of the first page, but somehow it looks different... Maybe it's just Tur's imagination. One is a copy of the original, so they show the same words, but Tur can't help but think that copy is different. Maybe not in the words themselves but... Tur shakes his head, as he begins to think he's looking into things too hard. But what he does know is that apparently Simon held the good Dr. Karter in high regards... Tur can't quite put his finger on it, but he believes that this poem, despite it's obvious oddness, is more important then it looks. But he has no clue right now, so he places it in the Item Box for right now. He looks over his shoulder and sees Tidus smiling and talking his head off, as if he were in a cafe... Lovely... Tur changes clips in his Edge before heading back over to the couch.

"So... Anne, it doesn't look like we'll be leaving this Inn for a while, so why don't you tell me everything about this village? Might as well keep ourselves occupied, and get me informed on the going ons in this village that led up to this Second Judgement." Tidus pauses and grins, "Oh and please refrain from any sarcasm, I'm not really having a good time. I'm sure you're not either, but I'm also sure you haven't been getting bit by zombies, and insanely strong reanimated crimson zombies, and other things that just defy God's creations. So please tell me anything that will prove useful."

"I haven't been getting attacked by Zombies and V-Acts because I have been smart enough to avoid them. And I've spent my life researching viral weaponry, so I take offense to your 'defying God's creations' statement. While I opposed Human Testing vehemently, I have seen the effects of the viruses on humans before, so I know how to approach these BOWs properly." Anne snaps back, but then relaxes her tone, "But yeah... I'm sorry... I guess my research is one of the reasons for the situation we're in... As for the Second Judgment... I'm not even sure how it started... There was an announcement in the lab on the nineteenth that a minor viral agent had escaped into a section of Class 5 when Trevor was transporting it, so Trent and Kris called five of the researchers down to Class 6 to get anti-virus shots for safety and--" Anne cuts herself off and her face goes white...

Tur slides forward onto the edge of the couch and leans forward, intrigued by her story, "And?"

"...Trevor never got an anti-virus shot... We keep all the vaccines on Class 6, so it isn't like he could have gotten one anywhere else. The only anti-virus we don't have is one for the T-Dragon. So that means, if he was the one transporting the agent when it escaped, surely he would have needed a shot as well!"

"So... What? Martin's infected? Is that what you're telling us?" Tidus looks puzzled

"No... I think she's telling us just the opposite..." Tur rubs his forehead, "Perhaps that is when the Trio infected the Village... Promising anti-virus shots, but infecting them instead. Martin never got a shot himself because a viral agent never escaped. It was just another Trio lie..."

"But no one became symptomatic until the twenty-fourth... That's five days after that incident... Surely you don't think it took that long for the infection to run it's course through their bodies?"

"Karter says that he infected the Village with the T-Dragon Virus, so how exactly does it work?" Tur is trying to put pieces together

"Kris, Trent, and Trevor never disclosed much on the T-Dragon virus. I just saw a few test subjects after infection... I never knew much on it's specifics... Kris was very particular about keeping his creation to Class 7 and the higher-ups of Umbrella... I mean, it was the first original Weapon to come out of the Village. So I never questioned him on it... But a delayed action virus would be devistating... You could infect one person without them even knowing it and send them out into a crowd of people several days later, and--"

"Infect an entire Village..." Tur finishes

"But then why did the others change so quickly?" Tidus questions

"Some muatated almost instantly after being bit... In the Center, I saw someone rise before they even fell to the floor... but then I've also watched as someone didn't rise again for several hours... But that's still shorter then five days... Maybe direct injection has a longer incubation time then transfer from an infected subject. So that's why Kris was so proud of this virus... A strong mutagen that could act as a Sleeper Agent... And he tested it on us. Damn you Kris... Was your virus more important then your companions?"

Anne buries her head in her hands and shaking her head viciously. Stacy comforts her, and both men don't want to say anything else for the time being. Tidus rises from his position and now takes his turn at the Item Box. He fiddles with the laptop for a while and copies down what he finds. It's some sort of code, but for what Tidus does not know. Tidus places the laptop back into the Item Box and then finds the Puzzle Box. He plays around with it for a few seconds, before realizing that the Yellow gemstone looks like it would fit into the indentations of the box. He places it in the hole labeled '1' and it fits, but Tidus pulls it back out and tries the other holes as well... Unfortunatly, the gem fits every hole, so Tidus has no clue as to which one to place it in... Shruging, Tidus sneaks the Puzzle box and yellow gem into Room 001 and the safe, where he stores it away in his compartment. Back in the main room, Tidus picks the Bar Office Key out of the Item Box before heading back to the others. Anne seems to have calmed down, so Tidus begins to talk once more.

"There might be even more people joining us soon... Unless they're dead. Oh, and if this guy who goes by the name of AZ asks you anything don't give him any info. He's a bastard, so don't even follow him. He has already lead a few other people to their deaths... So whatever you do, don't... listen... to... AZ. Okay? If he yells at you, kick or something, and if he is too nice to you kick him harder. Hell, if he just plain looks at you for more than two seconds, make him bleed. Don't trust him, okay?"

Tidus smiles after his rant and then makes his way over to the Room 002 door, checking his weapon out carefully, feeling good that he made his point. While Tidus is by the door, Tur leans over an whispers to Anne and Stacy.

"Don't listen to Tidus when it comes to AZ. They seem to be having some kind of feud going on. Tidus has even tried to kill AZ since we've been here in the Village. I wouldn't even by surprised if they ended up killing each other before our time here is through. But from the time I've spent with AZ, he's a good guy... I'd be more wary around Tidus then anyone else. Just a heads up." Tur leans back and rises to his feet. Anne and Stacy nod at Tur as he goes over to the Room 002 door with Tidus. Seeing Tur come over prompts Tidus to unlock the door, and turn back towards the girls.

"Anne, Stacy, there could be anything in this room, so I want you two to hide behind me just in case something comes out of there." He says with a prideful boast

"Exactly. Stand back," Tur agrees with Tidus. "We’ve got this."

Tidus knocks on the door twice before opening it and entering, weapon raised for anything that may pop out. Tur does the same with his Edge, tracing the contours of the room. The small room is clear of anything harmful, so the two men lower their weapons. This room is the go between for the Inn and the Village Idiot, as the occupier of this room would have direct access to the bar at all times. The door to the bar is set into the opposite wall and it seems to be locked from the inside, but it could also be locked from the other side as well. Smaller then the upstairs rooms, this room only has a #bed# and a small dresser inside of it. On top of the dresser is a #note# with a rosary on top of it. A religous person in the bar room? How... Ironic. Otherwise this room is bare. Unusually bare. Tur and Tidus jump though as they hear a noise from beyond the door inside the bar. They both raise their weapons instinctively and look at each other.

"Evan could still be alive..." Tidus whispers

"Either way he's a threat to us. Dead he's going to be a zombie, but alive he's going to shoot at us. He warned us to stay away from the bar already..." Tur whispers as well

The sound of shattering glass causes them to jump again. No matter what, going into the bar is going to be difficult... But Tidus and Tur know that it has to be done... The question now is... how?

Warehouse- After the PA systems dies down, those in the Warehouse are left in a stunned silence. GSMY seems paticularly disturbed, as if he was wrestling with some sort of inner demon... Almost by an unspoken order though, everyone begins to search through the room at once, but no one dares to break the silence that is binding them. Everyone was deep in though, conscience's weighing in one some, while others just tried to make some sort of sense of their situation. AZ leads CC over to a chair and takes two green herbs from his pocket and crushes them up, removing the unnecessary seeds and stems. He then places the herb powder onto CC's legs, and rubs it deep into her wounds. CC winces once, but then settles back as the herbs begin to take effect, absorbing into her wound and bloodstream, healing her almost instantly. She still isn't one hundred percent, but she is infinitely better then before. She thanks AZ, breaking the silence of the room...

"Thank you... I thought for certain that I was going to die back there... First the spider, then NES..." She stops herself

"No one else is going to die if I have anything to say about it... No more pain. No more suffering..." AZ forces a smile, and CC does the same "Those herbs should help a bit with the pain, so just sit here and relax for a few. Oh, and would you hold onto this for me?"

AZ extends her $500, and she takes it from him before leaning back into the chair for a short break. "Sure, no problem."

lj is at the file cabinet and slides open the first drawer. Office papers, Logs, nothing. Second cabinet is more of the same. Bottom cabinet is just like the- Wait... There is a #sheet of paper# stuffed into the back of this bottom cabinet. lj can just read the title "Forest Experiment." Thinking it's a bit out of place, lj pockets it for the moment. At the portrait in the back room, AZ finds the bronze emblem a tad out of place and lifts it from the picture. Just like he thought, it came out freely, and was the same size as the Fire Emblem he had found earlier. AZ pockets the #Light Emblem# because he is sure that it will come in handy later on. At the desk, GSMY opens the drawer to find a #Duralumin Briefcase#. The side of the briefcase reads T. Wilder... Stolen? Or hidden? Either way, it was now GSMY's. The combination to the case was set to 000, and lo and behold, that was the actual combination as the inner locks were already open. Just the outer clasps held it closed. Happy and frustrated at his situation at the same time, GSMY exits the Office after making sure the room held nothing else of use. The others soon followed and then again congregated in the web filled room. GSMY headed over to where the axe had fallen and picked it up, handing it to CC.

"CC I think you should take the Axe. Your dagger can only protect you for so long." GSMY smiles

"Thank you... You've all been too kind." CC says while still standing unsteadily on her feet.

AZ steps forward and takes charge once again. "Well... Next stop the farm? Or would you guys like to regroup at the Inn for a short while? I recommend we press on. The infestation is only going to grow, making travel more difficult. If the farm is too bad, we can always just run to the Inn because they are relatively close... What do you all think?"

"Let's go."

"Might as well."

"I'm game."

Everyone agrees, and they pause for a moment to give NES his final respects. Then, AZ helps CC get on a steady footing before they all leave the Warehouse, stepping over the two corpses at the door. Traveling the short distance to the farm is uneventful, although literally dozens of zombies are beginning to make their way towards each other, as if they were grouping up... When they get to the Farm House, they see a he can see the #thin wooden door#. Almost instantly, a loud growling starts up and the door begin to bow out from the force of whatever is inside. The researchers stop a few hundred feet from the door and pause. That house was definitely dangerous, but what about the Farm itself? The group halted for a moment and AZ turned to the others.

"House or Farm? Or Inn? What do you guys think we should do?" He questions

Right Tower- Nate finally lowers his crossbow as the PA system cuts out... The start of the announcement had been a shock to him, but the announcement itself was much, much worse. Nate was not happy with what he heard... Not happy at all. If it was possible, Nate thought that the Trio had gotten even crazier since the last time they heard from them. Nate composes himself and presses the glowing button, washing the room in a bright white light, and also turning on several machines at the same time. In the new found light, the three men see that there are in fact four tanks in the center of the room, filled with creatures that look similar to those that they fought earlier. But they are different looking somehow...

"Gammas." Natus says, "I thought they were a failed experiment."

"I don't care what they are as long as they stay in those tanks." MF jests

Behind the tanks is a control panal that turned on with the lights, with two blinking #buttons#: One Green, and One Red. To the left of the tanks is a long research table with scattered papers on it, as well as a #handgun clip#. To the right of the tanks is a stack of #cardboard boxes# that seem to be for storage. This was in fact a storage room, for just about everything. Boxes, Papers, BOWs... Natus walks over to the papers on the desk to see that they have to do with old orders that came into the Village, which makes sense considering the purpose of the Right Tower. Nate takes this moment to check out the burnt paper before discarding it.

File #35- Burnt Paper

What a relief. I've finally got a day off. Our luck is picking up. This is great! Would you like to go to the Pub with me?

[Scratched down at the bottom, barely legible from the flames]

Shawn, Find the hidden numbers to open the box.
</file>

Nate copies this into his notbook and drops the paper, trying to make sense of the note. Hidden numbers? Um... Okay. MF comes over and tries to make sense of it as well, but it isn't coming to him at the moment. Natus tries his luck as well, but can't see it just yet.

"I don't know what it means, but apparently this is going to open MF's box for us..." Nate sighs

"Well here guys, check this out." MF says as he opens the manilla folder to find a single sheet of paper stapled to the back of the folder.

File #36- Manilla Folder

To: Right Tower, Left Tower, Warehouse, and Prison Managers
Subject: Prison Changeover

As of today, we will be transfering the Fire and Shadow Wings of the Prison into BOW storage and experiment areas, which will become off limits to anyone without a Class Five or higher Research clearence. Any shipment request to those wings of the Prison will have to be placed in the care of a Class Five or higher research as well. "So that's what the prison is for..." Nate mumbles, "But they kept everyone but the managers in the dark about what was going on there..."

"It's a bit odd to say the least." Natus agrees

"We'll have to tell the others about this later, but for now we should clear this room and get out of here." MF states

Nate nods, "Agreed."

Nate takes a step forward, but stops as he catches movement out of the corner of his eye. Did one of those Hunters just... move?

*I walk over to the dresser.*

On top of the dresser is a #note# with a rosary on top of it. A religious person in the bar room? How... Ironic.

*I grab the note and read it. I also take the rosary and perform the prayers.*

*I walk over to the bed and examine it.*

"Tur let's stay in this Inn a little longer, until my wounds stop throbbing at least."

*I walk out of the room and sit next to Anne.*

"Where do you think we should go after we check out the bar?"

"What the hell is that, behind that door?" GSMY yelled.

Lloyd tried to convice everyone to go back to the Inn, telling them that it would be wise to drop off stuff and regroup.

If they agree with Lloyd. The group walks to the Inn and discovers the girls. Lloyd will raise his gun and ask questions, finding out who they are and that Tur and Tidus are in Room 002. Then he'll drop off the bolt cutters, Poem and Shovel. Loads his gun with 5 more rounds.

Nate warns his companions of the movement he thought he glimpsed within the glass jar. Keeping his eyes fixed on the glass containers, he walks over to the cardboard boxes and begins to go through them. While he checks them out, he keeps looking over his shoulder at the tanks, trying to catch another glimpse of movement.

~If we're not attacked before I finish checking the boxes~
*Give handgun clip to MF (duh!).
* Check out the computer panel with the buttons.

~If attacked~

Cautiously walking in, I gladly accept the handgun clip from Nate. Checking out the boxes with Nate, I mention, "I don't think I really need this folder anymore. Obviously this Shadow Emblem of mine must be used in the prison, which means there must be other emblems floating around this place. Unfortunately, I have no idea what those 'hidden numbers' are for this box...."

I leave the manilla folder on the pile of boxes, and examine the tanks containing more BOWs. "As long as you stay in there...."

(YAY! FF's back! I thought your Air Force buddies blew you up or something ;-) )

Natus was staring at the tanks, thouroughly confused. The Gamma strain was one of the worst financial disasters ever - costing Umbrella nearly 12 Million. Surely the Trio knew that, why in the hell would they make more?

One of them twitched.

Natus felt his heart skip a beat... but soon relaxed - they should remain unconcious until having the Amniotic Water drained out of the tank...

Yeah, but the last time you relied on what you know...

Natus suddenly felt very uncomfortable... Hunter Gammas were very easy to kill, but two might just be able to overwhelm him... Natus made for the door, and motioned for the others to follow...

"Ah.. that's better."

Gah…the PA cut out, and Tidus and I were left in stunned silence. Tidus was grinning about…something. I was about to ask what, when he apparently read my mind.

"...What. The. ****? This **** gets better every minute! Heh heh. Oh man... I love this... Anyway Tur, I'll see you, good luck. By the way, you might need this more. It seems to be a special handgun clip. It holds 18 shots instead of 15, so don't throw this away."

Dur. No kidding. But I was grateful for the extra bullets. "Thanks, Tidus!"

As Tidus made his departure, he was attacked by a skitter-critter (what I dubbed them) from an air duct. His shoulder took a nasty hit, and poor Tidus dropped his weapon.

“****!!” I yelled, shooting once up at it. It squealed, so I guess I hit it. Good. And it left. Better. Tidus reclaimed his shotty and covered his injury.

Was that a tear in his eye? He turned away…ashamed? No reason to be. Tidus booked. I continued to train ole Sam on the duct. This wasn’t good. At all.

"Ugh. I'm getting really tired of the place... Just let one of the Trio get within firing range. Better yet, just let them get in Stabby Range..."

I considered searching the house on my own, but I was carrying too much crap, and I didn’t look forward to fighting the skitter-critters on my own. And Evan’s daughter was there, according to Tidus.

It was time for a pit stop.

And there was one now! I’m going already, ya god damn monster! Jeez!

Crap, Tidus must’ve been hurt worse than I thought. He was kneeling, holding the wound. And there were zombies all about. That sucked. I couldn’t just leave him there. So I put Sam away, and helped Tidus along, back to our haven, the Inn.

We made it inside. I sat and caught my breath, noticing no one else was here. Had Tidus BS’d me? I frowned, and was about to ask this, but again did not get the chance. A bespectacled brunette that looked about a half generation or so older than myself walked into view. And right behind her was Stacy Jones, alive and well after all.

Well, I’ll be damned. Small miracles even in this hellhole did exist.

The woman inspects Tidus wound, acting…well, less than concerned about him.

"Now what did you go and do now? Long, slashing wound. Not too deep, but the length of the shoulder. If I had to guess, I'd say... Chimera."

Tidus and I gave each other a mutual shrug. Meh. But…Chimera was the name of the skitter-critter, huh?

"Chimera. Kind of looks like a large fly and arachnid hybrid. Scythes for arms. Little wings. Play hide-and-seek with their prey. Any of this make sense?"

Kinda rude, aren’t we?

"Stacy, Anne, you two alright?" Tidus asked.

Anne speaks again. Stacy hasn’t said a word. "I found a MA-120 in the upstairs hallway. How it got here I have no idea."

"It was the Inn Keeper... Charlie Green." Tidus told her.

I was keeping quiet for now, absorbing the info.

"What? That's not possible... Unless..."

I finally speak. "Unless what?"

"It's nothing... And who might you be?"

I frowned. My dealings with Seymour made me all the more suspicious whenever anyone said ‘it’s nothing.’ Whatever. Secretive bastards. Was I the only one that had been completely up front with everyone here?

Nevertheless, I could answer her, unlike she to me. "I go by Turducken, or Tur for short. You must be Anne. Tidus has told me so much about you... About how much he thinks you are a b--" I grin as I say the last part.

Tidus quickly cuts me off. "About how great of a person you are!!"

Heh.

I next turn my attention to Stacy. "And Stacy Jones... Jesus, you’re alive. Look, I know you don’t know me, but your father asked me to make sure his family was safe.

Turducken?" Anne sneered.

That took me off guard. What the hell?! So many people have taken a hostile reaction to me just doing what I think is right. What was her problem?!

As I’m flabbergasted, Tidus jumps in. "Did you guys hear that announcement? Anne, as you can see, Karter doesn't care about our lives. So will you believe me now?"

"I... He wasn't... Kris is still my boss and a good friend, and I still think I could reason with him if I could just get to him..."

I would’ve laughed out loud if that statement wasn’t so suicidal. "What?! I mean, did you not hear those three? They want us ALL dead. Yourselves included."

Maybe she was just as kooky as the Trio, minus the evil.

"I have ears. I heard what he said.”

Did you…?

“I just think I could get through to him.”

Fat chance, lady.

“I've been here since the beginning... We have a certain professional connection. The only person I had a better connection with was with Mark... but I haven't heard from him in too long... I doubt he's alive...”

Yeah…

“But that would mean Kris killed him, right? And everyone else too...? And then he's going to kill us... just so he can escape? I want him to pay for what he's done to me, and to everyone else here. He can't do this to everyone who put their faith in him... He infected the Village, and is now going to leave like nothing ever happened? Forget negotiations and niceties, if he wants a fight... Then that's what he's going to get. All three of them... Will be dead before I am."

Well, that was a pleasant turnaround! Glad she knows what has to be done now!

I went to the item box. I’ll be making a deposit, Mr. Box. Just a box. I dumped some stuff, and read the file. Weird, and a second copy under it. Very weird. Something is different about he copy, though. Couldn’t tell what, just yet.

I switched Sam’s clip. He was hungry! So I fed my friend and went over to the two babbling humans.

"So... Anne, it doesn't look like we'll be leaving this Inn for a while, so why don't you tell me everything about this village? Might as well keep ourselves occupied, and get me informed on the going ons in this village that led up to this Second Judgement. Oh and please refrain from any sarcasm, I'm not really having a good time.

While I opposed Human Testing vehemently, I have seen the effects of the viruses on humans before, so I know how to approach these BOWs properly."

I rolled my eyes.

"But yeah... I'm sorry... I guess my research is one of the reasons for the situation we're in... As for the Second Judgment... I'm not even sure how it started... There was an announcement in the lab on the nineteenth that a minor viral agent had escaped into a section of Class 5 when Trevor was transporting it, so Trent and Kris called five of the researchers down to Class 6 to get anti-virus shots for safety and--"

Not so fast. "And?"

Unless it wasn’t an ANTI-virus…but the actual one itself!

"So... What? Martin's infected? Is that what you're telling us?" Tidus asked.

As nice as that would have been, it was not the case, and I explained. "No... I think she's telling us just the opposite... Perhaps that is when the Trio infected the Village...

"Karter says that he infected the Village with the T-Dragon Virus, so how exactly does it work?" I wondered.

You could infect one person without them even knowing it and send them out into a crowd of people several days later, and..”

"Infect an entire Village..." I gasped.

"But then why did the others change so quickly?" Tidus questions

"Some mutated almost instantly after being bit...

Anne was overcome, but Stacy comforted her. I looked away. Part of me hated this woman. She seemed to have willingly taken part in the viral experiments, but I decided to give her a chance to redeem herself. I still didn’t know the whole story.

Tidus left and did some junk. I ignored this. I just sat, thinking about things for a bit. Were the others okay? Where were they? When would I get a shot at Martin? And the others? Would the Judge appear again soon?

Tidus’ words cut my thoughts to shreds.

That got a sigh out of me. He was trying to sabotage AZ again. He certainly never forced anyone to follow him. Everyone just did what they thought was best.

After Tidus walked off, I decided to clear up that misinformation. Just a heads up."

I then walked over to Room 002. Tidus unlocked it.

"Anne, Stacy, there could be anything in this room, so I want you two to hide behind me just in case something comes out of there." Tidus told them.

I nodded. "Exactly. Stand back. We’ve got this."

So we went in, guns poised for blastin’. But there was naught to blast. Nice change.

I watch Tidus scavenge the room, more concerned with the noises I was hearing from the bar. Was it somehow possible Evan was alive, still?

Tidus echoed this. "Evan could still be alive..."

"Either way he's a threat to us.” I muttered. “Dead he's going to be a zombie, but alive he's going to shoot at us. He warned us to stay away from the bar already..."

But I thought. He wouldn’t shoot his daughter. If there was only some way I could get a hold of a F. Aid Spray soon, maybe I could still…

"Tur let's stay in this Inn a little longer, until my wounds stop throbbing at least." Tidus suggested.

“But there might still be a chance to save Evan!” I cried out. “We just need a F. Aid Spray! I don’t have one…does anyone else?!”

They didn’t, and I had no idea where the others were, or if they had one. Natus, MF, and Nate were at the towers, but I didn’t think they had one, either. I’d just dropped that stuff in the box…

“Since you’re hurt, Tidus, you should definitely rest up here. Stacy, you’ve got to go to that door and keep your dad talking! I’m going to go back to the house Tidus and I just came from. There may be a Spray somewhere inside there. The Tower group doesn’t have one as far as I know, and I can’t reach them now, anyway. I don’t know where the rest are, or if they have one. Stacy, your dad’s only chance is if that house has one, I think. Keep him talking and coherent till I get back. I’ll do what I can to save him. I swear it.”

I put Sam at Burst Mode for when I met those…Chimeras, again. “Tidus, just rest up here, make sure Anne and Stacy stay okay. I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

[Status]: Okay
[Equipped]: Sam (18/18; Single), Mr. Stabby(Def. Item)
[Items (3/8)]: Starter Kit [Encrypted Note], Mr. Shocky (Dead Battery), Clip(11/18)

THE GAMEPLAN
-Say my goodbyes to anyone else that comes into the Inn before I leave.
-Head back to the house Tidus and I just left, in ninja stealth mode again.
-Tear the house apart in search of a F. Aid Spray, killing all the Chimeras that I run across as carefully as I can (burst shots, well-timed Stabby-ings, cover, etc.)
-Take EVERYTHING in the house of relevance (making sure one of those is said spray if the house has one)
-Return to Inn, have Stacy convince Evan to let us in the bar so I can heal him (assuming I find a spray) and use it on him.

[Yes, I am trying to go to the house, raid it, and be back at the Inn all within a single update.]

“Tidus, just rest up here, make sure Anne and Stacy stay okay. I’ll be back as soon as I can.

And with that, Tur left.

"Well, I'm gonna lay down you guys can entertain yourselves. My wounds are hurting...Anne...are those, chimeras venomes? I hope not. Will I be alright? I hope so. Where do you two think we should go next? I think that the graveyard or church basement should be next. Do you know what's down there? I hope the judge doesn't attack us. That will really suck. By the way, did I mention not to listen to AZ? AZ is crazy. If you follow him you might end up dead. I'm sure someone has died already. I bet at least one guy in his group is dead. If it's true it's no doubt because of AZ. I have a confession to make...I tried to blow AZ's head off...are you two afraid of me now? I hope not, but you probably are, I don't blame you. I did it for the good of the team though. Ever since I tried to kill him, I've felt like the others have been calling me crazy behind my back...they probably have. I never did give them a good explanation as to why I did it in the first place. I feel like everyone wants me dead...I only had one good friend here, his name was Key. He's the reason I have this shotgun. To repay him I told him I'd watch his back. I was willing to fullfill that promise but, I thought it would be good to stay with different groups for a little while...then maybe the next time we saw each other we could put together everything we found and maybe have enough to go out and explore more...but then he died! That trio! They sent th-that thing after us, and the first one he killed was my only friend here...I will kill that thing, whatever it is, for key, and for everyone here. Except for AZ. That bastard has pissed me off one too many times. He deserves pain for being a jackass. I don't say he deserves death but he definately deserves pain. If he comes back to this Inn, and there is one person in his group dead I will not help that guy at all. If he let someone in his group die, I will do my best to make sure he does not leave this village! Anne Stacy, do me a favor, don't listen to AZ. Trust me on this, have I shown any hostility towards you in the short time that we've known each other? I have done nothing but try to help you. I'll do my best to protect you two...the others will try to convince you to not trust me, that's because Key died and I wasn't there for him. Whatever...make your own decision, you can either listen to me being serious for the first time I've been here, or you can listen to AZ, the guy that might get you killed. Maybe he isn't such a bad guy...The others must follow him for a reason...maybe it's because he tricks them into trusting them...he'll no doubt do the same to you. He has many people, on his side, so many people dislike me. Some of them have told me I'm not resourceful...in other words I'm useless. What am I gonna do? I have no idea as to what I'm gonna do next...all I've been doing so far is running around from place to place without a plan. All I've been doing is collecting info and ammo for this shotgun that isn't even mine to begin with. It's Key's, the guy that helped me get it in return for, my protection...then I stood here, in this inn, and later before finding you two, I found his dead body. He was filled with holes...like swiss cheese... What am I saying!? I'm fine on my own!"

*I quickly get up and walk around the room*

Farm House- The unnatural growls still leak through the thin wooden door, and the door doesn't seem to be holding up all too well. Instinctively after everything they've been through thus far, everyone raises what weapon they have in an attempt to feel just a little bit safer about their predicament.

"What the hell is that, behind that door?" GSMY yelled.

"I don't know." AZ admitted, "And to be honest, I don't really want to find out..."

"You know, this place doesn't give off the best aura... How about we head back to the Inn for a little while... We could drop off our excess baggage, regroup, rest a bit. The sun is high in the sky, so I'm guessing it's about noon or a little after. We've been out here all morning and it's been a stressful run... The battle with the Judge, the explosion at the Marketplace... NES' Death... We should take a short break so we don't get too stressed out and walk into a battle that we aren't prepared for." GSMY lays his plan out on the table, as the growls and barks continue to get louder... and more fierce.

"Yeah... Whatever is in there can wait until we're better equipped. I know that I need to drop off a few things." AZ confirms

"That's not such a bad idea at all GSMY. Good thinking." lj smiles, "Is that alright with you CC?"

CC just stands there, a distant look in her eyes. "Thirsty..."

GSMY takes a few steps over to CC and places his hand on her forehead. "She doesn't have a fever... But her skin is clammy..."

"She looks out of it." TJ says with more then a hint of concern in his voice

"Warm... So... Thirsty..." CC reiterates

"Yeah, we should definately get back to the Inn..." AZ reholsters his weapon and takes on of CC's arms, "GSMY help me with her."

GSMY takes the other arm of CC and the two men have to basically lead her along. The growls pick up to a feverish pace and there is a loud crash on the wooden door. It cracks, but does not give, and a painful yelp is heard as the growls stop for just a moment. lj ushers the others in front of him as he takes the back of the group in order to protect them if those beasts were to burst through the door. The group makes their way to the Inn, with lj having to crowbar a zombie that got too close for comfort. At the double doors to the Inn, the group pauses for just a moment on the charred earth, as they hear voices inside through a crack in the unclosed doors. Unfamiliar voices...

"There are people in there..." AZ states the obvious, "We should be careful..."

GSMY trades places with lj and brings his assault rifle up to a firing position. He gives a glance back to the crew that have been his compatriots throughout this whole ordeal, before poking the muzzle of his gun through the crack in the door... Entering ever so slowly...

The Inn- Tur and Tidus stand alone in Room 002, the room in the Inn that connects to the bar. Tur is still reeling from the information that Anne had relayed to him about how exactly the Village was infected. It was a premeditated attack by the Trio on the Village. They had been planning this. It was no accident. Not only did they deliberately infect the Village, but they brought the 15 researchers here, Tur included, simply to use them as test subjects. That meant that Karter and the rest of the Trio's plan to leave Umbrella had been in the work for some time. But...

"Their first announcement..." Tur whispers, and Tidus turns back to look at him.

"What was that?" Tidus only half looks at Tur now as he picks up the rosary on the dresser

"The Trio's first announcement." Tur says again, "They specifically called what happened here 'an accident.' But everything else we've found suggests that what they've done was done with malicious intent."

"But you have to consider this. They spoke of 'an accident.' But their accident, and what we consider to be "the" accident could be two entirely different things."

Tur is actually stunned for a moment. Tidus not only made a point, but a pretty damn good one. "So... They said that 'If it wasn't for the accident, none of this would have happened...' and that 'if the accident hadn't happened, they would have never finished The Judge.'"

Tur pauses for a moment and rubs his chin. "We just assumed that Karter was talking about the Village being infected. But we know that that can't be true now... What if the accident he was refering to was something like, their escape transport malfunctioning? That would make perfect sense. They wouldn't have infected the Village without a secure way out. If they were forced to stay here because of an accident on their end, they would have had to call out to their 'new organization' for a way out."

"And since they were forced to stay here longer then they had expected..." Tidus starts

"...They got the extra time they needed to finish the Judge. With the way they talked about the Judge when it was completed, there was no way it would have survived transport away from the Village. Their small misfortune has turned into our major nightmare." Tur finishes

"But why would Karter use ALL of his T-Dragon Virus to infect the Village, and not keep enough to finish the Judge?"

"I don't know Tidus. Maybe he thought he had more time then he actually did. Maybe he had some waiting on the outside. For all we know, Karter has already shipped a boatload of his virus to his new organiztion. But that's not our problem right now. We just have to stop those inhuman fools and get out of here."

"But this all still doesn't explain the Omega Strain that Karter was babbling about."

"Like I said... Not our concern right now... But everything is starting to come together. We know a lot more then we did yesterday... Although I do want to find out exactly what went down here, there's no use in trying to find answers when we don't even know what questions we should be asking."

"Yeah... This isn't exactly the best place to do heavy thinking, you know? With all the walking corpses and other not so friendly creatures around here, right?" Tidus grins as he pats his shoulder, but Tur does not return the smile.

"Yeah... Whatever." Tur sighs inwardly, his mind trying to process a thousand thoughts all at once. Although he would like to take his own advice and not think about it, the feeling of ignorance gnaws at his consciousness, and forces him to continue piecing things together. He wasn't even sure his assumption was true. Karter had also made it quite clear that he needed combat data on his BOWs, which would suggest that he had MEANT to stay in the Village for a while after it's infection. So perhaps the accident he refered to wasn't the infection of the Village OR the breakdown of his escape... But he definitely mentioned some sort of accident. Why was that bastard so enigmatic, so ambiguous, and so evil?

As Tur sits down on the bed and thinks, Tidus rolls the rosary around in his fingers and prays. For himself, for those that have died, and for a way out of this hell hole. He places the rosary back on the dresser and then picks up the note that was under it. It was written in a neat handwriting, almost as if it were written with great detail.

File #37- Rosary Note

I've never seen such an unholy sight. Never in all of my life. And in a holy place of all things! You see, Dr. Karter had quarantined off the basement of the Church, saying that it had flooded during one of the rains, and that it had become unsafe. He wouldn't allow anyone to go down there, even weeks after the supposed flood. He changed the lock and kept the only key to himself. After that the Church started to become hot... Extremely hot... Like hell itself was crawling up from confines of our basement. Well, one day when Dr. Karter came to worship, I... I stole the key from his belt and hid it in the altar. It is a sin to steal, I know, but I was afraid that there were demons lurking in our most holy sanctuary. It was for the greater good, I assure you! Anyway, I stored then key away in the sacred cabinet that has no lock. I'm the only one who can open that cabinet anyway, so it was the safest place to put it. The lock on the cabinet only opens for high pitched sounds, and I don't believe Dr. Karter nor anyone else in our Village has the ability to produce the right frequency to jar the lock. The value of the artifacts in that cabinet is just too great to trust to any other kind of lock. Anyway, after everyone had gone home for the night last week, I locked the main doors, and retrieved the key from the cabinet, and went down into the basement. I thought it was hot in the main church... It was almost unbearable going down those stairs... But that all paled in comparison to the evil I laid eyes on at the base of those cement steps... Now, I know this is going to sound unbelievable, but you must believe me for I swear on the good book itself that I am giving you the truth Charlie... There was a lizard in that basement the size of a large van. I swear it! The basement is ten feet from bottom to top, and that beast filled up at least three quarters of it... And it was no ordinary lizard either! It had wings, and stood on it's hind legs... It was truly a frightening sight... The entire basement was covered in blood, and it seemed to be charred in places...

And I soon found out why, and found out the source of the Church's unnatural warmth... When that fiend spotted me, it let out a deafening roar and then spit fire at me! I had no choice but to flee for my life! I could feel the flames licking at my heels as I scrambled up the stairs. I could hardly believe that I had actually experienced such a thing! A hell spawned demon right in my very Chrurch! Defying God and all that the Church stands for! And I might be crazy, but I could have sworn that it was guarding something in the back of the basement, as it did not persue me even one step. Not a single step. And Dr. Karter had been protecting it; He went down into the basement nearly every day to "assess the damage" down there from the "flood" that took place. I fear that Dr. Karter has made a pact with the devil Charlie. He must have known that I went down there too because yesterday he came into the Church and demanded that I hand over my whistle, so I can no longer get into the cabinet to retrieve the key... This is a dark time indeed... I believe that the gates of hell are going to spring open at any moment... Our beautiful Village has been tainted by Lucifer himself. I wouldn't be surprised if the Apocalypse came and the dead walked the Earth some time soon... May the Good Lord have mercy on our Souls...

I know that this is all too much to believe, but if you take anything from this Charlie... Don't trust Dr. Karter... It will lead to your death...

~Reverend Cory Blische

Tidus looks up from the note and simply blinks. Twice. His mind simply incapable of comprehending the words on that paper. He looks over at Tur who is still deep in thought on the bed. Tidus walks over to Tur and also sits on the bed, still holding the note. Without so much as a word, Tidus hands Tur the paper and sits on the bed as well. But he quickly jumps up as his feet knock against something under the bed. As Tur reads the note quickly, Tidus holds his shotgun and drops to floor, checking the bed. Underneath he finds a #gas mask#. Tidus pulls it up and holds it up to the light. It is fairly clean, but well used... Tidus can't help but shudder as he looks at it. Just then Tur finishes reading the note... and he simply blinks. He hands the note back to Tidus and both of them stand up and move away from the bed. Tidus shoves the note in his pocket and straps the gas mask around one of his belt loops... You never know when you might need a gas mask.

"If I were to have read that note in any other place BUT the Village, I would have just assumed that that guy was drunk or crazy..." Tur sighs, "But in this place, I don't know what is real anymore."

"Yeah, but I don't know of any eight foot lizards that have wings and breath fire." Tidus sneers

"Yeah, and I don't know of any spidery-buggy skitter critters either, but one took a chunk out of your shoulder, now didn't it?" Tur snaps back leaving Tidus in a stunned silence for just a moment

"Speaking of which, let's stay in this Inn a little longer. You know, until my wounds stop throbbing at least."

There is another noise in the bar, and Tur shakes his head violently at Tidus' statement. After his conversation with Anne, Tur knows that the time frame for complete infection is sporadic. Evan could still be alive...

"But there might still be a chance to save Evan!" Tur cries out, "We just need a F. Aid Spray! I don’t have one... does anyone else?!"

"I don't." Tidus states almost matter-of-factly

Tur storms out of Room 002 and Tidus is right behind him. Stacy and Anne quickly turn to them as the enter back into the main room of the Inn.

"Find anything useful in there?" Anne's face is drawn tight, still upset from her most recent revalation

"Just that the Church is really ****ed up." Tidus grins

"And that we can still save Evan if we hurry." Tur pushes Tidus back as he tries to step in front of him. Tur quickly turns to him and places his hands on Tidus' shoulder, specifically placing more pressure on Tidus' wound to make him wince. "Since you’re hurt, Tidus, you should definitely rest up here."

Tidus pulls away from Tur and rubs his shoulder. Tur smiles inwardly and turns back to the girls. "Stacy, you’ve got to go to that door and keep your dad talking! I swear it."

Stacy scoots forward from her seat on the couch and smiles brightly. "Do you really think that we can still save him? That would be the best thing I've heard all day!"

"As far as I know, First-Aid Sprays neutralize any second hand infections before they become full blown. And since your father was bit by Jim--" Tur cuts himself off a bit too late, as he sees the grimmace form on Stacy's face, "I'm sorry..."

"No... It's alright... Just please save my father. He's all I have left..." She whimpers and it is evident that she has been through a lot in the past week

"You have my word that I'll tear that house apart looking for a first aid spray... Or die trying." Tur checks his Edge and flicks it into burst mode, "Tidus, just rest up here and make sure Anne and Stacy stay okay. I’ll be back as soon as I can."

"Good luck Tur." Stacy beams at him

"You'll need it against Chimeras." Anne reminds, "You'll be lucky if--"

Anne is cut off as the Inn door creeks open and GSMY steps through brandishing an assault rifle. In pure reflex movements, Tidus and Tur both spin and raise their weapons before they bother to look at who exactly it was entering the Inn. After a tense few seconds, all three men lower their weapons and GSMY beckons to the others to come into the Inn. AZ and lj enter next, practically holding up a shaky CC. She seems to be barely holding onto consciousness, and her gaze scans everything and nothing at the same time. TJ brings up the rear of the group and closes the door to the Inn. Confused glances are exchanged all around as AZ and lj sit CC up on one of the several couches in the room.

"Wow, she doesn't look so good..." Tidus speaks first

"I think she may be infected." AZ admits, "She took a nasty bite from... a zombie... Her symptoms just started up without warning..."

"She's definitely infected." Anne says without hesitation, "I can tell just by looking at her face. The cold sweat, the disillusioned gaze."

"Thirsty..." CC croaks out

"The unquenchable thirst." Anne continues

"And just who are you two?" GSMY steps forward towards Anne and Stacy

"My name is Stacy Jones... My father owns and runs the pub."

"Oh, wow... That's awesome." GSMY smiles, "We were all hoping you were alive and well. And how about yourself?"

"Anne. Anne Jenson. I was a Researcher at the Center. Class Six."

"She's cool though. She knows that the Trio is messed up. She even filled us in about how exactly the Village got infected. The Trio deliberately infected some of their researchers. Apparently the T-Dragon has some sort of time delay release feature or something." Tidus informs the others

Tur counts the number of people in the his head. "Hey... Wasn't NES with you guys?"

AZ, GSMY, and lj exchange looks. lj finally addresses the question, "He didn't make it."

Tidus leans over and talks into Anne's ear. "I told you AZ was the walking kiss of death."

"I heard that Tidus." AZ snaps back, "There was nothing I could do, alright? We were surrounded by-- Why do I have to explain myself to you? My crew knows it wasn't my fault."

"Oh I'm sure." Tidus sneers

"My, my, my. The animosity just seeps from you two." Anne chuckles

"Please stop fighting." Stacy says almost too quietly

Stacy's words jar Tur back into action. "Sorry guys. It's great to see that your all alive, but I have to find a first aid spray. I'll be back..."

"For CC?" lj says hopefully

"Ah... Uh... Well..." Tur stummbles, "For Evan actually. But hopefully I'll be able to find another one for her as well."

Tur shakes hands with everyone and gives Stacy a quick, reassuring hug before exiting through the double doors of the Inn... His destination the Chimera riddled House 300. AZ heads over to the Item Box and reads all of the files that he has missed since the last time he checked, before dropping off a few things into the box. GSMY comes up behind AZ and drops off some of his things as well before filling his clip.

"Hey Tidus. I see that the door to Room 002 is open. Did you guys head into the bar yet?" GSMY asks as he is refilling his clip

"Not yet. Tur wants to get a first aid spray for Evan first."

"He's still alive?" lj sounds surprised

"Of course he is!" Stacy snaps

"There's a weapon cache in the bar. Getting in there should be a top priority." GSMY reaffirms, "Not to sound cruel, but the more time Tur wastes, the longer we play the waiting game as sitting ducks here."

"If you want to get shot walking in there be my guest." Tidus shrugs

"We owe Evan enough respect to at least wait for Tur to come back with aid." AZ chimes in, "Besides, CC is in pretty bad shape too. We just can't ignore her either."

"I'll go search the airstrip again." lj says quite quickly, "There could be something new there since we were dropped off. Especially after... Yeah."

lj looks at the faces of his companions for reassurance, and finds that the all nod. He takes that as the green light and heads out the Inn's double doors after saying his goodbyes. AZ and GSMY head over to CC to try and comfort her while TJ joins the girls. Tidus is pacing back and forth towards the back of the room, mummbling to himself and twirling his shotgun. He is spouting off uncoherant sentences and has random volume flucuations that make him sound all the more unstable. Finally however, he sits next to TJ opposite Anne and Stacy.

"You're pretty..." Tidus winks at Anne

"But not desperate." Anne gives him a wicked grin back

"I'm going to go and try to talk to my dad." Stacy says before walking into Room 002

"She is getting worse." AZ says to GSMY

"I feel so... bound. Incapable of doing anything to even ease her pain." GSMY sighs

"We can't let her die. Not like this. Not here."

The room falls silent as everyone is pulled into their own personal world. The only sound that breaks the silence is the ever so slight moan that escapes through CC's pursed lips...

Right Tower- Nate watches again as yet another one of the Gammas twitches in its tube.

"Hey guys... Those things are still moving..." Nate warns

"I have no earthly idea why they would even be here in the first place... The Gammas are a failure." Natus scoffs, "But even so, four of them would still put up a hell of a fight. I think we might want to just skip this room..."

Natus backs away towards the door, but Nate and MF don't follow. "It'll just take a minute, Natus. Besides... They're still in those tubes. We're fine." MF sounds pretty confident

"Here you go MF." Nate hands him the clip that he just recently found

"Why thank you." MF smiles, "I don't think I really need this folder anymore. Obviously this Shadow Emblem of mine must be used in the prison, which means there must be other emblems floating around this place. Unfortunately, I have no idea what those 'hidden numbers' are for this box..."

"According to that burnt piece of paper I had, there were numbers hidden in the words above it..."

"Yeah, I saw that too, but I don't understand how the numbers were hidden in there..."

"Then whoever hid the numbers did a pretty good job didn't they?" Natus throws in his two cents from the doorway.

"So if they're hidden in the words... Maybe the letters spell out numbers?"

"Perhaps... I don't know. This entire Village is one gigantic mystery. It's starting to piss me off..."

"Just starting MF?"

"Shut up Natus."

The dissention in the ranks is becoming all the more evident and Nate tries to quell the storm before it explodes. "Come on guys, just calm down. We'll be out of here in just a minute."

Nate leaves those words linger in the air as he starts to search the cardboard boxes. MF shoots another look at Natus before placing his folder on top of a box and aiding in Nate's search. What exactly they were searching for was unkown even to themselves... There was a box of reports, empty test tubes, goggles... Nate reaches into one box and pulls out an official Umbrella document, stapled in the corner. He pauses for a moment to read the cover sheet as MF looks over his shoulder.

File #38- Stapled Document

Umbrella France
RE: Gamma Research

C/O: Kristopher Karter

Kris, I cannot authorize any new research into the Gamma strain of Hunters. They have been a financial disaster from the very beginning and I cannot forsee any reason that they will continue to be anything but. Despite your past successes, not even our brightest scientists could turn the Gamma project into even the slightest success. Continuing to do futile research into a strain deemed useless will not only waste more of Umbrella's money, but will also discredit your reputation as one of Umbrella's finest. Don't take this as a personal shot at yourself; Not even you could make the Gamma's useful.

[Second Page]

Cultivation of 8 Gamma subjects completed. All previous weaknesses still visible.

Strength Test- Minimal
Durability Test- Minimal
Agility Test- Marginal
Intelligence Test- Marginal
Versus V-Act- Fail
Versus Alpha- Fail
Versus Weaponry- 2 Shotgun Blasts or 6 Handgun Bullets
Number of Subjects lost- 3

[Third Page]

Direct Infusion of T-Dragon into the Gamma Cells. Marked improvement seen almost imeadiately.

Strength Test- Maximum
Durabilty Test- Marginal
Agility Test- Marginal
Intelligence Test- Beyond what we thought was Maximum
Versus V-Act- Pass
Versus Alpha- Pass
Versus Weaponry- 3 Shotgun Blasts or 10 Handgun Bullets
Number of Subjects lost- 1

[Fourth Page]

While we have managed to prove Umbrella wrong once more, we have yet to perfect the Gamma Strain. While all of their previous weaknesses have been eradicated, one of their new strengths is it's greatest weakness. The T-Dragon has given the Gamma Strain superior intelligence, beyond what I had even thought was capable... And their new found strength is amazing. Their Durability is still a slight problem, but we can work around that. As you saw from the test with the Alpha, it may have been getting beaten badly, but with one well timed sidestep the Gamma took down the Alpha with a single blow. However, their intelligence is frightening. When we were attempting to recage the Gamma after it's victory, we sedated it for transporation. However, when the transport team made it's way to move the Gamma, it rose and slaughtered the entire six man team. It was simply 'playing dead.' Not only that, but it managed to escape the test room and would have slaughtered everyone on Class 6 if it weren't for a well placed .44 Shot from Trevor. Since we are unable to determine a way to control these enhanced Gammas, I am going to have to order that the remaining four subjects be placed in stasis and stored in one of the towers until I can devote more time to discovering a way to manipulate the genes more thoroughly, not only to protect ourselves, but to perfect this new strain of Hunter. I will be presenting this research to Umbrella, under the guise that we have created this new strain from scratch. From this point on, the enhanced Gammas will be refered to as the "Delta" strain. So, for the time being, the Delta Project will have to be put on hold, as I have recently come into a more rewarding project involving Nemesis Parasites. While the Delta Project will soon become a major facet to the Village's research, this new development with the Nemesis Parasite will surely sky rocket our favor with Umbrella ten fold. I would like to thank everyone who dedicated their time to this project. This is only further proof that the T-Dragon Virus is going to take the top spot for Umbrella in the near furture.

Nate throws the packet of papers to Natus, who quickly scans them from his safe spot in the doorway. Nate and MF continue to search the cardboard boxes for anything else of use. Empty boxes for shotgun shells, empty clips, empty grenade round containers... Hmmm.... In the bottom of one of the boxes, Nate pulls out a #small box# labeled "Panasonic Batteries Size D" Opening it up, Nate counts 2 large batteries. Great, now they can power up some things. The rest of the boxes come up empty. Natus finishes reading the packet of papers and shakes his head.

"Deltas? I've never heard of those. If they are really just enhanced Gamma's though, they're still weak... Hopefully..."

"Not according to those papers Natus." Nate says as he walks over to the control panal, "Apparently Karter took great pleasure in turning failures into successes."

"But from his own words he turned one failure into another failure. He just changed the name." MF cracks as he stares deep into the Deltas on the tube, and then almost in a whisper to the Delta's themselves, "As long as you stay in there..."

Nate stares at the two blinking buttons on the control panal. There is a red one and a green one... And they are just begging to be pressed. They aren't labeled of course, which could pose a problem, but then again pushing buttons hasn't caused them problems so far... Nate looks closer at the panal. There are a few monitors and several other buttons, but only the red and green one are active... And they only lit up when Nate pushed the light switch when they came in... Decisions, decisions...

"Can we go now?" Natus seems impatient

"One minute." Nate snaps without even thinking about it

Airstrip- lj exits the Inn and takes a deep breath... The mid day wind is refreshing, but he knows that that is the only refreshing thing in the Village. In the distance, lj thinks he can still make out Tur on the horizon, but that could just be another zombie. Shaking the cobwebs from his head, lj heads down the familiar path to the airstrip. At one point, lj had to duck through the outstretched hands of a pack of three zombies about midway there. But he managed to reach the airstrip without taking any damage. Walking under the now ripped welcome banner, lj gags while looking down the strip. The headless body of #Xanitos#, the bullet riddled corpse of #Hunu#, the mangled corpse of #biolink#... It is not a very pretty sight. And to top it all off, this place has become the territory to a whole crew of zombies. And overhead, a circle of what looks to be Ravens is forming in the sky around all of the death... Moving any further down the airstrip would be dangerous... It is quite evident that they have been snacking on the bodies of their fallen comrades. But the ones around Hunu are all dead as well... Perhaps taken out by the gun turret? lj had come here hoping to search the helicopter wreckage, but is disappointed to see that the helicopters have crashed just outside the Village boundaries... The only way he would be able to get to them would be to go through the front gate... And through the gun turret. Disappointed, lj was about to head back when he paused... The safe compartments in the Inn open by fingerprint... lj turns back to the corpses on the ground... Could he defile the bodies of his compatriots in order to save himself?

House 300- Tur exits the Inn and checks his Edge on last time, just to make sure that that it is in perfect working order. He rolls Mr. Stabby around in his left hand a few times for good luck before setting back off for his destination. He wasn't only fighting to save Evan now... CC's life could be on the line as well... Tur breaks into a run and does his best to stay as far away from the walking dead as possible. Ducking and dodging his way through the Village, Tur finally makes his way to the housing square. All in all, he made it from the Inn to the door of House 300 without coming within six feet of a zombie. Quite a ninja stealth mode for sure. Tur is about to walk through the door, but something in the distance catches his eye. The Mansion, on a slight hill... There was movement up there... Like a group of people was heading away from it... With one of the group several feet taller then the rest... Tur curses to himself. The Trio was leaving the safety of the Mansion. Probably for the Research Center... And they had the Judge playing bodygaurd. Tur can't make out faces, or much of anything from his distance, but he can definitely be sure of the fact that all three of the trio have left the Mansion. Tur wants to run right up there and blast holes in everyone of those bastards... but deep down he knows that he wouldn't get within 100 feet with the Judge near them. They start to get out of visible sight, but... Did they just split into two groups? No... They're still together... Wait... Are they? Tur curses again... As much as wants to go and make the Trio pay for everything, two people are depending on him right now. Tur cautiously made his way through the front door, with an Edge in his right and Mr. Stabby in his left. Going through the front door, Tur can hear the echos of skittering through the vents. Tur's heart rate picks up involuntarily, but he continues to trudge on regardless. There is a screech up ahead, and a Chimera pokes it's head through the vent in the kitchen. Tur raises his gun to fire, but it disappears, showing up a few seconds later through the vent above the front door. Tur spins quickly as the Chimera jumps down from the vent. He places a burst of Edge fire right into the chest of the Chimera... staggering it. Tur then stabs the already ripped open chest with Mr. Stabby and pulls up, splitting open the beast. The Chimera screeches, and then... Dissolves?! Tur shudders, but doesn't have the time to think it through completely as another Chimera pops out of the vent in the kitchen. Tur spins yet again, but it is gone before he has the chance to aim. Tur curses for the third time in as many minutes. He decides to pick up the pace and start the searching. Tur heads into the kitchen and pops open the cabinet. Inside he finds a case of grenade rounds with a yellow cap. It is labeled "Acid Rounds." The Hardware guy was packing serious heat... If he had the ammo... Does he have the launcher too? The skittering echoes through the vents again and Tur has to suspend his search as a Chimera pops out right above his head. Tur ducks behind a counter and places a burst of fire into its right shoulder and it disappears into the vent again. Tur opens the dishwasher now, and admist the plates and flatware, Tur beams from ear to ear as he pulls out a can of first aid spray. It is a small can, enough for one use... Which would have been fine if he didn't now have two victims to treat. Tur reaches into the dishwasher and pulls out the spray, and is caught off guard as a Chimera drops down from the vent and slices down at him. Tur manages to avoid the swipe, but the Chimera's downward force crashes into him and places him off balance. Tur tries to grab onto something, but fails, and tumbles down the basement stairs.

Tur hits the landing and Mr. Stabby rolls away from him and across the room. Tur coughs twice as he tries to catch his breath and gets to one knee. He stares a Chimera with an oozing shoulder, the one he shot before. Dropping down from a hole in the basement air passage, the Chimera that attacked him in the kitchen also becomes a threat. Firing from his knee, Tur's burst shreds the other shoulder of the injured Chimera. It falls to the ground and dissolves, just like the first one did. Nice shot. Nice shot indeed. The remaining Chimera decides to escape and jumps through another of the air passages. Tur scrambbles back to his feet and retrieves Mr. Stabby, which had rolled underneath of a water heater. Regaining his breath, Tur finds that the basement is relatively bare. Besides the intircate duct work and the water heater, the only other things in this basement are a #fuse box# and a work table that has a bunch of well used tools on it. Tur examines the work table, and finds that Simon was a bit of a craftsmen himself. A birdhouse, spice rack, wooden statues, and carvings are lay atop each other on the table. Sorting through it all, Tur doesn't find anything of use. But as he is about to move away from the table, his hand brushes against something underneath the table. Something was duct taped there. Pulling it out, Tur finds a crank with an octagonal head. Why was this so important that it be hidden? Tur doesn't bother to do any thinking right now as he just pockets the crank and heads to the fuse box. Opening it, he sees that a few them are blown, and a certain one seems to be out of place. Tur pulls it out, and finds that it is not a fuse at all. It is a plug, and bright blue in color. Pocketing that, Tur is caught by surprise yet again as the lone Chimera drops down behind him and screeches out. He hadn't heard the skittering this time... The duct it went up must have been insulated. Before Tur can spin around to face the beast, a searing pain runs up his right side. He had been slashed from the third rib down to his abdomen. Tur screams out in pain and falls to the ground, but he is anything but defenseless. As the Chimera skitters towards him for the final blow, Tur unleashes two bursts of fire right into the face of the insect hybrid, exploding it's head in several places. Unable to screech without a face, the Chimera simply dissolves into the ground. Tur places his hand onto his wound to try and lessen the bleeding... The wound is pretty deep, and it is long enough that it pains him every time he attempts to stand or walk. Looking down at the slash, Tur can see the white of bone that could be his rib... Tur takes a few deep breaths and grits his teeth as he gets back to his feet and stumbbles towards the stairs that he had fallen down just a few minutes ago. He climbs up them slowly and makes his way back into the living room, dripping blood the entire time... Tur has to use the blunt part of Mr. Stabby as a makeshift cane just to make it that far, while using his other hand for pressure to keep his wound closed... He is fearful that if he lets go, that he will bleed out within minutes. But the thought that he is fighting not only for himself, but for two others drives him through the pain... With the Chimeras gone, clearing the house should be easy... That is, as long as he didn't pass out from the pain. Tur fights his way up another set of stairs to the second level, where he collapses at the landing.

There are three rooms up here. A @bathroom@ staright ahead, a closed @bedroom@ to the right, and an open @guest bedroom@ to the left. There are faint sounds coming from the closed bedroom, but Tur can barely make out the potted green and red herb growing in the bathroom... The pain in his right side was beginning to amplify after all that climbing, and his vision was starting to blur up just a bit around the edges... Blood was pooling around him from where he lay at the beginning of the hall... Tur actually felt his life slipping away from him. The peach carpet was quickly becoming a dark crimson, soaking all the way to the wooden floor... The bluring in his vision was quickly being replaced by darkness around the edges... Using Mr. Stabby as a crutch, Tur actually manages to make it to his feet once more... How long he'll be able to stay on his feet though is uncertain at best... Will the Trio claim yet another innocent life?
