GOD BLESS OUR SOLIDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES ALWAYS

This picture by Tom Sierak reminds me of once when my sons were young. I have always been a flag waving nut I guess, just the sight of our flag causes tears to come to my eyes. I had bought a large flag to be hung outside when the boys were about 9 or 10-somewhere around there. When Ed and I got ready to hang the flag, it was nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere....finally even going into the boys rooms. When we went into William and Eddie's room, there the flag was in all her glory....taped to the ceiling of their room!!! I didn't have the heart to take her down, so we just left and thanked God that we had 3 sons who loved Old Glory that much.

Now, William and Eddie both are serving our country in the Army. Thank God they will both be home for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but my heart breaks for all the soliders who won't.

PRAYER FOR OUR SOLIDERS AND THEIR FAMILIES

Dear Heavenly Father, please be ever so near our soliders and keep them from harm's way. Whether we agree on the politics of this war or no, these boys are fighting for their beloved America and we want them back, safe and sound with their families. They are so brave to leave their homes to go fight a war in a foreign country to keep us safe, so we plead with you to keep them safe while they're there.

I ask you to give strength and courage to the wives, children, mothers and fathers who have said goodby to their brave fighting soliders and watched them leave to go fight for our country. For the little ones left behind, only knowing Daddy is not at home because of a noble cause, please send someone into their lives who will be a role model for them while their Daddy is away.

As these military wives go about their everyday tasks, while their husbands are away, with the ever present threat that their husband may be the next casualty, please give them a special comfort and strength to take care of their children and provide as much a normal life for them as possible.

The sorrows felt at this Holiday Season for a son, husband, daughter, wife, father who has lost their lives in this war, we ask for special divine comfort for those left behind. Help the ones left behind know that their hero gave all they had for our freedom as a nation and as an individual. Somehow, please make the Holidays a little brighter for the loved ones, by being ever so close to them at this time.

Heavenly Father, please attend to those who are needing your love so very badly at this Holiday Season and send them your Peace. In the Name of your Son, Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

A Christmas Tree For All Our Soliders
