The Illustriertes Briefmarken Zeitung of 3 May 1913 notes an announcement on the 8 March 1913 issue of El Diario that the 1c, 5c, 10c, and 20c were issued on 1 March 1913. Further, in the 5 July 1913 issue of the same journal the 2c, 40c, 75c, 80c, 1P, 1.25P and 3P were sent to them on 24 May from Asuncion with a note that these values had just been issued.
The IBJ quotes an issue of Madrid Filatelico with the quantities issued but wonders if they had inserted an extra 0 in the amounts since the quantities seemed so large. Further, they wonder why the 80c value was omitted since it had already been issued. This information is in the 2 Aug 1913 issue of the IBJ. I have listed the quantities given and do tend to agree with the comment that an extra 0 has been added.
I have found all values of this issue to exist on both a medium hard and medium soft paper. All values were printed by the South American Bank Note Company of Buenos Aires in sheets of 100 (10 x 10).
Covers of this issue are not scarce and I have mentioned only very unusual ones therefore.
The 1 centavo
Issued on 1 March 1913, in a quantity of 10,000,000 (?) in gray. The only variety I have found is an imperf pair.
The 2 centavos
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 6,000,000 (?) with an imperf pair being the only variety.
The 5 centavos
Issued on 1 March 1913, in a quantity of 4,000,000 (?) with an imperf pair being the only variety. I have a record of the 5c, 20c and 1911 50c used to the Custom House Mong-tze with a Shanghai IJPO cancel.
The 10 centavos
Issued on 1 March 1913 in a quantity of 2,000,000 (?). The only variety is an imperf pair.
The 20 centavos
Issued on 1 March 1913 in a quantity of 1,000,000 (?) with the only variety being an imperf pair. I record a proof on thick paper in a lilac color.
The 40 centavos
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 3,000,000 (?) with the only variety being an imperf pair.
I record the 40c and 75c and pair of the 10c on a registered cover from CAA GUAZU to Austria. There is a printed registry label of CAA GUAZU as well.
The 75 centavos
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 2,000,000 (?). An imperf pair is the only variety.
The 80 centavos
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 1,000,000 (?). Imperf pair being the only variety.
The 1 Peso
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 5,000,000 (?).
The 1.25 Peso
Issued on 24 May 1913 in a quantity of 5,000,000 (?). An imperf pair is the only variety. I record a registered cover from TABAPY to Chicago with a printed TABAPY registration label.
The 3 Pesos
