Four values lithographed by the Government Printing Works in Asuncion. The earlier record I have found in the philatelic literature is notice in the 9 April 1921 issue of the Illustriertes Briefmarken Journal mentioning that the 1P blue and black was issued. The other values are not mentioned in the literature till September 1921. Thus, this series may not have been issued till 1921.

There are two types of the Vignette only known. The first shows a large picture of the building and is on thick white paper in black. The other shows a smaller building on thin glossy card and comes in two sized - 30.5 x 15.5mm and 21.5 x 11mm.

Proofs are known on white paper in red in a sheet of 25; on white paper in a sheet of 100 perf 12 1/2 vertically and diagonally and imperf horizontally. Also recorded are proofs on a thick rose lilac paper in black with two values in each little sheetlet.

The following varieties are known:

CORRLOS for CORREOS; imperf pair; imperf pair with CORRLOS; pair imperf horizontally; pair imperf horizontally with CORRLOS.

Also known in ultramarine and black.

The following proofs are recorded:

On white paper in dark blue (sheet of 25) On thick rose lilac paper in black - 2 values in each little sheetlet.

The only varieties known to me are: Imperf pair, and Inverted center.

Also known in blue and black.

The following are the only varieties: Imperf pair, Inverted center.

The date and quantity issued is unknown at present.

The following varieties are known:

Overprint vertical. The following varieties are known ONLY with the violet precancel, "CANCELLADO" - overprint inverted, overprint double, pair one normal and one with double overprint.

Both types of the 50c with bars provisional were noted in the 16 July 1921 issue of the IBJ. I have not recorded any essays or proofs of these issues and the varieties on both are the same, i.e., Overprint inverted, overprint double, overprint double one inverted, overprint double both inverted.

On february 8, 1922 a 50c and 1 Peso stamp were issued.

Known in carmine and dark blue as well as red and blue, this stamp was printed by the Government Printing Works.

Several proofs are known: on white paper in 8 color combinations, a monocolored stamp in rose carmine, and center inverted in red and black.

The following are the varieties: Center inverted; imperf pair; imperf pair with center inverted; and imperf horizontally.

Known in dark blue and brown, blue and brown, indigo and brown as well as a very scarce ultramarine and yellow brown.

Of proofs there are: 6 color combinations on white paper; center inverted in blue and black; and a single color of the stamp in indigo.

The recorded varieties are: center inverted; imperf pair; imperf horizontally; imperf vertically; imperf pair center inverted; imperf vertically with center inverted; and a colorless flaw on the Y of PARAGUAY (position #45).

Again, the catalog dates for these issues may not be correct. According to the literature, the 1P deep blue and 5P dark violet were issued on 18 June 1923 and the other colors are not mentioned in the philatelic literature till 1924. The quantities of these two stamps is not known, but it was reported in the literature of the time that there was a limit of 10 copies per person when they went on sale, so it could not have been very high. These and the other colors were printed by the Government Printing Works.

The 1 Peso scarlet and dark blue is first mentioned on 15 March 1924.

The literature states that 150,000 of the 1 Peso red violet and gray were printed.

The 1 Peso orange and gray is also known in yellow-ochre and gray and it is stated that 150,000 of these shades were printed.

The 5 Pesos dark violet is also known in a brown violet.

The 5 Pesos dark blue and orange brown is first mentioned in April 1924 and it is recorded that 50,000 were printed.

Of the 5 Pesos dark red and light blue I have a notice that only 20,000 were printed.

The 5 Pesos emerald and black is also known in yellow-green and gray and it is stated that a total of 20,000 of these shades were printed.
