Seems like all you ever hear are the negative things about cyber relationships. Let me tell you about the good side!!

Nearly 3 years ago I bought a computer. One evening as I was surfing, I came accross a chat room and decided to see what it was all about. Once in, I met alot of friendly people. One person really got my attention with a private message he sent me. True at first I thought he was a bit strange until I heard his life story. Something about the man really touched my heart. We chatted everyday for over a year and learned a lot about each other.

Finally we decided to met. We both were very nervous and a little leery but it was something we both wanted. With our plans made, we finally were meeting. (Editor note: Lexi and Captain met each other in a safe enviroment for both.) We both had talked about our feelings for each other but without actually meeting we really didn't know if it was real. As soon as I saw him, something inside told me he was the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. We spent 4 wonderful days together! It was hard to let him go, but there were things we both had to take care of. After five long months, tons of phone calls and a few more visits, we are finally together! Never in our lives have either one of us been happier and we both are totally devoted to each other.

You can find love on the Internet but you have to be careful. AND MOST OF ALL TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS!

Captain's View:

What can you say about internet romances...Do they work? Will they last? If you had asked me that question 2 years ago I too would have been skeptical. It is very hard to believe what is said online, who you can and can not trust, so you have to be very cautious.

But if you are very lucky, once in a lifetime you may meet someone online that in your heart you know you can trust and believe. I have been blessed to meet such a lady. We met online in a chat room. I know everyone says bad things about chat rooms. Some of what you hear is true, but alot of it is not. Anyway this very special woman and I met by chance and after chatting with her a short time we became good friends. It is funny how you get to meet and know someone online, without ever knowing what they look like. If they are truthful, you get to know their likes, dislikes, thoughts, family, problems, and the entire person, for who they are and not for what they look like. I could tell that the woman I met was very special. She is kind and understanding. She is a very loving person who often thinks about others before thinking about herself. Through chatting we found that we had alot in common. She has a great sense of humor and was simply a joy to chat with.

After we had chatted for almost a year we had the opportunity to meet in person. I was like such a schoolboy on his first date (very nervous) but after only being with her for a short time, I knew that I had met my soulmate. We have been together now for six months and I could not be happier. We plan on getting married next year. I have never been so happy.

Internet romance.....YES, it does work.......but only if you find the right person, and I have found her......
