There are many kinds of tears, Some are from sadness or from fears. Other kinds of tears are from great joy, And the pride that comes from that girl or boy. All our tears are for a purpose, To ease the tension building inside us. It cleanses the soul, and gives a feeling of relief, Tears make us think clearer and renew belief. Tears are our way of showing pride, Sometimes the water just wells up inside. When it fills to the brim, and just about to fall, Once in a while, we break down and just bawl! Other times, there are tears from sorrow, And we know things will be better tomorrow! All the while it seems like eternity, But eventually tears turn into tranquillity. Then there are times when you laugh yourself witless! Tears come streaming down and you feel so senseless. Your face is so red and you have a big grin, You laugh and cry so hard that it creases your chin! But the tears that are hardest to explain, Are the ones for no reason and really no pain. Sometimes we just feel like doing it, And most always we feel better after a bit! So don't be afraid to let the tears fly! Everyone does it, even if they don't know why. If God didn't sometime want you to cry, He wouldn't have put water in your eye! Author: Susan T. Fisher June 18, 1999
