It is important how and what you pray,
Even if you pray regularly every day.
The attitude of prayer is always heard,
Without you even saying a single word.

When you pray with a motive in mind,
Your words are smooth, and so very kind.
Begging for "please, one more thing,"
And happiness to you it will surely bring.

If you pray and it's become routine,
And you never say what you really mean.
Speaking the ritual of mundane phrases,
But still giving Him all the usual praises.

God hears not only what you say out loud,
He hears how you say it with your head bowed.
Be sincere, be honest, and pray in an unselfish way,
Then accept the answer that you get, come what may.

You have to pray from within your heart,
And mean every word, right from the start!
God hears what you say, but also what you intend,
He will always be there listening, until the end.
