This painting was the first of a series of nine paintings comprising the "Minor Ceremonies" series created between 1989 and 1995.The subject matter of this series was inspired in part by life long interest in the areas of mythology and the system of oral traditions that served as the methodology for the retention and transferance of knowledge by humankind's genesis cultures.
