Cultural Affairs
The goal of the Department is to promote the
cultural life of New York City and to articulate the
contributions made by the cultural community to the
City's economy.
New York Foundation for the Arts
NYFA is a nonprofit service organization and one of the
largest providers of grants and services to individual
artists and arts-related organization in all artistic
disciplines in the United States. Their new website, NYFA
Interactive, includes NYFA Current, a weekly national
newsletter (formerly ArtsWire), and NYFA Source, a
national database of information on grants, awards,
services, and publications for artists in all
disciplines.
New York State Council on the Arts
The New York State Council on the Arts is dedicated to
preserving and expanding the rich and diverse cultural
resources that are the heritage of the people of New York
State.
Studio in a School
For the past twenty-five years, Studio in a School has
brought professional artists into public schools,
transitional housing facilities, and child care and
community centers to share drawing, painting,
printmaking, and sculpture with children of all ages.
