Me presento
En primer lugar quiero darte la bienvenida a esta página web. ¡Ongi
etorri! y gracias por compartir esta inquietud por los insectos y su fascinante mundo.
Me llamo Arturo Goldarazena Lafuente, soy un
Navarro nacido en Irún y en la foto
me podéis ver junto a mi amigo el acarólogo Ronald Otxoa, buscando un holotipo que nunca
debió haberse perdido en Maryland (USDA), USA. Tengo 31 añitos y desde que que acabé mi
tesis, no he hecho más que trabajar con bichos pequeñicos llamados trips y ácaros, en
el Departamento de Zoología y Ecología de la Universidad
de Navarra, sito la vieja ciudad de Iruña, capital del Viejo Reyno Independiente de Nabarra. Vivo en un pueblo llamado Tafalla y
me gusta la pintura, el cine, beber claretico navarro y otros menesteres que no es
cuestón hacerlos de dominio público.
Líneas de investigación
Mi principal interés científico es la Sistemática, Evolución y
Biogeografía
del Orden Thysanoptera
(Insecta) en la Región Mediterránea y Eurosiberiana, especialmente me interesa el
Suborden Tubulifera y la familia Phlaeothripidae. Así mismo, el estudio
de las abundancias estacionales de algunas especies fungívoras y la relación insecto
hospedador son temas a los que he dedicado una parte de mi tesis doctoral.
El conocimiento de los enemigos naturales de los tisanópteros es otro de
los temas que me apasiona. El estudio de la acarofauna asociada a los
trips, los ácaros ectoparásitos que los atacan, los ácaros
parasitoides y predadores y el estudio de los himenópteros
endoparásitos de algunos grandes trips son objetivos recientes de la investigación que
he llevado a cabo a lo largo de los últimos 6 años.
Durante los dos
últimos años me he dedicado al estudio del tipaje de diferentes poblaciones del nematodo
plaga Pratylenchus spp. mediante técnicas de biología molecular
(RAPDS). En estos momentos me encuentro trabajando con diferentes
especies de araña roja (Tetranychus spp.) con dichas técnicas.
